@op, u created a good thread, explained properly but ended it badly with do not use ... As I am sure u wldnt come back to this forum n apologize saying u av gotten full refund when u do.

That said, pls write to GTB giving them details of the said transaction - time, date , masked PAN and ask them to request for footage from Stanbic for the successful transaction.

Pls reply with ur mail so I can help look into this.

Best regards.

I also watched it ... it’s like an Arab video they will cover the ATM off load with a plastic similar to the ATM COVER AND LATER COME for cash
yeah there's that one too... But this one, you know the dispenser slot edge has almost no space and slides up when opening to give you the cash. They force sth like a tiny piece of broom stick in the very tiny space between the slot and the body of the machine to hold it in place. After you have tried to withdraw, and have left, they'll remove the obstruction, use a screwdriver to force the slot open and take the cash.

I also experienced the same with stannbic bank ATM here in Asaba along Nnebisi road
on the 5th too
On that day,the money was being dispensed but did not come out for me to receive it as the clamp could not open fully enough.Just then I received a debit alert for the transaction .I immediately called the attention of the security personnel close by to what has happened and was advised to wait for a little to see if the mon
ey would come out.It did not and I went to complain
inside the bank.I was advised to go to my bank to lay a complain. I have to wait for two weeks for it to be reversed. Was not too happy to hear that If it were to be my last cash and I had an emergency to attend to then what would have happened.

Thanks. The ATM machine used was Stanbic IBTC @ Computer Village, Ikeja

I suspect both the security man and the guy that came in front of me suddenly. Funny enough, after I left the ATM at the side and being delayed for like 10 minutes, the guy was gummed to the other ATM. Perhaps to divert people to use the fraudulent one. My question is like, how is it even possible an ATM approves a transaction but you dont get paid?

Lalasticlala Please
Follow up on the matter, go to stanbic bank where it happened and lay your complain, they will track it, it's because of issues like this that I don't use another bank atm except my bank, they will keep posting you until its resolved.

On the 5th of June, 2018. I went to fix my phone in computer village. To pay for the phone parts, I went to the nearest ATM, at Stanbic IBTC Bank in Computer Village.

There were two ATMs, one outside facing the gate and the other by the side of the bank. While queuing on the one facing outside, a guy came to my front. I was about to tell him to join the queue but he told me that he wants N1000 notes and the ATM by the side is paying in N500 notes, that I should try there and it was free. The security man there also told me to try there.

As I was in a haste, I went to the ATM machine by the side, I tried to withdraw N10,000. The machine started taking like 5 minutes to dispense. After a while, it told me "My transaction has been completed". My card was discharged. As I was complaining, the security man told me not to worry, it would be reversed.

I had to borrow money from a friend to pay for the services. Once I got home I made a complaint via GTBank Internet Banking. The next day, I went to a GTBank nearby to make a compliant too. As at this evening, I got a response on my mail

I am now questioning, what the hell happened. The ploy for me to use that ATM seemed 90% like a setup. The ATM machine told me "Transaction completed" but did not pay my money. The security man immediately gave me hope in reversal. Now while trying to get a refund, I am being told that I was actually paid.

I am going to go on pushing GTBank so I can retrieve my money. But in the meanwhile, can someone with a similar experience or some knowledge tell me what is going on. Right here, I am feeling bloody scammed.

IN THE MEANWHILE, DO NOT USE THE STANBI IBTC ATM IN COMPUTER VILLAGE.
dispense error is a normal thing with ATM. just go to ur bank and complain again.
they know what to do.

i had a similar experience while withdrawing using my diamond bank atm through zenith bank some where in anambra, on november last year.
i reported the issue severally and i recived a msg in quotes ''transaction was declined by other bank''. a bank official who i reported to was like ' sometimes it happens''. and i was like maybe cos u r not d victim here. at point, i wanted to ask him if the person in charge of loading currency into the atm doesnt know how much he loaded on a particular day at a particular time epoch.
i made a move for them to request for cctv footage from the other bank to prove if the machine really dispensed or not, the bank official told me that the cctv footage won't show that angle where the machine dispenses cash. i still insisted and i was told to write a letter which i did. . up till now, nothing..
its been over 6 months, am already tired of the continual frustration to get back my cash over the mistake made by a machine.
its about time i reopened that case, since i can see that some banks are defrauding customers.
