Hello house gud afternoon. Pls I need advice. I have been denied once for student visa last year October. A family friend was my sponsor. Reasons for denial was insufficient funds. And I requested for a GCMS note to know my actual reason. Pls am suppose to have applied again but my sponsor then is no more showing interest. And I don't have any relative or parents that have money. Tho my sister is in Canada with husband and 3kids. But they have not really gotten a good job to act as my sponsor. Pls what should I do? Because I feel if I apply again I will be given this time. But my challenge now is to get a sponsor. Pls advice me house. Thanks

Lol. There’s literally no one in Abuja CVAC. When you get there if you’re unlucky you might see 15 people. On a normal day, there are 5-7 people. No queue and very orderly as expected.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Nobody: 1:50pm On May 04, 2018
Yes you can apply without paying school fees. In fact you should apply without paying fees because you’re running out of time as you’ve rightfully said. Payment of fees is not a guarantee for visa as the elders have spoken. Show proof of funds that whatever the fee estimation that was sent or shown in your acceptance letter or student permit letter is available and also an allowance to show the sponsor would not suffer or have issues with his responsibilities after payment has been made.
As for Carleton university fees are sent once registration has been completed which starts sometime in June. I’m assuming the same goes for UOttawa because some departments have a joint program between both institutions. For more inquiries contact grad admissions of your school. Wish you the best.

Hello House, please I need help. I want to know my chances of getting a visa to Canada, I was in America a year ago for masters but my grade was low in d first semester, the skool gave me d second semester to make up for d low GP but I did not go back because I was having problem with funds, this was even part of d reason I couldn’t give my best in d first semester, although I switched field. Now everything is back normal, I will like to apply for a PG program in Canada, at least I will know d basics of d new field before I proceed for masters, any chance of getting a Visa? Thanks
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Nobody: 3:03pm On May 04, 2018
Question needs more light.
What was your undergraduate programme?
What course did you enroll for masters at the US?
Are you a recent graduate or how many years ago did you earn your undergraduate certificate?
Are you employed or have relevant working experience in the proposed PGD you wish to go for?
Finally, what do you wish to study at PGD level?

I believe if you can answer these questions, the experts would offer probable solutions and answers.

Like you have stated, you have been denied visa because of insufficient funds. You have also stated your challenge which is, lack of a sponsor. Unfortunately, we can’t suggest sponsors for you. You have the responsibility of seeking a sponsor.
It may be a family member; Father, Mother, etc
Distant relative: Family friend, Uncle, Aunty, Second Cousin
A company or even a scholarship.
I won’t suggest a student loan
The next plausible issue you’ll face after finding a sponsor is showing home ties. Your sibling is already in Canada. You aren’t so financially buoyant, if you do have lands and properties that would suffice but asides that, I would suggest you handle both issues at once in order to have a seamless application. Goodluck.

Just an advise, In my view, an "insufficient funds" denial is one of the easiest to get out of, so long as you are able to verifiably show funds in your name beforehand. Pay one year tuition and show $10k in dom account in your name, which you have effectively done.

It is also indeed possible to get denied for other reasons even if the first denial was just for "insufficient funds". I know it sounds contradictory to the previous paragraph but let me explain how I think you can avoid this (as long as your next application is of same or better quality as the previous). Edited: Disclaimer: this is not a guarantee o, as I am obviously not a VO.

Ok here's what to do: Write a separate "Letter of Clarification" stating the reasons why you were denied last time (list it as bullet points so it is easy for the VO to read in case s/he isn't paying attention) and what you have done to fix it (write this in another set of bullet points showing each step of what you've done).

See the next post for an example format (modify it to your needs but I don't suggest you copy it exactly)

In doing the above, the VO is likely to not treat your application as a fresh application, but as an application that has already passed CIC rigour and only wasn't approved because of finances. Keep the letter in a very visible place in your application, if you submit on paper put it on the page right after your CIC forms, or right before your SOP. If online, put as the first page in the LOE section, and maybe even another copy as first page in Finances section. You want the VO to see it before over-analyzing your app all over again

Dear visa officer:
The purpose of this letter is to demonstrate how I have addressed your concerns about my previous study visa application. My previous application (UCI # xyxxyxyxyxyx, application date: dd/mm/yy) was refused for the following reasons:

x insufficient funds to pay for travel
x insufficient funds to pay tuition
x insufficient funds to pay living expenses

Here are the steps I have taken to address your concerns:

x paid $17k for one year tuition (see attached bank transfer receipt and university receipt)
x 10k bank draft deposited at Royal Bank of Canada, for accommodation and upkeep.(bank also issued letter), ensure you explain how you got this.
x first sponsor statement, worth $... (see attached )
x second sponsor statement, worth $...(see attached)
You can as well include your personal account.

My total annual expenses for my program cost $27,000, the total amount paid for my tuition and 10k bank draft deposited at Royal Bank of Canada, which is equivalent to $27,000. Please, endeavour to increase the funds available if possible in order to show you are financially capable.

My sponsor's up-front payment of my tuition as well 10k bank draft deposited at Royal Bank of Canada, for accommodation and upkeep demonstrate both my availability of funds and his commitment to sponsoring my Canada education. The total funds available for my stay, including paid tuition, living expenses funds in my dom account, my savings account, ... is $.... which is more than sufficient to cover...

I look forward to the opportunity to studying blah at University of blah, so that blah (i.e one final sentence to remind the VO about why you wanna study whatever you are going to study... only include this sentence if you have something concise and compelling to say.)

Thank you,
Mr. Ajanlekoko

Your career seems to be inconsistent, (sorry to say)
From Microbiology to Early Childhood Education to International business Manangement, all within the space of 4 years.
You’ll have a lot of explaining to do in your LOE/SOP (what ever name you want to call it)
Why you don’t want to have an elementary knowledge of business management in your home country considering the cost of going to Canada?
Why the sudden change in career path 3 times?
Inability to complete your masters program in the US and absconded?
You have to do some serious thinking to answer all probable questions that one would want to inquire from you as a Visa Office.
Good luck
