Reminds me of when I was taking a very hard graduate school admission test, and this weird Oyinbo guy was sitting next to me. Actually there was one seat separating every exam taker, but I could still smell him. It was awful. He smelled like he hadn't showered in days if not weeks. Seemed like the isolated lunatic pothead type. I really tried to concentrate and not embarrass him but this was a horrendous test I never wanted to take again, having taken it once before! (And hoping to take it one last time to get a higher percentile/score.) I was losing precious minutes as my nose and my mind couldn't cope any longer. When one of the roaming officials paced in my direction, I discreetly told her of the problem. Obviously she could smell it too. She consulted with another official and then came back and moved me to another seat without saying anything to the guy. No embarrassment. Dude was oblivious anyway.

Well we don't know the other side of the story yet but some whites can be annoying..

I remember last week in a train..mysrlf and another black guy were seated in a row of seats with a space in between us very big enough for another to sit but there was this white woman who came in but chose to stand even when she was shown the vacant seat...

The strange twist was that as soon as someone stepped out from the train,she sat in that space with other whites and I was like..LOBATAN!

Whites are more likely to be discreet about keeping their distance whether due to fear or discomfort.

The ones most likely to talk trash about Africans body odour are the Akatas. (Irekes in UK.) Any of our people who've lived in America can testify.

Stop being silly. We have all smelled some Nigerians and often the smell can be offensive. I don't know if it's the stockfish/ crayfish they cook which gets into the clothes and through the pores or the refusal of many to wear deodorant.

If they are against deodorant ( if B.O was the smell) then fresh lime goes a long way as does making sure your clothes, body and hair are clean.

I remember travelling with my dad and i was sitting behind him. The white guy sitting next to my dad told him not to touch him with his skin. Fast forward several minutes on the plane....he slept off and was the one head budding my dad. I felt like knocking his head off. I yelled at him and attendants came....told them what happened all they could say was we are sorry, do u want to switch seats. Lol

I had once sat besides this man who smelled so horribly, from warri to Kano. and I cried literally and threw up twice on the bus, unlike the white dude, I couldn't lay my complains to anybody, we had left the park and embarked on the journey, I had no choice but to endure it all.

earnestly, it was one of the most devastating and suffocating "travel experience" I have ever encountered in my life, and boy! I wouldn't wish even my enemy to go through such an experience. Tueeh!

Lots of them do too but we would always just bear it because we bend for them all the time. It's how we're programmed. If a White person smelled offensively or became rude on a plane we are highly unlikely to eject them from a plane, let alone with their 'precious and innocent' White children.

When I left England for Nigeria, the Nigerians thought of me as unhygienic because I bathed once a day. They didn't know that I thought I was doing good for in England , the average English person bathed once a week. The average Nigerian bathed three times a day – more if they have a busy social life (for in addition to bathing three times a day as tradition they also bathed before going out and when they return home.

I try not to include my personal bias when judging a case like this..of course as a Nigerian myself, I will be predisposed to thinking there is racism involved and if I was her lawyer, I would argue the same because my intention obviously is to win the case for my client at all costs. But as a neutral observer, and taking other factors into consideration, like the airlines history, the fact that white people too get kicked off flights frequently and the Nigerian factor of our well known unruly behavior, I cannot fully make that judgment or assumption untill more accounts and evidence is presented. Simple.
