I have a friend that traveled to Europe for trials. He played as a right winger in Nigeria. The coach did not give him chance to play in his favourite position but used him as wing back, an unfamiliar roe to him. He struggled withthe unfamiliar role. That was how he failed the trial.

Yes they are.

Swansea on 17th position are on 33pts and Stoke are on 30points. They can finish level on points on the last day and goals difference can separate them.

West Brom are relegating in the next 8mins if their game remains the way it is.

So I just went to the FIFA website to see the slogans and I agree with Joebie, they are all HORRIBLE.

I will be listing some of my favs that particularly stand out for their ridiculousness grin

ARGENTINA

MAGIA EN MOVIMIENTO
Magic on the move

Really? Magic? Is the Argentine team a circus? Are we going to a magic show?

Australia

ONLY THOSE WHO SHARE OUR PASSION UNDERSTAND OUR PRIDE

This is so plain, so dispassionate. Nothing here should give anyone pride, it can be said with a straight face

Belgium (Nothing is Good here)

Be Fast Be Good Be Belgium !

This one sounds like the lines from a Car advertisement. I mean, you can remove Belgium there and put Hyundai and it would make more sense

From Belgium with Love

I dunno, is it a wedding card? Is it someone's birthday? Besides, isn't that the title of a movie? Only, it's From Paris, not From Belgium

Red Devils on a mission

First team I would think of is Manchester United, obviously!

Brazil

A PÁTRIA DE CHUTEIRAS
THE NATION OF SOCCER CLEATS

This is just ridiculous...nuff said

Colombia

¡AQUÍ VIAJA LA SELECCIÓN QUE NOS LLENA DE ORGULLO EL CORAZÓN!
HERE GOES THE TEAM THAT FILLS OUR HEARTS WITH PRIDE!

Sounds like they pulled this out of a Children's book, like "Here goes Poppy, the Party Pig"

Costa Rica

UN EQUIPO, UN PAÍS, UNA PASIÓN, VAMOS SELECCIÓN
ONE TEAM, ONE COUNTRY, A PASION, GO TEAM

This one is painful to read, because it would have been perfect without the addition of "Go Team" that line just spoilt the rest of it

Croatia

SRCEM DO VRHA!
To the top with heart

I mean...Really?! undecided

Egypt

الملايين
We're back after years, to make millions happy

من قلب الجليد سنعود فائزين.
From the heart of snow we shall return with victory

لما نقول الفراعنة الدنيا تقوم تسمعنا
When you say Pharaohs, the world must get up and listen

NOTHING is good here, it is sad that after 27 years, Egypt returns to the WC with shiit slogans that can't even ginger a six-year old. That last one is particularly daft...why will we get up and listen? Is this football or a music concert? Listen to what? Vuvuzelas?

England

SEND US VICTORIOUS

I know the team can be a bore....but nobody deserves such a bland slogan

France

GAGNER POUR QUE LE RÊVE DEVIENNE RÉALITÉ
Win, To make the dream comes true

Let us ignore the obvious grammatical blunder....this is horrible........

Denmark was omitted from this list because I thought their options were decent enough in the midst of all the nonsense
PART 2 Loading....
I see no nothing awkward about most of these slogans to warrant the mocking comments.

Yes some talented players failed trials cos of this especially when it comes to basic things about football.

I remember how Churchill Oliseh through Chris Eeseka broke a deal for a close pal playing for Old Kwara united at Ajax but failed the trial.

When he came back i asked him you are too good, what went wrong and he said he was lost with the basic things like when to run,how to cover and when to be in the box, truly they were impressed with his dribbling and all round skills.

After six months he went back for another trial in Norway and successful but this was possible after he realised that he need to learn more and it took personal effort to improve himself through video clips.

Wrong on both counts but you keep talking Swansea but 33 points will not be enough. Even they are in danger

Yes Swansea are in danger cos all the 3 teams below them can over take them to that 17th position even the Stoke you have tagged as being relegated.

In the first place Agu is not even highly regarded by his current coach. THAT WAS AN EXAMPLE. What you would have asked me is to give a more appropriate example. Invitation and dropping of a player are two different things entirely.

I wouldn’t use the term double standard the way you just used it, but it’s English everyone has a right to express themselves the way they want.

Thank you Chief icon4s.

I had the opportunity of watching U17 WC live at UAE and i can tell anybody that those guys were young cos i was very close to the team due to Awoniyi who was a year old when i graduated from Unilorin, his Dad was an area bro and they live closely to old university campus in Agbo oba area of Ilorin.

I can't even remember how Awoniyi started his career cos he was not even in the picture of the young boys playing football then in Ilorin especially in the stadium arena, just to tell you he was extremely young.

It was during U17 that my younger bro drew my attention saying "omo bros ti won bi nigba ye ni Tayo Awoniyi" meaning that Tayo Awoniyi na bros pikin o.

But really surprised is going for early marriage, just too early and definitely guys would be suspicious of his age except someone like you or me who knew him very well.

I support his early marriage...
it kind of show he is a responsible young man...
though I am not trying to say.... others not married are not responsible.

Untrue, Dessers has one of the highest goal per minute ratio in the Eredivise even when he starts from the bench.

Kelechi Nwakali and Awoniyi did not shine in the Eredivise, what gives you the impression that Osimhen would?

What an observation.

If you analyse Nigeria team critically, you discovered that two players are very important and they are Mikel and Leon, not even Moses cos their experience always show on the field of play even if they are not at their best.

Good against South Africa we have two good young CB who couldn't do it cos their experience failed them and it happened again against Serbia.

Pls check out Nigeria against Zambia in Ndola,Omeruo partnership with Ekong was awesome cos Omeruo brought needed experience, even against Chad Omeruo was able to guide Ekong.

I keep on saying it better to have Omeruo pairing Ekong/Awaziem in the absence of Balogun.

On Mikel i don't have much to say cos everybody knew that we always struggle without Mikel and left for Rohr to find solutions to it.

Even though I agree we may not have lost to SA if Balogun, Mikel and Moses had played, I cannot say same for that Serbia game. We still could have been no match to Serbia had the trio played.

Did you know that Dessers couldn't light Belgium league but went to Holland and is doing well while Awoniyi failed in Holland but solid in Belgium, meaning you don't judge some players based on league they are playing but current form.

For now Dessers,Sadiq Umar,Taiwo Awoniyi and Simy Nwankwo ahead of Osimhen though Rohr rate him.

It’s not impossible. The other day, it was written boldly on CNN that Marseille takes on Arsenal in the Europa Cup final.

It’s very unlikely Stoke will not be relegated. But you are free to look at the table and prove me wrong mathematically, then I will accept

Modified
Swansea has a game on hand with Southampton.. win lose or draw will condemn Stoke. On that ground, Stoke is relegated.!

I have long learnt not to be carried away by U17 successes.

I rate players who are outstanding at the U20 more.

Bros, na so o.

Because no Oyinbo man talk am then it is absolutely correct.

Looking critically at the table even Huddersfield on 35 points can still relegate and Stoke on 30points can still survive.

here is the mathematics.

Swansea will play Southampton and Stoke. Southampton are on 32 points and Swansea 33 so in that match if Southampton wins they go to 35 points, impossible for Stoke, if they draw Swansea will move to 34 points also impossible for Stoke and if Swansea wins they will go to 36 points also impossible for Stoke
