The Punch news papers chairman wale aboderin is dead. He died today after a brief illness. Sources said he was flown abroad and gave up the ghost. He was indeed a pillar of support to so many in this country. He is the elder brother of Jaiye Aboderin that slumped while playing basketball. And brother to Wunmi Obe. He was the founder of dolphins basketball foundation. Survived with a wife and two children. May his soul Rest In Peace.

The Chairman, Punch Nigeria Limited, Mr. Gbadebowale Wayne Aboderin, is dead.

He died on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 6.05am after a heart surgery at the age of 60.

He was also Chairman Punch Commercial Printing Limited and Lukahed Properties Limited.

He attended the Government College, Ibadan and trained as a pilot in the United States.

A sports enthusiast and philanthropist, he was the founder and chairman of the Dolphins Female Basketball Foundation, and also a former chairman of the Lagos State Basketball Association.

He was a one-time vice-president of the Nigerian Basketball Supporters Club.

He is survived by his wife, Titilayo and two daughters, Nicole and Cherelle.

This is really a big blow to the media industry if it turns out to be true.


Punch is no doubt one of the leading media outlets in this country, which I learnt was possible due to the impact of this man and some other people.


May God forgive him his sins and grant him eternal rest.

Death is inevitable. RIP. Everybody will eulogise him when his dead, but the never do that when he was a live.

Wale was the elder brother of Stella Damasus' husband, who slumped and died some years ago. Their father was one time chairman of UAC
