You served there but I'm from there, that's my home state. I was there in April for the whole month. As I read your post I'm wondering if it is the same Cross River I went to that you are describing bro.You are nothing but a bitter hater. There's massive on going road construction going on. From Enugu to Ogoja now is just 2 hrs. Good road network, easy life, friendly people, the only thing I noticed was poor light supply which an inverter and gen can solve, we were night crawling freely, by God's grace I will surely retire to my hood. You are a hater, a big one

He is not a hater bro. Most of the things he said are very true or worse. Am a full Crossriverian from the same senatorial zone as the Governor. Calabar is a shadow of itself with bad roads everywhere. The Government has not completed one single project. The Garment factory is a ruse. Maybe u are one of the over 3000 appointees so it's OK to defend ur garri. But truth be told, Calabar is at its lowest ebb since the white men left. It's just media and propaganda. Water Board that use d to be top notch before is now am embarrassment. Any "conscience laden" Cross River Resident would even tell u worse.

Please Crossriverian should use their PVCS to send the failure back home if truly he has messed things up in that place.
Based on the pictures of Calabar I have been seeing here it gave me a glimpse of hope about Nigeria but it's disappointing reading comments about how things are getting bad in that place.
What's wrong with Nigeria? In Owerri, it is news of substandard projects everywhere, in Calabar a media run government, Lagos is getting dirty, Akwa Ibom mediocre projects, other states little or nothing is happening and federally, it is a farcical and propagandistic show.
Abi na like this e go dey be? Which way Naija!
When will there be a paradigm shift!
I weep again for this shithole.

I just returned from Calabar few days ago. The town is truly overhyped, no economic activities going on in the entire state. It's tourism potential has been destroyed because it's been infested with low life cult/gang killings. There is also an epidemic of child destitution aptly know as skolombo children, an equivalent of almajiri, they litter the city and cause mayhem, I'm wondering why no they are not in the spotlight just as their almajiri counterparts in the north. The state lost its glory when it lost oil fields/ revenue to Akwa Ibon state during the Yaradua regime. It's a relic of its old self.

I disagree with you on this, while traveling from Itu(Akwa Ibom state) you would not see any destructions on the Akwa Ibom divide until you enter Odukpani (Cross Rivers state) you would see burnt houses line up the road, the police and Road Safety stations were burnt by Akwa Ibom people who crossed the bridge to burn houses and kill people. Except you mean to tell me Odupkani people burnt their own houses themselves and left the place. Lies everywhere.

its tourism potential has been destroyed because d people that took over from Donald duke beginning from imoke lacked d vision of how run a state let alone sustain d tempo of Donald dukes achievements. Ayade is clueless, wit d bad state of affairs in education sector, instead of using d funds to grant scholarships for students, or refurbishing the existing Tertiary institutions herein, or pay state lecturers frequently and what der r due, his planning of changing Tinapa to a first-class university, which would be expensive for common man to pay.

I totally agree with you that Donald Duke's leadership was best in class and his successors could not keep up the tempo and in fact lack any leadership acumen, even though Donald Duke had the luxury of oil revenue accrued to the state in his time. However, cult killing can not be attributed to failures of a governor, when leadership fails it's good we say it, when followers fail too, we diagnose it as it is and not shift blames on the leaders. The people their are lazy ( mentally and economically) hence, the manifestations of laziness.

it is d same oil revenue that Donald duke had that his successors had. Cross river has one of if not d lowest oil revenue among d Niger delta States hence Donald duke had 2 diversify. Y didn't we have cult killings during d duke era? Y were d people of cross river not lazy between 1999-2007? Y is it now that they are lazy? Y was cross river so neat and inviting then? Now y is it so dirty? Everything rises and falls on leadership

The people of Cross River are economically docile/lazy, you can hardly see 'Cross Riverian' outside his/her state, they hardly venture into anything or out of their comfort zone, most people referred to as Calabar are usually from neighboring Akwa Ibom. Oil revenue help sustain the state back then, all the wells were lost Akwa Ibom state after a Supreme Court ruling. How did I know this? Because I work on the same fields ceded to Akwa Ibom state. And that also explains the sudden economic and infrastructural growth enjoyed by Akwa Ibom.

Why is it that folks despise being corrected? Ayade is a criminal and Calabar and the entire state is nothing to tweet home about. I'm disappointed in him as I was born there and my maternal family reside there.

Let's we forget, Calabar is not a safe place. 6pm and I'm being told to come home. This is not about being a hater. Cross River is not what it's as at when Donald Duke was the governor. Imoke, like I always say was dull, but Ayade is a cretinous big-headed fvcktard!

The only road linking Calabar with the rest LGA is as narrow as a footpath not to mention that it's a death trap. Shameful!
