It is not a sin but not advisable . You can easily fall into temptation especially if the male friend is attractive and not a true christian.

The point is this ; why sniffing what you don't want to eat?

What is the purpose of keeping a male friend ?

The only true friend you need is Jesus .

Consider these Scriptures :

James 1:14-15 KJV
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. [15] Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV
Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Surely we do need human friends , but how can you know a true friend ?

Keep a female friend instead of a male friend who can become an instrument of temptation now or in the future. At the same time , don't totally trust any friend but God.
