And cleaners don't work in hospitals? The same disparity JOHESU is complaining about is the same disparity that is at play in your statement. So cleaner's don't have a role in the hospital Abi?

Receive sense! sad
international best practices right?
youve forgotten its also international best practices to have healt workers at times to lead hospitals as this is an issue of Management not medicine.
infact
what right have you to seek for such, what have you done to the nigerian patient or people to seek fo such have your forgotten that outside world we have your mates that dont kill people vie wrong diagnosis, or during surgery when they criminally cover their heinous errors during surgery operations.abeg you guyz and nigerian senators are all thesame, seeking for the best when youve not done anything to deserve it. what disease or treatment have you discovered like your fellow international best practicing doctors?

This is anti union activity grin grin
No be all of una be johesu?

Cleaners, mortuary attendants, pharmacists,Bsc nurses, all in d same union.

Yesterday a Johesu member woke me up by sending a Video of residency in pharmacy from John-Hopkins. He further went on to claim Doctors must not always lead hospitals. When I was done with him he looked dumber than he started. The residency program is a 2 year program. 1st year is a rotational program in the hospital and 2nd year is writing a dissertation on an area of interest. When they are done they don't become consultants, rather leaders in the area they have majored. How does that equate to the rigorous 6years medical residency program.

On leadership, the top 5 hospitals in the world, including John Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland clinic, etc all have their CEOs as Doctors. There's no hospital in US that has a lab scientist or attendant as CEO.

Such a shame for Nigeria. But unfortunately, medical practice in this realm, may be doomed forever.

Stop lying to the public. Mayo Clinic, John Hopkins, Cleveland Clinic and all the top 5 clinic in the US have Doctors as CEO. Johesu should have branches there. Show me one hospital in the US or UK with a Lab scientist or nurse as it's CEO.

The irony of the strike. Johesu are on strike but majority of the patients we treat now are johesu members or their relatives and the question is , why coming to hospital for treatment when you are on strike. One even rushed his son to our hospital yesterday, we resuscitated the dying child and even transfused the child. The man is a senior lab scientists in support of the strike, all these while the blood bank was locked up but when we requested for blood for his child, he secretly got the keys from.his colleague and they provided us with the blood we need. God is watching us all. Your career is what you chose for yourself don't envy others, if you want to earn like a doctor pls go and be one. So many JOHESU members now hang sthethoscope and doctors stickers on their car, impersonating to be doctors. Pls be proud of your profession and don't immitate others, I wonder what you are teaching your children
When they or their close relatives fall sick, they make sure they consult even d most junior doctor.
But with members of the public, they start forming boss, writing prescriptions, you will start to hear stuff like "she is a senior matron of over 30yrs experience, she knows more than doctors sef".

First and foremost those accident victims aren't members of johesu but contract cleaners and potters who went for a colleague's function. Secondly, medical practitioners aren't on strike and so should work for the salary they are paid for rather than blabbing. Thirdly johesu members attend to them, their family and those who they have finished half way in their private hospitals during their own strike. So y the noise and publicity for doing what u are paid to do. It's a shame

pls pls pls this bad belle doctors should face their work and allow others to progress

The envy, hatred and sheer ignorance will not allow you to know what you are writing. To you all men are not created equal but you are agitating for equal pay and status with doctors. To you a doctor diagnosing ulcer in a cancer patient is wrong diagnosis, that shows why you can never pass 2MB talk more of becoming a doctor in your life. Now let me educate you a little. 1. A cancer patient on chemotherapy which is drug treatment of cancer will develop ulcer that is called STEROID induced ulcer 2. Some chronic ulcers can degenerate to gastric cancer especially when not properly managed over a long time. 3. Some of the symptoms of cancer is anorexia which leads to ulcer and weight loss. I can go on and on. 4. When treating a cancer patient, you treat also the complications, anyway you won't understand eg when a doctor is treating you for malaria, he will give antimalarial drug, he will also give you antipyrexia, he will also counsel the patient to use insecticide treated mosquito net, clean environment etc that is PREVENTION, but you don't know that all these goes, Sorry dear. A doctor treats the patient as a whole being not as a unit, we manage everything starting from symptoms to signs to complications and even to adeverse effect of the drugs we use in treating the patient but you are not a doctor and can never be one because you are mentally and intellectually lazy to even ask the doctor to educate you on the reasons for his diagnosis, all you care is salary increament and to answer CONSULTANT. My dear do your self a favour, (you stop learning when you are old), so whenever you are confused, politely approach the doctor for explanation, they are always willing to teach you for free.

I just pray you don't have any reason to go to a govt hospital this period.. You will know the impact of this strike when nobody is there to attend to you. No nurse to issue card or even take vital signs. No lab to conduct tests.. If you need a breather.. Nobody to administer ICU.. No specialist to administer anaesthesic.. This nonsense should stop.

, Since the DOCTORS claim they can do without them why are they transferring patients to private hospitals, let me see how they will work without medical test results. Daylight witches, how does it affect them if government increase the salary of the workers on strike, a doc spent just 2 yrs more in school than me and its salary is 4yrs ahead of me yet they can't even treat gonorrhoea without running to me. Even Cs they can't do properly, patients keep dying because of their carelessness. Witches

Our attention has been drawn to news making the round that UBTH JOHESU EXCO members were involved in a road traffic accident today 19.05.2018 on their way to Auchi in Edo state.

While there was indeed a road traffic accident:
** the victims are neither UBTH JOHESU EXCO
NOR MEMBERS**

We understand the desperation of the sponsors of this false news to always seek ways to score cheap points but we are saddened by the fact that they could descend so low as seeing the pain and anguish of the accident victims as something to be celebrated to the extent of uploading the pictures of this NIGERIANS IN PAIN to the whole world.

I want to state here again that this news is not correct as no UBTH JOHESU MEMBERS were involved in any kind of accident today and we shall by the GRACE OF GOD NOT BE INVOLVED IN ANY.

We want to advise ARD/NMA members to always check their facts and avoid rushing into conclusions so as not to continue spreading falsehoods to the general public.

They could have asked questions and get correct answers before painting the social media red with this lies.

I advice the NMA to avoid wishing JOHESU MEMBERS evil as evidenced by the way they celebrated this falsehood on the social media.

WE WISH THE VICTIMS OF THIS R.T.A A VERY QUICK RECOVERY.

WE ALSO APPEAL TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO PREVAIL ON THE MINISTERS OF HEALTH AND LABOUR TO QUICKLY PUT AN END TO THIS STRIKE BY DOING THE NEEDFUL.

Why play politics with people's lives? Did u even enter d emergency room? U drove the same official car u have parked at home since the commencement of the JOHESU strike despite being a management staff to the hospital after we finished stabilizing the patients. U met d cmac & I outside d A&E and u left us there without entering A&E. Now you are here posting that patients with compound fractures and varying degrees of dislocations and severe avulsion injuries have minor cuts? Are u this wicked? Did any member of JOHESU step his or her feet into the A&E all through the 2 hours we spent resuscitating and stabilizing these patients? Are you aware the lock to the caravan which u people locked and went away with was broken just to have access to materials to use in saving these patient's lives? Do u know we did not bother going to the pharmacy to look for any drug? Its because even before u proceeded on ur strike the hospital pharmacy was already moribund and the pharmaceutical store outside the hospital already took over. We simply stepped outside the hospital to get the drugs and fluids we used. Do u know we used ordinary hands to suture those bleeding wounds as we couldn't gain access to any suturing pack locked up by u people? Are u aware half of these patients require formal surgeries as soon as they are stable enough? Are u d ones to operate on them? Do u know d full meaning of ORIF my brother? Were u or any member of ur striking union interviewed by any of TV stations? Are u aware NTA & ITV captured me while saving the lives of these patients and interviewed me thereafter? Are you equally aware channels news crew were in touch with me all through this process? Did u by chance see any of their camera sir? I haven't really said much. Only asking pertinent questions..

Believe me this is a useless, baseless, incitive and public a brainwashing post.

Tell me, if this happens to the doctors will pharmacists, med lab scientists, nurses, physiotherapists and radiographers (when not on strike) not attend to them?

You see, in Nigeria, we shy away from the real issue and concentrate on things that only take us away from reality and realization of whatsoever good we ought to achieve.

As long as money and professional rivalry continue to be the reason for strike actions in our health sector, I swear to God that we'll continue to be DOOMED!!!!

How can doctors say that they'll go on strike if FG adjust the remuneration of JOHESU members? What nonsense and most senseless thing I've ever heard.

The issue of parity that the doctors and minister of doctors are deceiving and confusing the public on is a BIG LIE ...JOHESU never asked for parity.

Imagine nurses chairman denying cleaners because of politics.
Let JOHESU Speak for themselves not nurses trying to deny other members.
This is very bad that UBTH JOHESU Leader will allow other unions to issue false statements on its behalf due to politics.
It is obvious that nurses dont see other members of the union as part of them and wont allow cleaners to receive equal pay with them but are demanding to receiving almost equal pay and entitlements with doctors.
