I'm so enjoying this banks n their wahala... One time they had network issues n I withdrew excess of 50k, by the time they rectified the issue my account reads minus 50k...

Her account must have been thrown into debit (by the system) prior to that credit, then the subsequent debit by UBA.

The point is that they wouldn't have paid the interest if it wasn't for deduction purpose. They would be behaving as if you didn't have interest accruing to your account. Years will pass no pay. They just remembered her own because they now have the opportunity of taking N40 which is bigger than her interest sef.

The way Nigerians think surprises me. Which bank would waste their time funding an inactive account with N10, because they want to deduct charges for card maintenance. Nigerians think the banking business is akara and moi-moi buka.

can you please elaborate on what you mean by thrown into debit coz I can't see any debit sign here and besides how can due interest on #40 be #10....

Nothing wrong with the account.That credit should be the interest earned for the month added and since her account is deficit, they have to wait to end of the month to have her interest credited, then debited same account to take care of her debit balance,

It's a CBN directive. Whether you use the card or not, provided it did not expire, they will debit your account monthly. But at SunTrust Bank, we don't charge you for anything, even inter bank ATM card withdrawals are free of charge + free ATM card. wink

Just like one smart girl up there explained.... Her N40 might have accrued her that interest over time and when the interest was up to the deficit amount required for the card maintenance, the system automatically debitted her acvount.
Moat banks are grossly understaffed, nobody has time to be checking accounts with N40 balance. These things are automated.

Due interest is the most plausible explanation to the N10.57 credit.
For card maintenance fee, the system may not overdraw the account (I guess that's why there is no debit sign)...it will just chill for the complete amount and debit once it sights it.

No one has time to be monitoring millions of account. These things are automated. My opinion grin

That said, she should show us her balance wink
