Mujtahida:

No big names there na. Abi Agu, Ogu, Agbo, Onazi, Etebo are now big names? Only Ndidi and Joel have big names.

This Nwakali dey do una fantasy something ooo.

But I really don't know why we have so many DM in the team.

It should have been 3 creative players and 3 destructive players.

Once Mikel is out we are likely out. Somebody said here that our WC will go as far as Mikel can go.

Those guys are big names in Nigeria football. They make the back pages of Nigerian dailies. I'm talking about those who don't get as much coverage as those guys. The unknowns. Therein lies your creative midfielders, I dont know why but it is very difficult for top European clubs to sign attacking midfielders from Africa. They prefer signing and developing centre backs and DMs from Africa.

This is exactly what I mean. Even Kwado Asamoah was turned to a left-back. He used to be a very good attacking midfielder.

Regardless of what happens at the world cup....

We know that:

1. Gernot Rohr is a coach that upholds loyalty as his motto
2. The 2018 world cup list is based firstly on Loyalty and then performance.
3. Post world cup is gonna be interesting because there wont be hiding place for the gaffer. He is currently spoiled for choice now
4. Future is bright if we are able to get a right blend of players without sentiments attached

The Match should have been played in Uyo..... that's all I've got to say. I really can't blame the lackadaisical Performances of most of the Players, coz playing on a grazing Field is an arduous Task.

Though Joel was poor, so was Iheanacho and Co as well. Rohr shouldn't cut the List yet, he should rather wait till after Wembley Showdown.

I wanna see Joel, Agu, Simmy, Aina, Lokosa and perhaps Ajiboye for the last time, then we can come to fair Conclusions on possible Players to make the List. Had the Match played at GAIS in Uyo, it would have been easy for Rohr to decide the 25-Man List.

No Player(s) has been officially dropped, all the Names People are reeling out are simply Speculations.

somehow:

BTW, cant some of the DMs play CD?

If we have like 1 or 2 that can play CD if need be, then we should take fewer CBs.

Another option: Do we have CBs that can play DM?

Shehu is DM but can play RB. I would want us to have more attacking minded players than defence becaude goals win games and not defending.
All this funny posts of defence not winning you games.

It makes us short in that department. Nigeria plays attacking football. I'm not happy that this team is predominantly described as a counter attacking team.

Don't act like you didn't know there were players that were bound to be dropped wether they shine or not except injury happens to the regulars. Lokosa ,Eze,Ajiboye were never gonna make the team to Russia.

what is Martins? Injured Martins? Is that who Rohr should have given a chance?

Are you serious? Can you say that if Martins was fit, Rohr wouldn't have called him up same way he called up Simy and Lokosa as reward for good performance?

You too dey yarn opata

So, when he was fit, why didn't he try him?

Dey lie dey go say Rohr gave those two players chance.

MetalJigsaw:
Ezeji: Simy Nwankwo, Lokosa Should Make Eagles World Cup Squad
May 28, 2018 10:46 pm

Former Nigeria striker Victor Ezeji has urged Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr to include Crotone striker Simeone Nwankwo amd Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) top scorer Junior Lokosa of Kano Pillars in his 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Both Nwankwo, also known as Simy, and Lokosa made their debuts for the Super Eagles in their 1-1 draw against Democratic Republic of Congo in a friendly on Monday in Port Harcourt.

The two debutants gave a good account of themselves, especially Nwankwo who went close on several occasions and hit the post but was unlucky not to score.

Speaking as a pundit on SuperSport, Ezeji, who played for Sharks, Dolphins, Enyimba, Eagles Cement during his 20-year playing career, posited that Nwankwo would be a very good option to have in attack alongside Odion Ighalo.

“Simeone keeps the ball, attacks the ball and shows a lot of qualities. Odion Ighalo cannot do it all alone,” Ezeji said.

“I know a a good striker when I see one. So for me Simeon should be in Russia.

“For Junior, he can also make the squad to Russia although he is still growing. He is young and may not have the experience but with his performance against Congo, he can be considered.”

Up next for the Eagles is another friendly against 2018 World Cup-bound England in Wembley Stadium on Saturday, June 2.

Elénu méjì (double mouthed clown) .... At half time he wasnt sold on Simmy ... leaning more towards Lokosa. All we needed to see was that Simmy shot that rattled the crossbar like Yekini against Ahmed Shoubeir in 94 afcon for us to know the guy is a real deal.

He was even clamouring for a different 9 for the 2nd half

That pitch they played in and video quality of the match just further highlight the shamelessness of Nigerian Football Federation. If I was the President disciplinary action must be taken. That was unacceptable in all grounds...I was enraged by the whole nonsense

Victor Moses. Really, it’s not just one or two players. We need the right combinations. So far we’ve Had test games. we need to use our last two friendlies to see if our team is still in shape with all the regulars playing. Moses Simon will be missed at the WC.

Mujtahida:

Which of the Moses? If it is Vicmo he was the one that destroyed Cameroun, with S. Moses adding his own blows. That was our best match of the WCQ.

If you are a GOtv Subscriber, tune in to SS Select 2 and see the Difference between a standard Field and a grazing Field.

What makes the Game so interesting is the State of the Stadium. Cameras were positioned at the appropriate Corners for standard Coverage.

Eagles should never play any Match in Portharcourt except the Pitch is fixed. I expect Ambode to do a world-class turnaround on National Stadium at Surulere before 2020.

He's definitely gonna renovate the Stadium to becoming even a tourist Attractions to the World. Lagosians gonna be enjoying Eagles play live in Lagos very soon.

Disciplinary action against who? Wike brought that game to PH, and Pinnick obliged without monitoring the progress of whatever was done to the pitch. An inspection should have been done 2 weeks prior to ascertain it’s state, before taking a final decision on the venue

Apparently Eze, Lokosa and Ajiboye have slim chances respectively of making the List, but anything can happen still. I can't rule them out completely yet, coz I ain't part of the Coaching Crew.

Whoever makes the List is fine by me. All I wanna see is my darling Eagles soaring higher in Russia.

Uche Agbo
Daddy Moses Simon
Junior Lokosa.

Dropped...

No surprises!!

2 to go..
If this true, then Rohr is planning to stick with the core member of the team. But Lokosa's performance yesterday was enough to take him to London. Well the coach knows more than we do

Then Pinnick should get a suspension. That pitch is an embarrassment to the whole nation and that is because somebody didn't do their job.

who else noticed when Rohr shouted at his bench that they should be warming up instead of sitting and watching? Those players thought they won't feature in the match cos they felt big already@Ighalo and controls. Lol

I'd love a player like Bale.... Fuming at being on the bench and then come on and outshine the perceived oga nla that's is flopping.
i wanted to ask why Rohr was shouting at his bench. But sleep no gree me ask. Well if this is the reason, the players need to gear up attitude wise.

he gave Nwakaeme a chance, 75 minutes of it. He gave Kayode a chance, at least twenty minutes of it.

It took Simy 11 minutes to show what he's made of. Rohr realizes he hasn't seen a striker that was so threatening, many fans agree with him, so, he certainly cannot be wrong

How can he see striker that is more threatening if he doesn't give them chance?

This is where the NFF's technical committee comes in. It is their job to hire a coach whose style and philosophy is consistent with the Nigerian tradition (I'm not indicting Rohr yet).
One of the reasons Arsenal hired Emery came with the caviar he will play the Arsenal way. Jose Mourinho lost his job at Madrid when he played negative football which was against the traditions of Real. He could loose his job at Manchester because of this same reason.
