I swear the tin sweet me. It means Iceland are not that tight at the back as everyone is saying. I just pray we convert our begging chances cos i know we will create alot of it.
I think our Group is very even

Anyone can go through and anyone can be eliminated. Even the great Argentina will be as ordinary as every other team in that group.

I predict a shock winner and at least one of Argentina or Croatia won't make it out of the group.

- Iceland give up 2 within 15 minutes, lost all prior friendlies

- Croatia lose to Peru and Brazil

- Argentina lose to us, 6-1 to Spain

- We win two friendlies, lose three, and draw one

....This group is somewhat interesting grin cool

Argentina will beat Iceland. Iceland cant handle that Argentina's fearful frontline. No be ghana score 2 for second half so?. Lets beat Croatia first sha so that our fate will be in our hands. We can even top that group.

Alongside the strong links with our own Super Eagle, Simon Moses, Liverpool seem close to bringing in Xherdan Shaqiri and Nabil Fekir... Definitely Fekir is to play as Coutinho's bonafide replacement in that CAM role alongside Naby Keita and Fabinho in Liverpool's midfield...

Shaqiri is to provide cover for maybe a Salah while Simon Moses is to provide cover for Sadio Mane....

Liverpool are building strongly for next season and they will officially join my list of "Clubs I fan" if they land Simon Moses grin (Note: I still love the big guns of Europe shaa for their football, pedigree and excellent benchmarks but a more special place is reserved for every club having a Super Eagle... Yes... Even Changchun Yatai grin )
Saido Mane is leaving. It's madness to sign so many wide players.

I read rumors of Mane leaving too and guess what I saw... real Madrid?! Like seriously... if Madrid will land a Liverpool player, it would be Salah... but Mane... well, time will tell. So apart from Madrid... what other club is in the picture for Mane? I don't see Mane taking a step down... his next move if ever, must be a bigger club than Liverpool...

Nice analysis elder Kog45.

But, Chriskels never said he didn't know what came over him, he still stand his ground that Rohr is clueless and that its a self delusion to think that he was hiding his plans by playing badly with his numerous excuses like cutysaxel also noticed.

That said, I only admitted I was joking with the sack saga. Yes I still repeat it that it was a joke I cracked by calling for his sacking before the Croatia match.

OGN reports rumors of a close-doors/secret test game against Austria or a selected Austrian side (billed for maybe June 9 or so). Maybe Rohr wanna see his wards one more time working on those corrections he stresses upon in trainings implemented? Don't know how true this is. OGN have been really wack lately so it is hard to believe them anymore.

P.S: Meanwhile I know you fell "sick" and went into lamentations mode. Good to see you have recovered. Don't worry man, take your time okay..... o obele obele inugo? grin

They are equally discipline at the back as well.. Though their midfield is not really impressive but they play well as a unit.
They may get to quarter final

Exclusive – Austria Among Potential Opponents Of Super Eagles For Close Door Pre World Cup Friendly
June 7, 2018014

Talks are underway for the Super Eagles of Nigeria to take on the senior national team of Austria in a friendly game which will be played behind close doors, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

In the Super Eagles preparations plans they plan playing a game on the 9th of June and that plan is well and truly on after preliminary talks were held with Austria, who are also having a training camp not far from that of Nigeria.

Austria will engage Brazil in a friendly game and Nigeria could be their next opponents if all goes according to plan, but if it fails to materialise there are plans to engaged a selected side for the Eagles.

Already Nigeria have played three friendly games in preparations for the World Cup and with a draw and two defeats, the need for a third to test lessons learnt from the defeats has become imperative.

Coach Gernot Rohr was believed to be initially opposed to the idea of playing a game very close to the World Cup but recent poor results in friendly games have forced him into a rethink of his earliest ideas.

Lol people actually think we will beat Iceland because ghana came back to draw them? If we dont change our game style to a suitable one, trust me, we would be out with zero points.

When was the last time we even came from behind to draw or win a match?

Before u shout Argentina, remember the formation was different from what Rohr is dishing out now, hence if Rohr continues like this, dont expect that miracle we saw in Krasnodar.

By the way, the Oyibo wall has badly cracked that it exposes our goalkeeper like mad.

If true, the scoreline should also be kept secret, because all we want is surprises like in France 98

Remember Rohr used these friendlies to test out different playing styles and to test and stretch the dynamism of our team plays in different tactical set-ups. This is obviously why we tend to struggle for a bit and pick up much later, dominate for most parts yet with no goal and even start as slowbies in first half before hitting great gear in the second half.

Rohr was not out to lose these friendlies. He wanted to win but it was secondary. His primary aim was to ensure he tests out different playing styles as he said he would in an interview even before the march friendlies.

I recall most of us here wanted Rohr to test out different formations to give us options... this is exactly what Rohr did. Should he now be crucified for doing what most agreed with in the first place? It is funny to me oooo... lol

The thing is... He didn't set out to lose any friendly deliberately. We were just unlucky for the most parts and we indeed ended up trying out different formations...

We saw 4-4-1-1, we also saw 3-5-2... we saw 4-5-1... we saw 4-3-3... and our usual 4-2-3-1 (which can easily be 4-3-3 in disguise)...
In tinkering this way, there are bound to be imperfections here and there and also shows of brilliance and positive possibilities here and there... I trust Rohr is gathering the good pieces and putting them together for the main event in Russia. Give it time. June 16 is already upon us but we have a few days to finish the puzzle of our tactical options. The team will rise. We have the good, the great, the bad and the ugly in these various tactical tweaks. Rohr will pick the best and the good and "piece together" our most effective I trust.

We will be hard to puzzle out in Russia if we can show good dynamism based on the experiences and lessons of these friendlies.

Honestly on Simy... I see him making an impact off the bench only when he is needed depending on the tactical atmosphere. Ighalo will start ahead of him in the no 9 role depending on the set-up... unless.....

Yeah... I read that rumor too. But then I have my personal doubts that deal will happen. Barca was being linked with Griezmann although in recent days, the links have cooled.
The summer is still young but Salah to barca? I don't think it may happen... unless... wink

Salah or Mane to leave? What if Klopp keeps both? Or if any is to leave, which is more likely? And what if Madrid comes for and gets Klopp? Rumors about that are on too... lol
