Canadatlast:I hope you're not mixing provident funds and pension funds? I hear you can take all your provident funds but not your pension funds.. There was also a screenshot from CIC regarding this 25% pension fund ish in part 1 or 2. Can @glitteringstar do us the honour of digging up when she has some time on her hands. |

Canadatlast:You just woke up from your Canadian slumber and you expect everything to remain the way you left it? Please go and test the 100% pension funds and get back to us. We've had this argument before and there's a screenshot from CIC to back it up. Once you do it and you're successful, others will follow but for now biko stop giving people false hope. |

@mcstan18 I understand your stance and it makes sense to seek clarification. The thing is, clarification has already been sought and gotten in previous threads. I wish with all my heart that he/she is right (it would also help my own POF hustle) but you know better. They say that a drowning man will clutch at a straw, that's all that this is. In other news, I pray for the ITA rain to beat you mercilessly today ![]() |

You can use 100% depending on the plan you have with them. If it is the regular savings plan, Mutual Benefit must state that on the letter. They will also make reference to the cash surrender value cos that is what you are entitled to if you are liquidating before maturity. Fret not cos it's only the accrued interest they will deduct from if you want to access the money before maturity. Your premium contribution should be intact. Again, it depends on your plan. Read the T&Cs on your policy doc. Discuss with your account manager to ensure that they write accordingly. Hubby has quite a good sum with them, so we insisted on what we wanted on the letter. ysteph: |

mcstan18:I enjoyed removing your blue ink ![]() In my opinion, the 25% is accepted because it usually makes up a marginal portion of POF. If for instance, 25% can constitute 40% of total POF, one would still have 60% of more liquid funds. That 60% should be able to carry you for four months after landing shae? So your 25% still kicks in within the six months. And in any case, if I were to just guess, in a majority of cases the pension 25% is a very marginal portion of POF. Especially with the way our private sector structures pay to minimise pension contributions. |

Thank you for this. My plan is the regular savings. I am entitled to 50% since the account is more than 2 years. I'm relieved to know its the interest i'll lose if i liquidate before maturity. I'll speak with my accounts officer because i need to use 100% for this process. Newmum0615: |

this issue of Nigerians going to the US to crossover to Canada illegally, won't it affect we that are going through express entry since it has shown our dear country in a bad light? |

bbaby84:God bless you, change is the only constant in life. Visa offices don't exist in a vacuum they have staff and consultants who are paid to advise them on country specific local policies. Consular guidelines are virtually updated on a daily basis. Between January and now, there have already been so many changes to express entry guidelines... It's even possible that the old pensions act allowed 100% withdrawal before age 50. I stop here my typing power have finish. |

oloriTj:Might affect Perceptions of Canadians towards Nigerians and make it more difficult to get house for eg. But it can't affect our EE application process negatively. |

Talk to your the person managing your account with them. You should be able to use 100% of your savings with them. But check what your contract with them says. Let the letter they give state that you can withdraw all you have less some deductions from the interest as usual. ysteph: |

You cannot have two passports. You biometric data with them will show you have an existing passport. However, you can change the information on your old passport. The existing passport will be cancelled without prejudice. SremmLife: |

Guy, abi lady pick a hustle naa. Only you don't need the pension funds, only you still really needs it It's nobody's fault if you are able to complete your POF abeg. Everyone is in one struggle for POF or something else. We don't all go burning other people's cables. So because your 25% can't get you 100% of your POF, you want to go and send mail to CIC. Like CIC doesn't already know what it is tenable in Nigeria. I am very sure that IRCC knows more about our extant laws than some of us here. You can do your investigations without projecting your frustrations on us here. Na only you get POF problem? What even stops you from using 100% of your POF and coming to give us news of your PPR. You abandoned Canada dream a while back and resumed and then expect everything to remain the way they were years ago.Abeg chill, don't use your reggae to spoil people's blues jare. Use your 100% by yourself, for yourself and with yourself When you are sucessful, comman tell us. We will celebrate with you and maybe follow suit. Till then, allow us enjoy our 25% like that!Canadatlast: |
