First of all, shocking first half.. We lost the midfield battle.. Joel Obi was getting into everyone's way. Onazi kept misplacing passes.

Ebuehi is miles ahead of Shehu, How people do not see that, is baffling...

Ogu was great.. Ogu and Etebo stabilized the middle.

Ndidi and Ogu/etebo might be our best midfield combo.

Overall, good test..

I hope Joel Obi gets dropped.

Preach on chief
Ogu is the missing part of the puzzle in our midfield
Ndidi - Mikel - Ogu
2 wing backs

would Karius not be regarded as a better goalie than Uzoho?

When some of us called attention to the fact that this team is at best average earlier on this thread, Safarigirl and Tbaba almost skinned us alive. I hope we have all seen it.

I keep seeing another 2002 WC outing for Nigeria

1 point in 3 matches. I pray I'm wrong.
Please stop this nonsense narrative you are pushing !!! Who has denied that the team is average? What we would never do, I repeat never do is to be negative.

And then what's the big deal - if they get beat, they come home, if we progress that's credit.

Criticism is different from negativity abeg

They were both trash. Onazi has outgrown is usefulness in the super eagles, while sorry to say Joel Obi has no place in the Nigerian Midfield. He should stick to club football.

Onazi will go to the world cup but he honestly does not deserve it. Joel, Simi or Aina will pronably be dropped.

Lastly for the Czech game Iheanacho has to start. We already know Ebuehi and Ogu have automatically become a starters.

I agree

Look,I understand what you're saying but I don't agree with "it could have been 1:1 if..."

It could have been 1-0 if Enyeama hadn't gifted Pogba the ball, is this statement fair?

If you were the goalkeeper coach, will you look at that 2nd goal and tell him, he did well?

Omeruo is calm when under pressure while Balogun makes hasty clearances which lands in opponents feet, but Omerou sometimes is guilty of awkward unforced errors. I think he passes the ball better when under pressure.

Simy Nwankwo in my opinion might be Nigeria's joker in Russia. Ighalo is so unpredictable. He is very unstable, panics and does not have the composure characteristic of Nigerian forwards.

Onazi and Joel Obi should not be in that team. Mikel Agu might not be a better replacement but if he can move, position, tackle neatly and pass the ball better, then Onazi should leave the national team. He simply can't move and if he lacks mobility, he should at least keep the ball and utilize it better when he gets it but none of that happened tonight.

Uzoho saved Nigeria tonight coupled with England's wastefulness. They would have scored up to 6 good goals in the first half.

Ighalo in my opinion is not very useful. Simy Nwankwo need to step in and hopefully step up. He can offer Nigeria what Loftus Cheek offered England tonight. Loftus Cheek had the physical presence that intimidated Nigeria in the match. None of the Nigerian players could match him or get the ball off him. I think Nwankwo would give Nigeria what they have been missing. He has the physique and enthusiasm of Yekini, skill and falir of Kanu and the height and strength of Victor Agali and he can move and fast as well.

Nigeria should consider this match a win. The positives to take home would be the wrong report which Croatian and other spies would take home tonight. If Nigeria can compose themselves and survive 60mins of the matches in the world cup without conceding goals, they might come good.

But Onazi and Joel Obi need to leave the camp tonight. If anyone gets injured and Rohr could not get replacements, let them play with 21 men.

bro...you're spot on.
Joel Obi and onazi really need to leave this team....even if rohr should choose take onazi instead being an assistant captain...
he should keep him on the bench all through the mundial...dude doesn't deserve play in the field for now.

Hope you guys can see what etebo brought today, he’s the most flexible cm we have, impacted the game very well, gets my nod over onazi....pity we lost, we have sorted our midfield issues to some extent good cohesion and link up passes.
But it’s all the more dissatisfing that if we completed half of our passes in the final third we would have scored more, still an issues we always seem clueless and unsettled in front of goal.
But I was absolutely proud of our second half, ebuehi is our RB, no doubts, idowus game was the most pleasant feeling for me, he has adapted and has pretty much won his spot.
Ogu is class, that guy will play anywhere, was smooth and commanding when he played center defence, balogun I’m sure impressed his new suitors. We played England’s first team and our performance especially in the second half got southgate and those English boys nervous!

Of course, having a bad team and a very good goalkeeper, is just about delaying the inevitable but in this case, if his reflexes was sharper, he should have stopped that ball because it slipped right under him.
If we can't accept this much, it means we have really low expectations of those representing you and me.

The young man actually saved Nigeria tonight. If a goal keeper keeps you in the match, it shows how consistent the pressures from the opponent were. Uzoho and Iwobi did well. Mikel did better in the second half. Ogu brought some calm. Ebuehi brought in some degree of unpredictability. His runs distabilised the English.

If your midfield is consistently porous, it,ll only be a matter of time before the ball lands in the net no matter how good your keeper is. Uzoho did well and should be the no 1 goalie.

I hope Rohr has seen the schoolboy errors that was made today! Onazi utter half-hearted, half-witted performance, killed the vibe of the match. Joel Obi no show, just plunging into his team-mates, I guess it is safe to say goodbye to him and he should never come close to the team ever again. Iwobi, wonderful performance, superb, can't wait to see him play in the middle of the pitch, he can't keep wasting on the wings. VicMo should just play as part of the team, his selfish, individualistic play would get us nowhere, he keeps stinking up the joint ffs. Old habits they say never die, I think this issue of being on the back-foot from the blast of the whistle is still coming to haunt us. How do we deal with this nervy start to all our games? angry angry

Modified: Uzoho did quite well today, better than last game, he keeps improving while other members of the squad keeps regressing. I just can't deal...Joel Obi na God I take beg u, just quit the team yourself, remember to carry Onazi too angry angry

I agree with you, same thing happened against serbia, again it's down to confidence, these boys are lacking in confidence in our first half games and it's worrying. if uzoho had played in the first half in the argentina game, he would have conceded

Some people are afraid to admit it, but Uzoho is very bad a grounders. Trust our world cup opponents to test him with alot of grounders. An exam I'm afraid of the result.

everyone is important to the team , the guys that came in makes the game to become very fast ..EBUEHI, ETEBO AND OGU .... they increased the tempo of the game and effortlessly they brought in fluidity ... Croatia we have alot to worry for cos ... super Eagle style is kind of of complex .

I don't like how we took our legs off the pedal when we were on the ascendancy in the second half. It could easily have been a draw, which would not be a bad score for a game played at the Wembley stadium.

I would be quite surprised if Joel Obi makes the cut for Russia. He was piss poor in today's game. He's not been solid in all the games plates so far.

Onazi should not be starting our games. He's too erratic. He is chiefly the main reason we lost today's game.

Rohr needs to do something about our slow start to games. It's been perpetual. We could have been 3 goals down in the first 20 minutes. Good teams will punish us if we keep this habit up
.
@bolded should we play Germany with these lapses....we may concede 4 within the first 20 mins....

The first Half was completely off it. It's a Half to forget as quickly as possible cos its an Eyesore from the blast of the Whistle to the last Minute.

Rohr did a good Job in the 2nd Half of the Match. He twisted the Formation to 3 - 5 - 2 - played Omeruo as RCB; Ekong as CB; Ogu as LCB and it worked well defensively.

On the Flanks, Ebuehi proved himself once again that he's the best we've got as either a RB or a RWB. Idowu wasn't fantastic, hence I wouldn't mind seeing Aina play as a LWB or LB against Czech Republic.

In the Middle, I commended Rohr for doing the Needful and it was spot on. Etebo was very influential as a DM, Iwobi was outstanding until the last 15mins of the Match same as Mikel.

Upfront..... Moses is kinda too selfish for liking. I wish to see a better Moses in the next Game. Ighalo was average to be candid, thus I wish Rohr plays Iheanacho in the next Match.

Lest I forget, Uzoho has earned it, he should be the No. 1 Keeper for the Eagles at the Mundial.

Nna, the boy's skillsets are clear so I can't understand why they like to stick him out there in the wings. Even Arsene Wenger occassionally makes that same mistake as well.

O pari

What is killing our coach is not this so called average team bullshyte some trogs are crying up and down here. The coach is damn too conservative. He only tries new things when the situation is gone awry. He did it against Argentina, he was saved. Today again same thing.

Those players that played first half were basically chosen in accordance with the-you never - change - a - winning-team mantra. Winning team bawo?. I say the times have changed. This is not the age for mantras. This is not the age for formulas. You have to think and rethink your strategy.

Even with these set of players if the coach is a bit radical we can hurt teams and win games.
