HerMoney:
Thanks a million Frank. You are prolly right. I had read about their issues with career progression but didnt want to let fear of that stop me from going for what I have always wanted to do. Plus I took enough time to explain all that in my SOP. I did submit employment docs, Work ID and payslips from my employers. I have ordered the notes and waiting to see like you said. School resumes Sep 4. And I have heard it takes 30 days to get the notes. My main concern now is what would be the point of reapplying if I can't prove I am a bona fide student due to my academic history and intended course of study? I don't want to do anything legal so I really don't know how to tackle that in such a short space of time. What are your thoughts?
HerMoney,

Applying for a study visa to Canada with a proposed program that is not related to your current employment or previous studies is usually difficult but not impossible because there are no traces of academic/career progression. To support your claims, go for a program you have relavant experience in.

Or Better still, table a rational letter of explanation detailing your reasons for a change in career path and how you intend to excel in your new academic pursuit, how it might be of paramount benefit to you and your home country.

Lastly, don't be in a haste to reapply if you haven't secured your gcms notes and address the concerns of the visa officer regarding your previous refused application.

HiSignature:
I understand you both but I have seen a brother -in-law (husband to another sister) stand in as sponsor with the applicants brother and it worked. In the person's case, the brother in law had the bulk of the money in investment.
If such a person has been partly involved in his life before and can be proved....he can try it.
Some people have gotten approved with cases not that convincing.
Truth of the matter still remains that there is no blue print for this process.
God's favour above all.

You've a point here HiSignature, yes there are no blue print when it comes to visa process. But there are certain factors one needs to put into consideration before applying for Canada study visa. I dish out my advices based on experience and what I have seen on several GCMS notes, using a brother-in-law as the main sponsor to an applicant is not always feasible. If an applicant must make use of such sponsor a strong proof of relationship must suffice like proof of history or ongoing financial support from the brother-in-law coupled with a very convincing letter of sponsorship and strong financial backing (commitment).

May I ask which country did you apply from?

Mrsecman:
Hello Seniors,

I just checked my CIC account again today, and saw that "They're reviewing the results of my medical exam"

Please note, I didn't do any upfront medical. I only uploaded medical request form.

Basically, eligibility, medical and background check now under review.

Is this normal?

Find attached picture to understand me better.

Thanks in anticipation.

Am still sorta confused dear, so as for me married traditionally, church and legally do i need to still fill the form and notarise it? And again please what documents is my hubby to submit? And again please does he need to write a LOE too if yes suggest how he should write it please dear.
Frankrobbn1:

Hello Madam,

Glad to hear you find the previous piece useful.
In my understanding you need to fill up the statutory declaration of common law union only if your common law partner is your co signer. Meaning, you've to fill the form while your hubby is the co-signer.

Yes! It was clearly stated on the form, that you will either need a notary public, commissioner of oaths or commissioner of taking affidavit. In this case, you will need one to administer the declaration.

To mention a few, OTHER DOCUMENTS CAN BE:
Your Acceptance letter
Spouse's passport bio data page
Spouse's passport visa stamped pages
Your passport bio data page
Marriage certificate
Your birth certificate
Your educational certificate
You and your spouse bank statements
Property evaluation (if any)
Wedding photos
Your employment verification letter if you working.
Your pay stubs
Promotion letters(if any)
Your travel history (Stamped visa pages).

Below are some of the clues found on a traditional Canada study permit SOP: Each paragraph must have a central idea and a different point.

Paragraph 1-) Academic and career profile should be discussed briefly.
Paragraph 2-) Why you choose the program of choice.
Paragraph 3-) The school of choice.
Paragraph 4-) Why you choose Canada and not Nigeria considering the high cost and difficulty of undertaking a foreign education.
Paragraph 5-) Financial provisions.
Paragraph 6-) Family ties in country of residence, what can compel your return home after studies.
Paragraph 7-) Career goals: What you intend to achieve at the end of the program in Canada, how it will enhance your career prospects back home and how it will be of paramount benefit to you in the future and to your home country.

Accompanying dependant doesn't need to tender an SOP as he is not the principal applicant.

Lastly, kindly extend your queries to the SOWP thread using the link below, as that's the ideal place to get answers to your questions not here. Presently, this forum is strictly for matters relating to Canada study visa.

SPOUSAL OPEN WORK PERMIT THREAD

All the best!

Frankrobbn1:

alftdbts,

First bank master card will work perfectly, the total cost is between the sum of 66270-68000. Yes uploading documents comes first before completing payment. Upfront medicals is not compulsory, most applicants go for this due to the time factor, because it speeds up visa application processing.

All the best!

Thanks a lot for the info. I guess I might wait a week or two after submission to complete my upfront medicals if that could come anytime irrespective of submission date.

Good morning team,

I haven’t posted in a while. I submitted with upfront Medicals, but yesterday I wasted to do Medicals again.

Please why could this be happening? The hospital claims the fault is not from them and i’d have to pay again.

Thanks for helping.

I have not.

The funny thing about my application is that it kind of mandated the upfront Medicals.

I’m thinking of just redoing it with the form they sent. Just to avoid mixups.

Just go to the medical centre you previously did your medical with the receipt of payments and medical form. I believe they will resend your medical results again. You have to pay again but not up to what you paid initially, Children practice at Ikoyi will collect half of what you paid previously. All the best

Did this happen to you or someone you know?

Also, how long did it take before they got their TRV?

I will advise you to do that even if it means paying in full again. It will be worth every Kobo as your application seems to be heading towards positivity.

No drama, just carry on with the new form. It may even be an additional test required now (like Ebola grin )or further testing ( just guessing ) so just follow their instructions to the latter.

Obey before Complain!

If the hospital said they've sent the report then i'll advice you email them your upfront e medicals slip again, it may be a technical glitch or they didnt see it. Wasting that money again for medicals doesn't seem right to me. I called IOM and asked them that question and they said you should just resend the slip given to you. Just to avoid any problem.
What if they find it later on and you have two medicas, They may read different things because of the different times it was taken. Then again if the other one is found you may look desperate.
I stand to be corrected.
