There's no place in my short and simple write-up where I justified racism. Why would any black man or woman lend credence to a system that adversely affects and dehumanizes him or her? What I said was that some minute number of never-do-well blacks keep doing despicable things that make us, the good hardworking folks look bad. Racism is bad and it should be condemned whenever or where ever it rears its head. I've been a victim of racism. One time in Seoul, a disgruntled racist copper asked me how on earth a black guy like me was shagging a pretty white Canadian chic while he, a Korean could only dream of shagging a Caucasian? I told him in Korean I was smart! As blacks, racism is something we have to live with. This is the sad truth. They'll always be people out there who don't like us for no reason(s) other than we're black.Sometimes I get so pained whenever I experience racism that I begin to question why God didn't make every human being in just one colour! (CNN)The Ontario Human Rights Tribunal has ordered a Toronto restaurant to pay a black customer $10,000 Canadian dollars for racially discriminating against him and his friends.

Emile Wickham was celebrating his 28th birthday with three friends when the group decided to grab a bite at Hong Shing Chinese Restaurant on May 3, 2014.
The four were the only black patrons in the restaurant, Wickham said, and they were stunned when the waiter demanded they pay before they were served
When the group complained, they were told it was policy, according to their testimony.
"I still felt skeptical, so then I approached other tables," Wickham told CNN. No one else he spoke with had been asked to prepay, he said.
"There was frustration initially. And that frustration turned into a feeling of dejection and sadness," he said.
The restaurant's response
Nearly a year after the incident, Wickham, who is originally from Trinidad and Tobago, could not stop thinking about what happened.
As the anniversary approached, he filed a complaint with the Human Rights Tribunal.
The restaurant said it had seen an influx of dine-and-dash incidents, and that it asked customers who weren't "regulars" to prepay, according to the ruling.
But adjudicator Esi Codjoe said she found no evidence such a policy was real. Earlier this month, she ruled the restaurant had racially profiled the students.
It says it will appeal
In a statement shared with CNN, Hong Shing Chinese Restaurant expressed deep concern over the situation and highlighted that management has since changed.
"There are a number of sensitivities and considerations about this situation, and for that reason, the tribunal outcome is under appeal by legal representatives.
"At this time we cannot comment further, beyond emphasizing that the current owner and staff are dedicated to be a committed, inclusive and responsible member of the community."
Wickham said he will continue to fight his case if needed.
"It happens in our daily life, work life, social activity," he said.
"The average Canadian never calls themselves racist, but if a significant part of the population have legitimate stories of being discriminated against, this has to be seen beyond the scope of a restaurant claim."

If the current trend of middle class Nigerians migrating on PR and Education continues, we might soon wish the madness of being discriminated upon bye-bye. You must be capable and honorable as a Nigerian to legally migrate to Canada these days and that can always increase one's self-worth. A man with a very healthy dose of self-worth tends to honor himself and all around him which in turn help project the image of his/her community.

I'm so sure that it's the Black Refugees that are creating this crazy impression and they're mostly in Quebec and some parts of Ontario. They're the ones that crossed the borders from US. They've got nothing to loose and that's why we need to castigate them severely.

I remember my conversation with someone who made a statement that Nigeria is not a safe place just because I told her I’m Nigerian and I really do not blame her because the refugees claim Nigeria is in turmoils because they want legal stay. I laughed within me when I told her that the issue is very remote within a small part of the country. She seemed shocked. Of course she should be because right there in her office, two of her colleagues are Nigerian and I guess they may not have told her the truth either.

The huge influx of Nigerians coming through the US/Canadian border maybe a stigma to the Nigerian community. There is already a negative publication on this and before you know it the populace start being biased towards you. Let’s not forget our countrymen who are involved with identity fraud theft. These circumstances make people form their opinion and sub-consciously begin to react towards a particular set of people. Forget the country of origin in this story. A lot blacks in the states behave like animals. They’re loud, noisy and always criminal minded. It’s very possible this restaurant has experienced a group of black people having a meal and leaving without paying many times. And you wouldn’t blame them for stereotyping and thinking all blacks are like that.

I once noticed a security woman stylishly following me at Walgreens store, maybe making sure I don’t steal anything. I couldn’t even blame her for that cos I’ve seen what my fellow people of colour can do

Reminds me of an episode I experienced when I travelled to the US a while ago.

My friend and I were in a small store grocery shopping, owned by an Iranian man. Believe me, I've been racially profiled a lot, so when I saw he was Arab, I wanted to buy only milk and leave. He was really nice and welcoming and had Nigerian food so I decided to do all my shopping there.

Next thing two black American girls walked in, one bought a drink. The other open a of chips, ate from it and put it back on the shelf. The owner went balistics, and she said she will spit on him and nothing will happen. I was so disgusted.

Why won't they trust us like scum when we behave this way. The owner saw how angry I was even though I didn't speak.. make akata no remove gun fire my fine face.

I told the man I would pay for it, before he would take out his anger on all black people. Oh boy! When I finished shopping, his boys were joyfully loading our booth with all the Nigerian foodstuff we bought. The man forgot his sorrow that day.

Had to show him Nigerians are better than Black Americans. At least to make sure he knows the difference.
