Good morning everyone,

I will be applying for an F1 visa soon and one of my brothers sponsoring me is in China and his account statement is in Chinese. Please does he needs to translate it or notarize it at the American embassy in China?

You just looking for what did not lost.

Date of transfer will be there but date of payment doesn't change at all..

Mr walspring ,is it possible I use a fixed deposit account, that is a fixed deposit certificate as evidence of financial capacity to get my I-20 and go to embassy for interview ?

I don't think so because money fixed are only accessible at a particular time and what of the date money will be unfixed is not the date you will pay your school fee?

Good afternoon house, I'm trying to defer my admission and I'm not sure if I'll be paying another sevis fee.

I am not am expert in fixed deposit but it's possible depending on the maturity date ... if for example a fixed deposit which the money becomes accessible next week that ok but if you can't access the money until January and schools resume in August then no

For i20 it best to call the school and verify what their policy. The most credible information is when you hear it from the source

Sevis if valid for exactly 365 days so one year from the date payment was made

So defer is ok and you dont have to pay as long as the day you go for the interview and the day you paid the Sevis should be within one year (365 days)

Hi
I want to thank you all for your help.
Am happy to post my transcript cos I have learnt from others.
My Visa was approved today.

Got there 5:30. Saw crowd. Was like really?
I had to pay 1k to keep my Bag and Phone. This Lagos sha.
Had to stand throughout.
Nice building. Up to 4 security checks. Fingerprint stuff then VO.

I loved the fact that you cud listen to others as they argued with VO. Thanks to the many approved transcript I have read and Gods Grace ( Major Factor ). Kept cool and calm

VO: Pass me your Passport and I20 pls.
Me: Here sir
VO: What are you going to do in the US
Me: Am going to start a direct-Phd programme at Iowa State University, Electrical and Electronic Eng
VO: Hmmm. Okay. Why do you need this degree
Me: I want to Lecture and Research
VO: Who is paying for the fees
Me: The school. Got a full scholarship that includes tuition waver and health insurance and ( cuts me off )
VO: How many years
Me: 5 yes.
VO: I would be approving your visa

Wishing all of you guys yet to interview the best.
Whatever happens. NEVER argue with the VO. Cos everyone I saw today do that went home with a blue paper.

I'd assume it's possible. When I was in Nigeria, fixed deposits used to have a letter/document (is it called a certificate?) that stated the duration of the "fix", when the money would be available, the clauses, etc.

If you can prove that this fixed amount would be available to you at the start and during your studies, you should be good.

This is a topic I am not sure about, so don't quote me on it smiley. This is merely my opinion.
