Abeg, no give Oga heart attack o... £14,000..... Just look for a better Toyota Aygo (automatic), build your insurance history, get lowest insurance premiums, gather no claims bonus, year 2 (start to protect your no claims bonus)....

When you have built up enough road experience + insurance history + road network familiarisation. Buy a decent car or better still, upgrade your aygo.......

After you, na you! Thanks boss, I appreciate this- it really looks like a good plan. Thanks.

Toyota Aygo's have less than 1 litre engine, very cheap to run and maintain, insurance very cheap (fully comp) + cheap on fuel.......

Gumtree, auto trader, pistonheads, preloved etc etc, are sure bets......

Do you due diligence and don't buy a cat c or cat d vehicles (repaired or not).... You might run into difficulties with your insurance company or when you want to sell it on....

Lol ok but I haven't heard good things about gumtree so be careful. If you guys have Arnold Clark dealerships where you are check them out, they are very experienced used car sellers. Jisike.

CAT C & CAT D - Once fixed and completing a Vic check, can be returned to the roads

CAT A - Vehicle must be completely destroyed

Wait you found a car for 4K? Wow! No wonder Oga shouted when I told him I wanted a 14k car. I was thinking 14k was cheap o grin, ah they will just sell me in this country

There’s nothing wrong in buying a brand new car as your first car as long as you can afford it. Do not let Lexusgs430 and co rain on your parade. grin

My MRS went straight to the dealership to pick up a brand new car barely days after she received her driving license in the post. The car was worth around £22,000 at the time. It was a finance deal and after 3years, she returned the car back to them and went to another dealership to pick another brand new car.

The insurance wasn’t bad as a first time driver. It was around £1200 or so if I remember correctly. She didn’t pick a provider from a comparison site. She asked the dealership to recommend an insurance company and she went along with the quote she was given.

Brand new cars come with its “perks”, so I won’t fault anyone that decides to get one. You have to be very very careful with used cars as it is easy to get your fingers burnt.

Imagine paying £4,000 for a car only to change all four tyres, brake pads and shocks within a year. And then shortly after you get told by the mechanic that the car’s engine is almost gone and you should prepare to SCRAP the car. This happened to a guy I know.

Very wiggly indeed...... The only person that cares about you is YOU.....

You need to have your wits on, or else they take advantage of you.....

It's also very very important when checking vehicles MOT history, to check mileages as vehicle progresses through the years (to avoid buying a puppy, but you actually bought a dangerous lion)

Although the car check should pick it up, but one cannot be too careful and diligent....

I have not said buying a brand new car is bad, but fully understanding the financial markets is also very important. The pros and cons of buying a vehicle on finance..

If for whatever reason the lender cannot afford the finance, the debt does not dissappear into the cloud..... It comes with severe financial consequences... Best to err on the side of caution.....

If you buy correctly and wisely, you avoid the pitfalls. That's why the onus is on the buyer to buy safely....

True and that’s why I included a caveat in my first sentence .....”if she can afford it”.

If she can afford it, then she’s best buying a brand new car. The brand new car market is fiercely competitive. Manufacturers are ‘desperately’ looking at shifting stock all the time. I won’t be surprised if she gets a brand new car for £100-£150 a month (if not less).

You are forgetting the little matter of the deposit, mileage restrictions and option to buy fee.......

Yes they are always looking to shift stock, but at whose expense?

Is there any other way to search for insurance? The trick is to change providers every year cos they will double your premium even if you don't make a claim.

If you park in a drive it’s cheaper than parking on the street also if you use it for social only instead of work commuting you get a few pounds knocked off. I find the site confused.com has got cheaper rates when it comes to car insurance.

I think it’s better to buy a used car because no matter the make of the car, once you have driven it out of that forecourt almost half of the value has been knocked off. Even if it’s six months old to me you still make a saving. Insurance. Is also very high on new cars. The financial commitment is a lot for someone just coming in to settle down in the uk. Better to take on a mortgage than a car finance in my opinion but maybe it’s the accountant in me that’s speaking.

My brothers and sisters i thank u all for your wonderful contributions concerning my topic. I am the lady that has triplets with my expired visa, I have decided to stay to enable me take care of my triplets. The lawyer is still working on my case but I av to excercise patience to enable me have my papers. I have to confess, it has not bin easy taking care of triplets. I av been up and doing. So buzy! Ps house what is a good salary in the UK for someone that does not av qualification? Someone told me that £3,000 is good to make every month for d family. But will £3,000 be Okey for me and my husband, with our three kids for every month? My hubby just got two rooms apartment and we are paying £900 but we pay for water, and other bills. He works as healthcare staff in a nursing home and earn £2,000 and he also do other jobs during his off days, atleast a month he makes £2,300. Ps will the £2,300 be enof if we manage it well?
May I know the highest pay one can get paid in the UK without certificate.

A friend adviced me that when my kids are 2years and when I get my papers, I should work as mental health assistance, she said they pay them well, beacuse she is working as a mental health assistance contractor, she only works at her convient time, mostly nite shift and at the end of the month, she goes home with £2,500. How truth is this ps? Working at y convient time and making that amount? I will like to know if mental health assistance is a good job without certificate just training. I heard that no certificate is required for the job. Is this really a good job bc I am scared of mad people.
I am looking for something to do to assist my hubby. Ps house I need your advice on these ps. Or is there any other jobs one can get well paid without certificate?

I am aving hope to further my studies, I will like to be a nurse. Can someone put me through on how to become a nurse, which cheap university or college can I go. I learnt I can do just diploma nursing. How much can I av to do it, I need to start saving, ps I need y advice house. Ps help mama triplets like me. Getting a job at the moment is out of the question, simply because all employers would want to verify your work status. Well, not unless you get a job on the black market. And be expected to be massively underpaid. And also expect to pay a childminder mega, for looking after triplets....

Regarding getting a job as a HCA in the mental health setting, you cannot work for the NHS if your status is not regularised.

And yes you can get a job as a HCA, subject to doing some work related trainings.

If you are lucky to get a job within the NHS, your trust might second you for your nursing training, but you would have to do an access to nursing training at a college.

The NHS/Govt is thinking of bringing in an apprenticeship to nursing scheme, they are still working on the finer details....

Insurance is an individualistic issue that looks holistically at individuals variables (and they are loads to consider to get a cheap policy).

What about if the proposer does not have an access to lock up garages, close to their residential address?

If you park in a drive it’s cheaper than parking on the street also if you use it for social only instead of work commuting you get a few pounds knocked off. I find the site confused.com has got cheaper rates when it comes to car insurance.

The area you live matters. Even if you have a lock up garage in Hackney central you will still pay muchore than someone living in a remote area in Scotland parking on the street.
