Just that when I look back and remember that our own Okonjo Iweala was trained there, yet she left our economy in tatters to the extent that the country was borrowing just to pay salaries, 27 out of 36 states could not pay salaries. All our saving buffers like; the foreign reserve, the excess crude account were equally depleted. Even the souvreign wealth fund did not record enough inflows that will sustain it. And all those things happened under her supervision at a time of plenty in the country. Not to talk of other fiscal policy imbalance. Even judging from outside, I can not even chose her ahead of any of these ones; Soludo, pat Utomi, Sanusi, Adesun and Emefela. Even though all of them except Adesun were trained here in Nigeria.

In her first stint as Finance minister under OBJ, she was instrumental in paying off the country's $30b debt, increasing the foreign reserves to $60b and excess crude reserves to $20b. That was why GEJ requested her as finance minister.

Unfortunately, while OBJ was a strong leader, GEJ was weak. As a minister , you can only advise. It is left for the government to take it.

My cousin usually goes ohhh your UI is overrated, ohhh you people just make noise about, he resumed classes for his MSC Economics just last week and he will not allow the whole house to hear anything aside his amazing one week experience at the first and the best university in the sub sahara region...

The ARWU, QS Rankings & THE Times Education are the most recognised ranking agencies. This CRWU, I cannot vouch for their quality.

At the bold: It depends on the ranking institution quoted from and methodology, UI is Nigeria's best. THE Times Education ranked it top 1000 globally and top 20 in Africa few years ago. So, however you look at it, UI is number one.

On the other hand, entering the top 500 should be the next thing.

for ur mind u don make sense abi? the fact that u had come across few UI graduates that did not meet up to your supposed expectation, it is not a sufficient reason to talk down on many high flies UI alumni that are making waves in Nigeria and beyond.
