Why Northerners Are Mostly In Better Body Shapes Than Southerners? by jowhyte(op): 12:22pm On May 08, 2018

I have been perplexed over this question for a long time now that I am forced to ask my fellow nairalanders what be the reasons why our brothers and sisters in most core northern parts of Nigeria are more in good body shapes than those of us here in the south.

For example, take 10 random people from the core Northern part of Nigeria it just be 2 out of 10 that had pot Belle whereas here in the south it could be 5 - 6 of 10 having a protruding stomach.

The same thing goes for the females. Moderate thigh, arm, shoulder fat over those of us here in the south.

Pls what could be responsible? Gene or environment or eating and habit lifestyles or what?

most Northerners are mostly muslims. They pray 5times a day. And praying in islam is a big exercise. You check through muslims in the west who observe their prayers often and confirm

A huge population of the north are Moslems. To pray the way Moslems do require some form of fitness. When they do this over time it reports positively on their bodies. Most Koreans can sit in lotus position very easily because they began to do so from childhood without stopping. Not forgetting that the Moslems fast for more days.

While it true that Muslim prayer involves stretching exercises, they simply walk more than Southerners.

They also eat less, especially their portion size. As they get richer, like Chinese kids, they eat more and get fat too.

I agree with you bro. Even their choice of meals unlike those here in the south contain less of compound starch that leads to overweight.

i am from core north, the number one reason is our eating habit, a real northerner eats food that is very low in fat, we mostly eat cabohydrates and high fibre foods. number two has todo with genetics, a fulani man is genetically slim in stature, and 99% of core northerners have fulani genes due to intermarriage between hausa and fulanis.
