Which shop did you buy from? If the store offers shipping services like AliExpress or Amazon , send a mail that you haven't received your items. But if you sent it to the shipping company yourself you have to pay. Please next time use local shipping company. We have a lot of them, I from china and US ,I used local shippers.

Do the calculations. For your next shipment from anywhere in the world, contact AFPEG INTEGRATED VENTURES, Nahco/Shacol office complex, M/M Int'l Airport Ikeja Lagos. Tel:08033770632 Email address: info.afpeg@gmail.com or ayoogun76@yahoo.com

I am expecting a phone and 3 sport wears which invoice bears $1264 (abt 455k), sent through Fedex, I was suprised to receive a mail from Fedex that my import duty from Custom is N81,415.68

Please, is this normal, to me it's outrageous, even if there's gonna be any duty, it should not be beyond 15%.

I need your advises and guidelines, pls.
Thanks.
Be prepared for NDLEA or DSS whala...That's their thing..They'll want to get some more out of you.
Be wise.

Mine was with DHL about 4 years ago. For Human hair worth about $700. I called DHL to let them know I was contesting it, then I went to the DHL office at Airport area. I spoke to the custom officer there and checked their duty book and they were right. I ended up begging the custom office there and paid about half of the charge. Next time I was shipping hair, I asked the seller to drastically reduce the cost on the invoice and I paid nothing.

Go the the Fedex office and speak with the custom officer in charge there. Before you go there, check the duty for mobile phones online and do the calculation and see if you have been overcharged based on the invoice value of your phone. If you're over charged, you have a great case and can argue it out with the custom guys there. If not, begging and sorting can make the duty price reduce.

Best of luck.

It was bought for 310k, 50k for shipping from US to Nigeria and now I'm facing 81k charges

Next time, there is a cheaper way to ship your consignment from USA to Nigeria that wont cost more than USD60 per 15 pounds weight.

SEEMS THIS ONE STARTED NEW... CAUS TWICE I HAVE RECEIVED SOME PACKAGE THROUGH FEDEX.... I NEVER FACE SUCH I ONLY GO THERE SAY MY NAME MY PHONE ND WHAT IS IN THE PACK. I WAS MADE TO SIGN A BOOK THAT I HAVE RECEIVED. ND THE PACKAGE WAS HANDED OVER TO ME WITHOUT ANY ADDITIONAL PAYMENT. SO VERIFY THAT EMAIL AND KNOW IF TRUELY IS FROM FEDEX

It depends on the content of the package and where it is coming from. If its a phone or laptop coming from the USA through FedEx, then this is not a new thing. They have been doing it for long. Its not normally like that For other products and from other countries

Lol, which one is pirated phone again? There is no such thing as pirated iPhone, it's either the real deal or a cloned copy and SLOT WILL NEVER SELL CLONED IPHONE. If ur iPhone runs on iOS and u can log in ur Apple acct then it's not fake.

Slot mostly refurbishes phones and sell. Their phones are not of good quality at all.
Amazon phones I can vouch for, slot is run by a bunch of hungry thieves, desperate for money.

Nope, konga don't sell used and repackaged phones. If they are selling a refurbished phone they will state it on the advert. However some 3rd party resellers might sell repackaged phones through konga. All new phones have a seal, once seal is broken then call konga and return the item. There's no way u will repackage an already opened phone for me that I would not know.

I keep asking why Nigerian are buying product that they cant even use effectively. Most of the phones use by Nigerian are not optimally utilized . you will not be surprise that this Guy will use this phone mainly for chats, Facebooking and camera.Oga next time buy TECHNO,INFINIX etc. This is what a chinko will never do, spending his hard earned cash on expensive items.Femi otedola still using Nokia 3310

you are liucky its not DHL

What? DHL is far more better than Fedex and even UPS. If he shipped via DHL, he wouldn't have been going through this ordeal.

Fedex and Customs are in bed with each other fleecing Nigerians of their money all in the name of shipping costs. You either pay the huge amount or forfeit the item.

My cousin bought a so called new phone that was opened and was clearly used. The camera wasn't even working, she tried severally to contact them, they were telling her stories. Her 120 just went like that.

My friend ordered too and bought a phone from them, he had similar issues.
I don't trust Konga!

I'm only requesting for help or suggestions on what to do as a sane man who would not wanna rely only on his own understanding, I neva said I can't pay, as a businessman who has been doing this before, I already made my calculations that the landing cost would be around 330-340k, but the third party shipper which some are suggesting caused the high shipping rate, I had to accept not knowing it customs issues would still come up, I never wanted to use fedex, I always have dissatisfaction with them,

I'd like to thank all that gave useful suggestions without bashing, those that were negative too, thank you, it's a business, we should expect profit and loss, win some loose some!

N.B it can happen to anyone anytime, we are suppose to help each other not being negative to pull one's heart down.

Next time.

Use mayorall cargo. Shipping and clearing won't cost you upto 5% of what you paid FedEx for shipping and clearing.

Even if he decides to use the phone just for pictures, it's his money and his business.
Learn to allow people do what they wanna do especially with their resources, you come off as pained and frustrated if you're always complaining about how someone else chooses to use His money!
