Pls, if you have gone through this lane or know anyone who has done soo successfully, kindly direct me to them. I am in a fix here and the only option that seem available is to insist on WES not to evaluate the degree and only focus on the masters cert.
ArcUgo:
My advice to you is that you should endeavor to send the IJMB transcript/result. I know it may be frustrating and time consuming but evaluating both degrees now may benefit you guys in future. When you finally get the PR Visa you may need an ECA for Job hunting or schooling by then you wouldn't go through this stress again. Just my two cents sha the decision is ultimately yours.

Hi everyone. Please i need help on how to package luggages, especially our nigerian foods in between to canada. Types of bags to use, where and how to get in naija for those who have already done that. Thanks in advance and good luck to those expecting their PR.

Use ziploc bag, it's clear, items would be visible and you could get this in stores

Some people (I wont mention names) have enough pension funds such that 25% covers the required amount. If you use this as 100% POF, CIC will not reject it just the same way you can use your gratuity if your employer or the trustee can write to say how much you have and that it will be available after you resign.

Tojued:

I enjoyed removing your blue ink grin

In my opinion, the 25% is accepted because it usually makes up a marginal portion of POF. If for instance, 25% can constitute 40% of total POF, one would still have 60% of more liquid funds. That 60% should be able to carry you for four months after landing shae? So your 25% still kicks in within the six months.

And in any case, if I were to just guess, in a majority of cases the pension 25% is a very marginal portion of POF. Especially with the way our private sector structures pay to minimise pension contributions.

Thank you.
I appreciate.

My brother/sister, I've had to Google the topic in the past. The Indians usually use provident funds and are able to access almost all of it, if not all of it ( as read on Canadavisa) but we use pension funds and the law allows you to access 25% when you've been out of a job for 4 months and above.

You will need to read the fine print of your mutual benefits assurance account. We used pension funds too and stanbic wrote the 25% clause in the letter.

Good Morning Everyone.
I have been a silent reader and been on this Journey since November,2017. I have done my WES, passed IELTS and i am presently in the Pool.

1st IELTS : L 7.5 R7.5 S7.5 W 7

2nd IELTS : L 8.5 R7.5 S 7 W 7.5

I decided i needed to Increase my CRS (435) to 441 as i presently don't have a Masters degree so gave IELTS another shot and i was humbled.

3rd IELTS: L8 R7.5 S 7.5 W 7

I was so pained and i decided just to wait for the score to drop. But then I have a 9 to 5 that is driving me crazy at at the same time motivates me on this PR Journey.

I have registered for another IELTS in June and also picked up the PG form in Noun last Month.

I really do pray i get to testify soon and getting My PR this year.

This Forum is very informative regardless of all the banters.

CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS IN THE HOUSE ( ICAN )

ICAN, CIMA Sign Membership Pathway Agreement

The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (the Association) and The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) have signed a groundbreaking Membership Pathway Agreement (MPA) to advance the accounting profession in Nigeria by broadening access to their professional qualifications and resources.

The Association, the unified voice of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the America Institute of CPAs (AICPA), will provide an expedited pathway to the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation for ICAN members who meet experience and exam requirements.

ICAN members who qualify for the CGMA designation will also earn membership of CIMA and the Association, gaining the support of the world’s most influential body of accountants – a worldwide network of 667,000 professionals and students – as well as an expansive portfolio of tools to develop their competencies across practice areas.

ICAN will reciprocate by providing an accelerated route to membership which includes examination, leading to the Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification for eligible CGMA designation holders.

The MPA between the Association and ICAN, sealed at an event held in Abuja on 21 May 2018, is a continuation of both bodies’ efforts to advance finance professionals in Africa to meet the needs of an evolving business environment.

Speaking of the partnership, CIMA Africa Regional VP Badi Promesse, FCMA, CGMA, MBA said:
“This groundbreaking agreement is a continuation of our commitment to driving a dynamic accounting profession that will enable professionals to meet the needs of a rapidly changing world. It will expand opportunities for the most highly qualified professional accountants across Nigeria and Africa, enhancing the breadth of their knowledge and the quality of insight they can provide in value creation and preservation.”
