The Nigeria Police Force has made known the reason it summoned Senate President Bukola Saraki to answer to allegations surrounding his links to the armed robbers who raided banks in Offa in April.
It said five principal suspects, among 15 others paraded in Abuja in connection to the Offa robbery, indicted the senate president in their statements.

According to police spokesperson Jimoh Moshood, one Ayoade Akinnibosun among the suspects and acclaimed leader of the robbery gang said they were political thugs of Saraki and Kwara state governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Moshood said at a press briefing in Sbujs on Sunday: “The Five (5) gang leaders namely; Ayoade Akinnibosun, Ibukunle Ogunleye, Adeola Abraham, Salawudeen Azeez, Niyi Ogundiran and some of the other Seventeen (17) suspects arrested for direct involvement and active participation in the Offa Bank Robbery and the gruesome killing of THIRTY THREE (33) innocent persons which includes (some pregnant women and nine (9) Police personnel) admitted, confessed and volunteered statements that they were political thugs of the Senate President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Bukola Saraki and the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Alh. Abdulfatah Ahmed.
“The Five (5) gang leaders further confessed during investigation that they are political thugs under the name Youth Liberation Movement a.k.a “Good Boys” admitted and confessed to have been sponsored with firearms, money and operational vehicles by the Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki and the Governor of Kwara State, Alh. Abdulfatah Ahmed.”

I see my statement pains u so much. It rightly does because it's the truth. In a sane countries Johesu leaders and their sponsors would spend the rest of their lives in jail as their offence is treasonable. A group that locked up retroviral drugs not having human sympathy for those who need it, just because they want the same salary as Doctors are biological terrorists and are worse than the Offa Bank robbers. Saraki shouldn't have had anything to do with political terrorists, as their ill-luck may be telling on him .

May God defend him if he's not guilty, if he is, then let God be the true and just judge.

I believe God is about to answer our prayer in kwara state. This robbery in Offa is not the first or the second that happened in Kwara. It has happened like two or three time in Omu Aran. This people raided all banks in the town, kill people and carted away millions of Naira and up till today no arrest or a clue to the perpetrator of the crime. There must be a powerful forces behind the robbery and the weapons they use. All good people of Kwara and Nigeria as a whole should pray to God to help us by expose all the evil people among us and support the law enforcement agency to do their work so that all of us we live in peace.

Saraki was not implicated in the robbery, he is being implicated for supplying arms and vehicles to boys who used same to rob. What is the vehicle used to rob doing in Government House?

I have no sympathy whatsoever for saraki..I like d guy as a person and respect him for what he's become as a politician but whatever did APC serves him, he deserves it and more.

Many of us may not have sympathy for Saraki like you but with different perspective. PMB said he could work with anyone when Asiwaju tried to help him organizer the Senate and House of Representatives. What is however mist annoying now is the tendency of APC led government to use Police to witch-hunt opponents and disregard the rules guiding our hard earned democracy.Some people fought democracy and it won't be in our collective interest to overheat the polity. If the Senators decided to be respirator, moved impeachment motion against him and get him remove d just as they are now trying to get ride of Saraki when it's too late, who will benefit? Mutual respect is better for the three arms of government, we should not encourage the executive to continually attack the legislature.

We all know how politicians always supply weapons of death to thugs...such weapons become the properties of such criminals to use for deadlier crimes when elections are over. More than enough proof are on ground linking these thugs to saraki but not to the robbery. Having links with armed robbers will be a serious dent on the intergrity of saraki ,it will be a miracle if he isn't asked to step down as senate president . The nation can't afford to have someone having links with armed robbers as their number 3 citizen

People should understand Kwara has a new CP. He wants to impress and will wonder why these boys are out there in the open commiting crimes and no one dare touch them. Some are on government payroll.

Saraki did not send them to rob banks in Offa but if members of the robbery gang are also members of Saraki gang and put his name out so they may get soft landing or set free? What do you expect the new CP do? 

That is why he quickly transffered the case to Abuja. 

Some of these guys are well known. All Saraki has to do is severe ties with the ones involved in the robbery, and maybe stop paying some salaruy. Yes some are on the governments payroll.

Thank you for this information. Most radical politicians in Nigeria do have many political thugs who may also belong to some cultist gang. I knew Saraki has something with those robber when before knowing their confessional statement is raising alarm.

It's not about saraki conspiring to rob a bank, if you supply someone ammunition illegal, you can be held responsible for whatever they do with such ammunition.

This is not about defending saraki, rather the truthfulness and sincerity of the statement by the suspect. Never under estimate what the police can do, they can cajole a person to confess to crime they never committed.
By the way, majority of Nigerian political class have thugs and boys working for them either directly or by proxy....including Mr Buhari. In 2011 young people killed because he lost elections, suffice to say hence, they were his empowered thugs.

The way some people pass comments on this platform can land them in jail! Police is not saying Saraki sponsored the robbery! They are saying the robbers are his political thugs. If proven, Saraki will have a case to answer. So, let's wait for the police to bring out their evidence and allow him to controvert it.
