Hi all. This business idea is not a new one at all and some Nigerians are already making money from it just that only a few people really knows how it works. It's all about buying and reselling of EXPIRED domain names. This is quite easy and anybody can do it provided you can read, write and get the required information. That's why this new thread is created.


Why expired domain name you may ask. Yes, these are domain names that the original owner failed to renew and some of those domains ate still good with a lot of popularity, cost per click and SEO. Once this domains are dropped, you simply research and pick up the right ones, then you go elsewhere and resell for profit. Each expired domain name cost $9 and you can resell any amount you like. Reselling don't have a fixed price. Personally my first sale when I first started was $550 USD with an investment of $9 dollars.the name if the domain is danbaba.com

On September 15th, I picked up an expired domain at N2,185 ($4.99 dollars), contacted several end users and resold it $499 exactly after 7 days after registration. $461 Dollars was paid after commissions. My exchanger paid me N144,080. Screenshot for those that may doubt.

Quick things to consider why going for an expired domain name for monetization. As I wrote earlier, not all domain names are valuable or selleable so what do you consider?

1. Stick to .coms: upon all the new extensions coming up, .com extension still leads.

2. The shorter the better.

3. Go fir product or service related domains. It's hot cake.... More coming.

One of the fastest methods sell a domain name is to contact potential end-users. How do I mean? You contact some potential end users bearing similar keyword with your domain name and ask them if they would be interested to buy your domain name. For example, I bought Austinsolarcompany.com, searched for end-users by going to Google and type Austin solar company. I saw slot of them, mail them one by one using the domain sales letter, the following day, I sold it $200 via namesilo marketplace.

Other ways and places to sell domain names are marketplaces. I use afternic, undeveloped and namesilo all in .coms however I have sold more domains via namesilo compared to ant other marketplaces and they remove 7.5% on every sale irrespective of any amount you sold the Domain. Funds are ready for withdrawal 7 days after sale.

your question is unique. These is where the main work lies. Majority of EXPIRED domain names are craps. Newbies often do mistake in this area. However There are basic softwares and tools for these. There are some websites too that will assist you on this. I will analyze this later.

Another area to make money with expired domain names is called domain parking. If your domains qualifies for parking, you take it to a parking company, the company in turn will scatter adverts on the said domain and it will look exactly like a website. Once someone visits that domain and CLICK any advert, you the domain owner will earn a commission. Payments are issued on the 7th of every new month and you can rollover if you don't want to withdraw yet.

On parking, not all domains qualify for parking. Major things to consider in parking are:

Traffic ranking; Alexa or similaweb to determine this.

Cost per click (CPC)

Payment was delayed because the Domain is not yet eligible for transfer and the buyer said that he don't want a domain push, that he preferred to wait.

Pleased with this sale but would have preferred it got sold via namesilo.
