Your 500# fell from your pocket, and the person that picked it happens to owe you 100#, so the person gives you the 100# from the 500# and you gave him 400# change.

How much did you lose in total??

Simple.

600 naira is the total loss.

Incorrect

I thought it was a question that demanded logic.

Here was how I arrived at 600:

If our man didn't lose the 500 naira, he would have had a total of 600 naira. The debtor pays him 100 naira out of his own money (500 naira), so one cannot say that the debt was actually paid. So, he has lost 500 naira and 100 naira in a rather logical sense.

Since it is a pretty straightforward calculation, the answer is 500 naira definitely.

He is owing u #100 (loss) n your 500# fell, then he gave u #100 out of it, n u gave him the remaining #400(loss) Change... By mere calculation, you lost #500 in total ..

hmmm lost #1000
going by leakages you lost #500 + you are being owed #100 + you gave out #400 as change = total of #1000 lost regardless of the #100 that was given back to you
Going by injections you had #500 + your #100 paid back + your lost #500 that was given to you less the actual #100 naira being owed = #1000

You lost 900
Very simple let me explain
500 fell from your pocket = loss
Person picked it and owing 100 = 100 loss
You now gave the dude 400 =loss
Never mentioned the debtor gave me the fallen 500. Instead I gave the dude 400.
Total loss = 100+500+400 =1000

Ps: adding the 100 received will make total loss 900

Owing you N100...................-100
Dropped N500.....................-500
Fvker gave you N500............+500
You gave fvker N400.............-400

-100-500+500-400 = -500

He lost N500 total

Another logic; He started with N600 (loan + dropped amount), and he left with N100. Loss = N500

if the person that picked it up gave him the money back.. Then he lost 500.

400 change he gave to the person plus the initial 100 the guy owed him (though he paid him in disguise from his own money)
Re: Test Your IQ With This!! (photo) by Nobody: 6:56pm On Jun 08, 2018
i lost 1000 naira, he gained 400 ,basically he gave me back my debt with my money w and made a profit,he basically didnt pay his 100 debt.

i lost my 500 naira ,my 100 naira and my 400 naira

the biggest 419 ever.

This is the bank way.

You only lost N500

N100 was simply a repayment of debt owed u before.

Imagine that the person who picked the N500 is different from the one who owed u N100.

So u lost N500 (which u never got back)

He lost #400..+ a payback of #100

Assume Mr. A was was walking to school with a single #500 note and 2 pieces of #200(=#400).. making a total of #900 in his pocket...

The single #500 fell out, which Mr.B picked up..
Mr.A is now left with 2 pieces of #200 note (=#400)..
Mr. B gives Mr. A back the single #500 note.
Mr. A gives Mr. B the 2 pieces of #200 note(=#400)

Mr. A then keeps walking to schl with same initial single #500 note only.
Therefore, Mr.A has lost the 2 pieces of #200 note(=#400) which he had alongside the single #500 note on his way to schl initially.. While also assuming a "false" payback of #100 cash which was neva paid..

600.
Re: Test Your IQ With This!! (photo) by majorbravo: 8:38pm On Jun 08, 2018
You lost 500

-500 (that you dropped) +100 (you got back) - 100 (that he originally owes that you will now never get back). = -500

You went to place a bet, you pay 100 naira to use the machine and you put 500 in the machine but only got 100 back, how much have you lost? 500.

Another way to see it,

Your piggy bank had 1 gold coin in it last night. In the morning, you place 5 more gold coins in the piggy bank before leaving your house. A robber breaks in and steals the piggy bank, the next day the police returns with 1 coin that it's all they could recover from the burgler. How much have you lost? 5 coins.

Elthugnificent:

What if he was not the one that picked the money?

Artzdanielsz:

Oga what if the money was picked by another person.

It doesn't matter who stole the money.

Think of it this way,
3 guys
Mr Creditor has 500naira in his pocket,
Mr Debtor owes Mr Creditor 100naira,
Mr Thief is just some random guy looking for money to steal and knows neither the creditor nor the debtor.

If Mr Thief stole N500 from Mr Creditor, Mr Thief won't come back to give Mr Creditor the N500 and ask for change, they have no business together what is he paying for? If Mr debtor then walks up to Mr Creditor and hands him N100, the creditor has received his 100 naira back in his pocket now. So the only thing he lost is the 500 Mr thief took.

If it was never paid and he assumes it has been paid, then he still has a loss of 100, add that to the initial 400 = 500
