Hello!

There's no problem with your biometrics.

it's a common trend now that paper route applicants do not get biometrics completed till the visa is being approved. I'm in that shoe now alongside lots of other people.
oh wow! Thanks for the information. How about the background check and eligibility review status? Is yours same as mine? When did you submit your application?

Hi, this is the 5th week since I applied for my study permit! As at the time that I put in my application, the estimated processing time as stated in CIC site was 7weeks! I submitted via the paper route and even did my biometrics same day but it still hasn't been updated as completed. Eligibility review hasn't even commenced. The only thing that was updated on my page about 2weeks ago was my upfront medical report, which shows "passed medicals"! Is this slow normal? I submitted my application on the 27th of April, and my estimated time for a response is 15th June. I got admitted for a one year Masters of Public health at University of Western Ontario which is a highly ranked school in Canada and I am a Pharmacist.

Note: My school resumes 2nd September!
calm down. When you apply through paper route. Biometric remain that way they don't update it. Everyone should note that except online app , biometric will be updated to completed. So there is no cause for alarm OK. As for your application please give it some little time again. OK.

Please I want to confirm if paper route study permit applications are processed in Lagos because the message from VFS then was that my application has been forwarded to the embassy in Lagos.

I'm asking so I can be sure which office to direct my case specific enquiry.

If there's anyone who applied via paper route, has been approved and has collected stamped passport, please confirm the office where the application was processed !

I understand the outcome of your medicals would be updated at ur online account within 3-5 days. But on when your trv will be approved, CIC is the most unpredictable organization ive ever known. Lol

Please my elder ones, I am a newbie in this room and I want your orientation towards application s.
Talking about international application experience, I am good and I know it myself.
Is it compulsory to use agent for postgraduate admission in Canada?
I want to apply for postgraduate course in Educational management at University of Saskatchewan, but my undergraduate CGPA is 3.82/5.00. Hope this CGPA qualifies for MSC in Canada!

Biko, I hear people saying they transferred funds to a Canadian bank account and used the Canadian bank statement for visa. How do they do this please? As I am interested. What I found out is that banks will need your trv or study permit or pr before you open an account from Nigeria. Pls any one with knowledge on this should help me out.

Thank you.

You will need to get a lawyer or notary public to verify your documents. They usually request for international passport, drivers license and you study permit/introductory letter from CIC. If you contact a bank in canada from Nigeria, these are the documents required for you to verify through a lawyer.

Hope this helps.

Hello guys, I just got a conditional offer for MBA 2 year course in Thompson Rivers University Fall 2018. They told me to send the official transcripts & pay my first semester fees(CAD$ 8K) within 21 days for them to send me the full unconditional letter which I can use to apply for the student permit.
Will paying that ease my visa acceptance?
It should be noted that I already have an MSc from the UK in Petroleum and was refused a Canadian student visa in November 2017 for another school in Alberta.
Thanks for any input.
May God help us all TRV hopefuls.

How do I send such? Hope it doesn't show sign of desperation because my school resumes in September.

IF YOUR APP IS MORE THAN THE AVERAGE PROCESSING TIME, CLICK HERE TO SEND A CASE SPECIFIC ENQUIRY TO CIC
Phocusjosh,

You've answered your first question with the above link shared by you. Sending a Case specific Enquiry email to CIC when an application has exceeded the stipulated processing time does not show sign of desperation. CIC is aware of this and has given every applicant the privilege to do so.

Congratulations in advance!

Bro

The CSE should be directed to the embassy in Lagos.

Info on CIC website suggests Lagos office is responsible for study permits in Nigeria.

Lemia,

Don't let the automated email which you got after successful submission of your study permit application confuse you. Lagos visa office recieves study permit applications, after which they transfer it to the processing office which is Nairobi or Accra for paper route, while online applications are mostly processed at London or Turkey. So far so good most visa approvals and refusals I have seen from prospective applicants are coming from the above mentioned offices, I haven't set my eyes on Lagos visa office issuing visa for study permit.

HOW TO OPEN A CANADIAN BANK ACCOUNT FROM NIGERIA

Make sure you have a solicitor/lawyer stand by to notarized all your documents before kick starting the process.

reichwolf,

You can go ahead and complete the first term tuition deposit requested by the university and send the official transcripts quickly so as to acquire an unconditional acceptance offer for your study permit application. Again, be guided that payment of upfront tuition is not a prerequisite to visa approval. When it comes to Canada study visa, your duty is to certify the visa officer that you will leave Canada at the end of the authorized stay by providing strong ties to your home country. You must also present justifiable reasons to why you're going for a second masters degree in Canada rather than a Phd to show progression. What is your current activity? Is it related to business?

Your application is likely to be processed at Kenya Nairobi or Accra. Lagos visa office doesn't process study permit applications. They are meant to receive applications after which they transfer them to the above named offices.

dubaiboy1,

Are you currently on a visiting Visa in Dubai? If so, you will have to return to your home country to apply for your study permit. But if you're a on a Student Visa or permanent residence over there, then you are eligible to apply from Dubai. I don't seem to understand what you mean by the bolded words. Do you mean to say your uncle has given his documents to a distant relative last year for visa application? If so? Yes you can use his documents, try everything humanly possible to get an updated bank statement from him and know the progress of the previous relative he gave his financial documents to be sure if the applicant application is still undergoing processing with CIC or finished, so that the applicant application won't collide with yours(i.e using one (1) person to sponsor two (2) different applications.
More so, in a situation where by this is a maternal uncle, attach your mom marriage certificate, birth certificate and uncle birth certificate and international passport bio data page to evident that both of them once shared same family name.
In addition, you can as well show strong proof of relationship with uncle, which can be history or ongoing financial support from him.

All the best!

hello boss, for someone that have a degree in economics, work experience in Document Control, is it ok to go for MSc in Human Resources or will it raise an eyebrow during visa application. Please I need your advice thanks.
Also, how about MSc in information management system?
Cboss,

Economics itself is an academic subject while
HRM is a vocational one. You have to explain to the visa officer on your SOP the strong correlation between your previous studies, current employment and proposed program by listing out some courses which you did during your undergraduate studies that are pre-requisite to your intended program in HR. Go through your university departmental program website to find some courses. Most times, People studying HRM or business related program normally need to take a few economics modules to understand some underlying principles of how economic factors affect business. You may also decide to say you wish to further in a vocational subject that focuses on specific cooperate jobs that will be of an added advantage to your portfolio and an immense potential to your career prospects back home.

My advise is that you go for MSc in HR
