Can't believe that there are people here who actually support getting rid of Martial una never learn abi? Same people that were shouting 'bench pogba for McTominay, simple passes, simple passes' Make Martial kuku go team where forwards are not expected to, first of all, be defenders. Then our eye go clear. |

Martial is not lazy, he is just not happy based on how he was treated with the arrival of Sanchez And I would too, based on the hard work he had put in pre-sanchez He was united's best player for about three months before sanchez came, and this wasn't about just winning games for united His contributions on the defensive side too were exceptional, more than even Rashford perhaps. Jose probably wanted to integrate Sanchez faster into the team, that's why he shifted Martial to the right wing To be fair, Jose wasn't fair at all to Martial |

All of us Don see wetin go happen as Sanchez arrive. For me,If we somehow win the league in the few prime years Alexis has left it would've been an even trade. If we no win anything and martial go turn beast for Bayern then we go lynch Jose. |

crazypencils20:Don't misunderstand my stance on this. Since Mou keeps wailing about the quality of players available to him, then he should be allowed to sell and renew whoever he wants. That way, any success or mishap would solely be on him. On the flip side, if I was in Martials shoes, I would leave, it's not like as if what Mou is doing is new to anyone... The bus, the blame game, taking shots at coaches etc. KDB left, Salah left, even Lukaku left.... If Martial is really serious about his personal ambition, then it's best he leaves. E go pain me but that's the best logical decision he can take. Even Luke Shaw should pack out, all these blame game is nauseating.. Let Mou get the players he wants and kick out those he doesn't instead of this stupid back and forth talks.. |

GloryIsaac:Allowing the special scam a free hand means Man Utd turning into into a 'father christmas' club for mercenaries. The scam will just flood the team with mercenaries, probably win the league, leave and then we start rebuilding afresh. |

Na wah o ToyinDipo crazypensils and other Martial FC fans So Martial should not fight for a starting place abi? He should be given preferential treatment over others shei? Let me be clear. I'm not saying Mou treated him right or uses the right tactics that'll favor his attacking players but Martial should at least do more than he's done of recent. Being told to defend shouldn't make you lose your attacking prowess or zeal altogether. And it is an opportunity if you're told to play in another attacking position. You should use that chance to develop and improve your game. He should just suckit and man up. CR7, Nani, Giggs can all play on the right or left side of the pitch and wreck havoc from anywhere. It's not about where you play on the pitch, it's about your zeal, technique and mentality. |

I've seen messi defending before? Even Cr7? So does martial have a clause in his contract that's states "he shall only be allowed to Play on the left at all times, wearing the number 9 jersey and shall never venture behind the halfway line?" Is martial blind to the performances of Leroy sane or sterling, Malcom or Gabriel jesus who are all his mates? Was he not a key component of the team at the beginning of the season when we were smashing teams left right and center? I don't get why someone who is clearly underperforrming should be given preferential treatment because his name is martial potential......Martial does not look like a mentally strong individual and he is always sulking........if I was his age, at a club like united and making that sort of money, training with those sort of players? I really would want to know which excuse I can fall back on....by the way..."is mourinho the coach of France"...Because he gets benched there too! |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 10:48am On May 08, 2018 |
I won't advocate that we sell him though. That talent is still there. We just need someone to beat it into the heads of these players that they aren't doing us a favor by playing for us, it's the other way round. Of course Fellaini's case is different. If he can't agree to be a peripheral player for emergency situations, he should feckoff |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by ToyinDipo(m): 11:02am On May 08, 2018 |
Leyqute:I agree with you, and I didn't mean Martial shouldn't fight for a starting spot. In my own view, Martial's loss of form isn't down to being told to defend. Before Sanchez came, Martial was one of the united players with best defensive stats, despite also excelling in the attacking areas. I believe it was down to being asked to move to the right wings, after all his hard works to put up 3 best player of the month award. It isn't everyone that will a very strong mentality, to be fair. I also don't subscribe to the idea attacking players not defending, Ronaldo was averaging 60 goals in opposition nets, and 1 goal in Cassila's net each season under Jose. That's how much he contributed to both attack and defence. Messi is also Barcelona's first line of defence |

Lol. I remember Rooney playing Top striker, SS, LWF, RWF, AM and even central midfield at times. And in all those times his performance has always been top notch deservedly being the first name along with CR7 on the starting line up despite having stars like Nani, JS Park, Giggs, Tevez, Berbatov all jostling for just about 3 positions. And even at 17/18 Wazza always tracks back with burst of energy, no showboating, Gives 100%. But let's be factual AM doesnt give hundred 100%. After his scintillating performance in 15/16 season he went to Euros and started the second game sulking all through the match and was removed at half time, he never played again until during the extra time versus Protugal. I have said it before, I like Martial very much but he sucks a lot. And to be fair he cost us some matches. Mourinho sucks at tactics most times, but the lacklustre performance of Martial at times (he has been good at times) is not all Joses making, he also failed at France. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by CapitalCee(m): 11:11am On May 08, 2018 |
ToyinDipo:So why won't Martial defend? Tell me any successful attacking player that doesn't defend. The Sanchez most people are saying replaced him was both attacking and defending versus City and Spurs, giving 100%. To be fair, Sanchez deserve to keep Martial out of any team for now, may be martial deserve to start at his preferred left, but if it's a straight swap between Sanchez and AM for any attacking position, it's a no brainer who should start. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by ToyinDipo(m): 11:17am On May 08, 2018 |
CapitalCee:Martial seemed not to be happy because he was being told to play on the right not because he was asked to defend. Martial actually improved greatly in his defensive side of game late last year. Jose knows every players strength and fragility, IMO he should have been a bit more tender with Martial On the other hand, that's why Jose negotiates hefty salaries for his players, to be top professionals on the pitch |

Leyqute:Fellani wants to be paid like a starter even if he will be a fringe player. Dude wants to stay, more chance at glory at utd than beskitas or which other team they court am. I don't think it is in our hands to keep martial, his up for contract renewal and if he can't be assured of playing time dude would prefer to bounce and we go one recoup some of our investment. Me, am all for selling him even though I know say we will probably suffer for it in the future,a league trophy go ease my pain sha. |

ToyinDipo:Was Rooney behaving like a baby at his age? Was Ronaldo sulking? Robben nko? Alaye should wake up jare. We want him to start firing. Like peak, he has it in him |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by slimghost(m): 12:32pm On May 08, 2018 |
Leyqute:He was firing from all angles untill he was replaced by a struggling Sanchez. People like us who supervise individuals do not play with Manager X and Y theory. If Mourinho does not trust or believe in the boy's talent he should sell him and stop this senseless blames. We have all watched Martial under LVG and have seen what a confident Martial can do. The idiot Mourinho is about destroying the boy's confidence like he did to Shaw and Pogba. |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by stylochime: 12:35pm On May 08, 2018 |
I remember a statement by Javi Martinez after returning from his ACL injury at bayern- “ i don‘t care about position, even if it means being the goalkeeper, i just want to play“ Jose might be unfair but it is your duty as a proffesional to give 100% no matter where u are asked to play because at this stage of your carreer, the experience in playing different positions can be very vital in your all-round development as a player. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by raumdeuter: 1:08pm On May 08, 2018 |
stylochime:Yes Messi should be played in central defence and Matic should be played in center forward. Why has Alexis not been sent to right back I wonder why Mourinho didn't think of the genius idea to try Pogba as striker when Lukaku was struggling |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by odizeey(m): 3:12pm On May 08, 2018 |
Martial don suffer. Must everyone defend and play at all positions. Abeg we bought him for attack and attack he should. |

I like him because he can do what no one else on our team can do, shiko man na our sole plan b and it works fine. If anybody can find Me a player wey fit do wetin shiko man can do with his head, chest and elbow while still able to play guitar with him leg. I would say good riddance, until then I think we need him,Although noise don dey gather around this Savic fella I no just sabi him style |
