This is official miui China Dev and official dev rom. 8.0 is available.

China MIUI ROMs are usually higher and well packed than the Global ROMs. But Dev ROMs from my experience are full of bugs.

Usual of Xiaomi, churn out several phones and then have challenges turning out regular updates to all.

with the new project treble support on Android Oreo that won't be an issue again if ever it was an issue. before

Sir GrandMufti,
With all due respect and no urge to upset anyone or shake any table; u speak facts and not hearsay or sidetalks. My MI5 is on Android 7.0 with 2018-05-01 security patch which like I said earlier just had the security patch update few days ago from 2018-03-01.
Am a Global MIUI forum beta team member and I speak facts sir, a tour through the forum of MIUI tells it all. Even Xiaomi CEO mentioned regular updates at the recent MIUI 10 unveiling; that it will be improved on.
I run global beta rom on my MI6 because I once complained in this forum about updates and was advised to go that way if I require updates. Not every average user should go the buggy beta rom way. My Nokia 5 receives promptly update thanks to the pure Android flavour.
I have used 4 MIUI devices and speak from experience, no misleading anyone please.

"Besides the point" is your personal perspective and I won't question that but Dev path is not same as stable path:China or Global. My own point

Let's hope so considering the MIUI skin & customisations running above the above platform.

To be honest with you, beta roms ,sometimes, are full of bugs. Whenever you experience bugs, flash the rom again or factory reset.

That aside, oroe is available for mi 6.

Screenshot the about section of your phone.

Modified**** mi 5 global developer rom is already on oreo. So expect it on stable rom in no distant time smiley

Hmm, Alright I now care about the custom charges..

In case you missed my Point, I was referring to Noobody's express shipping business model..

I later provided alternatives to avoid the charges, Using Jumia or express delivery. When you felt I don't care.. I do price comparison a lot..

Also what's the assurance. Your phone won't be detected during clearance...

In business world anything can happen, Seems someone is concerned about the inflow of phones from overseas.. Imagine someone complaining about Shipping iPhone for 80k sad

Oh, I forgot to add this regarding students that can't afford express delivery..
You remembered I Posted a comment saying, You shouldn't buy a phone you can't afford to loss..

A student should not Struggle to buy a phone he can't afford as well, I remember when I used to save and struggle to buy phones...

As a student the main Goal is to finish school first.. then you will even use the best phones out there at the right time..

Peace
It's not your concern what people should save to buy.

Everyone is old enough to decide what is valuable to him.
A phone is a work tool for many.

Exactly, I absolutely don't see anything wrong if a anyone decides to save money to get a good phone. Don't we all save or still saving for one thing at a point in our lives?

It's like saying because I can't buy a house right now, I shouldn't bother to keep money aside for it. Smh.

Thanks, I run Oreo 8.0 beta nightly on MI6 while MI5 is stable global 7.0.
I admire Xiaomi for bringing great hardware at affordable price having used Samsung S2 to S5 phones but sometimes our Oliver Twist will always ask for more; Glo LTE support, good camera, etc.

Ok good. If you have the patience, unlock bootloader and flash global stable rom for mi 6 if you are not comfortable with the bugs or you can download the rom manually and flash. Check @jboixxx profile for steps.

While for mi 5, wait for the global rom on oreo. It may come before miui 10
