It doésnt matter at all. I am an officer.while serving in the north,we share our ramadan food with our christian brothers. Infact! When I was transfarred to the western part, its still the same. But if you are a fanatic from both side, you may not accept.Ironically, you may reject the food and buy the same type from either a muslim or christian.

It is very wrong, because Moslem worship God through Mohammed which was a human being who dies some years ago and never resurrect. While Christian worship God through Jesus Christ Who came down from heaven to save mankind. He died and resurrected and he is alive.
Point of correction... You may worship ur god through Jesus but we Muslims do not worship God through Mohammed... We worship God directly!!!

ladiesreject:
That's muslims for you.

They persuade you to eat/drink from them but they will never eat or drink from you, especially if it's the food meant to be used in breaking fast by Christians.

Muslims by default are supposed to discriminate and hate non Muslim (Christians).

As for me oooo, I won't eat the food. Not because am a religious person, but because that's exactly what they'll do if you turn the tables.

Hey, am talking about real and practising muslims, not those who in one way or the other have some western influence in their lives.

Hausa people call them infidels
Oga, Don't judge a religion by the people practising it, because ISLAM came from the Arabs, does that mean they are the best of Muslims, hell no!

You can't say the Hausas are the most religious, just because ISLAM came to Nigeria through them.

And what you said about Muslims hating on Christians by default,

Allah(God) says We(Muslims) can eat the food of the people of the book(The Christians et Jews) except that of IDOL WORSHIPPERS.

About discrimination

ISLAM says Anybody that killed a fellow human being will have the sin of that person that killed all human race.

Don't judge ISLAM by the Muslims, Judge it by the Book(Al Quran)

I won't judge Christianity by Christians, but by The Bible

Quick one. Do you ask for the chef's religion before ordering food in a restaurant? Why do it to your neighbour?

Biblically, the Christian view is that it doesn't really matter as there is no longer any distinction between clean and unclean foods anymore, but then as Nigerians have the innate tendency to take religion to the extreme, accepting Ramadan food in some churches is seen as idol worship.

As for me though, food can't waste. That is the greatest sin grin

The last time I checked, Mulims are not idol worshippers, So why reject their food?
Personally, I don't see anything wrong with it.

I didn't want to comment on this issue before but it wont be fair not to enlighten those who think islam or Muslims are forbidden from eating christains food
According to the Qur'an
1) what type of foof is forbidden for Muslims:

“Forbidden to you for food are: the dead animals (not slaughtered), blood, the flesh of swine, and the meat of that which has been slaughtered as a sacrifice for other than Allah, or has been slaughtered for idols, or on which Allah’s Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering; and that which has been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by the goring of horns – and that which has been partly eaten by a wild animal – unless you are able to slaughter it before its death; and that which is sacrificed on stone altars. Forbidden also is to use arrows seeking luck or decision, all that is disobedience of Allah and sin.” [al-Māʼidah 5:3]

2) are Muslims allowed to eat food from christains or jews..
Answer: This day I have made lawful to you all that is good, and the slaughtered meat of the People of the Book (jews and christains) is halāl for you and your slaughtered meat is halāl for them.” [Quran 5:6].
So in other wordsYes!!! Because they're not considered as idol worshippers by the Quran and we believe in principle we came from the same Abrahamic religion (hanif) and thus worship the same God in "principle"... Though concept tends to differ when we expatiate... The verse quoted above also made our food lawful to them...

So as long as the food served by a Christian or jew doesn't contain the unlawful foods contained in the first question like pork, ham, meat offered for idols or blood meal and not properly slaughtered... Ee Muslims are allowed to eat and ask for more self if possible
BUT WE MUSLIMS AREN'T ALLOWED TO EAT CHRISTMAS FOOD NOT BECAUSE IT'S SERVED BY XTAINS BUT BECAUSE OF THE CELEBRATION INVOLVED WHICH YOU XTAINS WILL AGREE WITH ME THAT 25TH OF DECEMBER ISNT THE DAY JESUS WAS BORN BUT WHEN THE IDOLS OF THE ROMAN gods WERE WORSHIPED OR WHEN THE PEOPLE OF THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE WORSHIP THEIR SUN GOD AND ALSO XTAINS TAKE IT AS THE DAY IN WHICH THEIR GOD WAS BORN WHICH WE TAKE SERIOUS OBJECTION TO .... WELL THAT'S MY BIT, MAY GOD FORGIVE ME FOR THINGS I SAID WHICH IS WRONG

Christians are not like muslims in the regards to tolerance. Christians lead in that regard. And i believe most christians would receive or share Ramadan fast break even pray with them if time permits.

Also, Paul addressed this in the book of Corinthians, I'm a bit busy now so I can't give the verses right now but search through the gospel

Warmth greetings to us Nairaland family..
Happy Ramadan fasting to our Muslim brothers.
Quickly I want to ask, how right or rather proper for a non-muslim, particularly Christians to accept food/meat gift from our Muslim brothers, especially the ones used in breaking the fast..
My Muslim close associates have been gifting that persuasively and it now looks discriminatory to them, I'm a Christian by the way and they are well informed on that.

However this thread is never for religious warring or insults from anyone/religion against another, it's for better interreligious knowledge and information.

Your Lord dined with crooks and prostitutes.
He never discriminate..

And you are no way better than those Muslims.

Read 1 Corinthians 10: 20-23. Know ye not the things the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to the devil....

Muslims worship the god of sun and not the Almighty God Christians worship that is why they face East when praying. Don't forget that the Trinity Christians worship is omnipresent and is everywhere not residing only in East or Mecca. Eating their breakfast is tantamount to eating food from God's of iron, fire or masquerade so be warned.
It is actually the moon god. That is why they wait to spot the moon before Ramadan, have the crescent(half moon) as their MAJOR symbol and as one European who had extensively researched them said, they kiss a meteorite in that big black house in mecca when they go on pilgrimage. If you want info, just ask

It is not even as if the food is sacrificed to idols. Allah is the Arabic word for God and I know the Muslims worship only one God. They don't worship any other god except Allah.
Allah is not the Arabic word for God. Check the following sentence made by Muslims... there is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is his prophet.
if Allah means God, then will the sentence be reasonable if its said,,, there's no God but God, and Muhammad is his prophet?

Ask yourself....is it right to buy/eat food from a Muslim?...from an atheist? Do you find out? Biblically..... if you have doubts/believe you shouldn't eat a particular food ...it is unclean for you and pretty much a sin to eat it. The same with offering someone a particular food which you know he does not eat...e.g..offering a Muslim pork. (....who told you Muslims don't eat pork?)It is a sin for you to do so.

It is an abomination to eat with them or things offered unto idols.1 cor 10:20.you cannot partake of the lords tables and devils table.allah is an idol.most christians are ignorant of this fact and think we are serving the same God.major foods are charmed by the imam wizards and spells and curses cast on it.

The question is, Christians collecting food from Muslims during their Ramadan celebration or maybe the food they used in breaking their fast. How right is that...
If the food is given to you with the consciousness that it’s for Ramadan, don’t collect. Allah is an Arabian idol. He is not the true God Christians and Jews serve. Bible says don’t eat any food offered unto idol if you have the knowledge that it’s meant for idol. But if you don’t have any knowledge about what the food is meant for, you can eat it without asking ang question and putting your conscience in trouble. NB: This message is not for every so called Christian. But for true Christians.

Don't be clever by half. The exact quotation is " There is no god except Allah ( God) and Muhammad is his messenger. The first god begins with small capital which is even used or referred to in your Bible as "god" as idol god.
Stop your hypocrate. Allah is referred to God everywhere in the Quaran.

Another igrnorant post.
Worship of one god is called monotheism, but that does not equate two different deities.
Now lets move further.

If Allah equates to Jehova or Chineke or Eledumare or Yahweh, can you share where a moozlim calls or prays via those other names for God?
Lets stop all this equating of one god to another, for what purpose if I may ask.
Allah is Allah, Jehovah/Yahweh is Jehova, Sango is Sango, Obatala is Obatala.

This is not Algebra, A = C, and B = C therefore A = C. No religion does not meet reason or logic in that sense. All man to his lane.

I am not interested in the argument between you and the guy you quoted but let me point out something to you.

Allah has 99 names you can Google that. God says pray to him using those names, so to say we use Allah alone as name for God is baseless.
