Bros if you gift Croatia the midfield what do you think would happen to your defence?

Bros calm down and understand my analysis...

My strategy is deceptive if you take it at face value.... If you literally follow the word "gift" then you will be lost. I think the word i should have used is "play through the sidelines and wings" whenever we have the possession.

Please try to understand the context... The context here is that whenever we have possession, we should take the ball to sidelines, from there we play to the wings before aiming for the goal. The key clause in my writeup indicates that we have to be in possession first before the idea of sidelines and wings come into play.

Now, i didn't say that our players should just stay put on the sidelines like stature while the Croats run riot.. No!!

But when we are not with possession, then we mark normally within the middle inorder to regain the ball.

Now if you read my first post about this strategy very well... You will notice that I suggested the formation that will suit this "gifting" of the midfield to Croatia which is the 3-5-2 formation. Naturally, 3-5-2 as a formation have already crowded your midfield by default, so your defense cannot be exposed when defending.

Also 3-5-2 and 4-3-3 formations are naturally counterattacking formations, which will favor very well "mas attack - mass defense" movement.

So you see, my strategy is well thought out,... You end up killing 3 birds by one stone.

If you try to play through the middle against an opponent stronger than you in the midfield, you will always meet brickwall.

Finally, i don't know why all of you riled up concerning my strategy because all the while we have been playing through the sidelines and wings, with mass attack - mass defense (which is the reason why teams struggle to play their game plan against us because we press them high up in their own half).

The only time tried to play through the middle by choking the midfield against Serbia, we all saw the results. We were beaten square and fair.

Awaziem is good but he is not a CB in my own estimation of his allround play.. He seems to be a midfielder and I think he could perform more magic than Ndidi as a DMF which was his natural position before he was converted.

The coach didn't deploy Iwobi to the wings? Did he deploy himself there? He is free to roam from the wings is that not according to the coache's instructions? On Iheanacho putting in Duel's against Poland I cannot remember any through pass worthy of note as an AM in that game.

you're talking as if...he is in the same level with those players you mentioned...

without Moses the super eagles will win matches....him playing the wing back role is for the team and not for himself...

after all we not gonna play with that tactics in all matches just against teams like Croatia,Spain etc...when we need explore the wings and as well.choke the midfield.

Who is the best player in the Nigerian National team?

How many serious matches did you win without Victor Moses?

we are not going to play 3-5-2 all the time...just certain games we play such...
you're talking as if without Moses on the pitch we not gonna win any world cup match...

if he can play that role for chelsea for close to 2 seasons why can't he play the wing back role for the super eagles just on few matches we play such...ebuehi can come in for him in the second half...if he burns out...

Moses can as well return to wings when we revert back to 4-2-3-1 team formation in other matches.....

so let's be flexible...

Haha, the way some of us propose formations. You don't play 4-5-1 in game 1, it works for you and you win the game and next game you switch to 3-5-2.

Instead what one can say is you start with 4-5-1 in a game and end up with 4-3-3, 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 depending on how the team faired during the course of the game.

National team coaches don't change starting formations per Match per match especially if you got a result with the formation for the previous game.

Talking also about bringing in Ebuehi when Moses burns out. I consider such more or less as a wasted substitution. You cannot be chasing a game and rather than making an attacking change like pulling out a midfielder, or a defender and introducing a striker or winger, you are changing WBs.

And if we are leading and you need to secure a result. You can pull out one of the forwards and introduce a midfielder or CB.

I can only change WBs, FBs or CB on the count of injuries or atrocious mistakes from the player involved.

And again on Moses, like you don't get our point. He is our most potent Winger. Why play him at WB?

I trust rohr to go after him should the deal pulls through.... it is so sure some players in the super eagles really need up their games...otherwise many young guns may push them out....

I thought he changed his mind to play for Nigeria after Ebuehi success.

Anyway, I think it is good for the team if new players come into the fold to fight for a shirt.

Oga, calm down.No be play station strategy we dey discuss here. Your opponent will always watch you as you move the ball to the sidelines? If you lose the midfield you also lose control of the sidelines.

Wake up! This is the national team.

He started out as a DMF.

6 Awaziem can play in central defence or defensive midfielder. “I will play wherever the coach wants me to play to help the team,” he says

http://scorenigeria.com.ng/2017/06/10/10-things-we-need-to-know-about-eagles-new-boy-chidozie-awaziem/

This calmness carries over into his passing, which is tidy and calm; he's no Beckenbauer, but his distribution is reliable. No doubt, it helps that he was originally a defensive midfielder, and whereas his passing may have been considered limited in that position, it is very good for a centre-back.

I have seen him play up close and personal and he us strong, rugged and tenacious.

You really can not compare him to Ebuehi or Shehu because he has not played in the RB position for Nigeria to make a fair comparison.

Ola Aina is arguably the best RB in the championship.

Or don't you think that if Moses plays as wingback he'll have very limited chance to initiate or orchestrate attack, which we all know he's the only one why has such ability? He'll have very limited time in the opponent's goal area. Those driving runs and final balls that confuse and unsettle defenders... Its very vital bro
When Rohr no dey craze Moses as WB,pls is Ebuehi not going to WC that Moses will play as WB.
