My fellow Honda owners I greet you!
My car - (Honda accord 2005 4 cylinder) doesn't accelerate fast from stop & sometimes loses power on climbing hill especially when the a/c is on. I noticed some improvements after cleaning the fuel pump & I regularly wash my engine. I don't have errors lights on my dashboard, except airbag light. Which is why I'm wondering what could be causing this. Cc: Gazzuzz, luvinhubby, nurey, adanny01. Please help me.

Have u tried climbing the hill without the air conditioning system on and having the same effect?

Lol, my people, i made an observation i want to share, feel free to drop your opinions if you have any. Have you guys noticed that majority of us that had one problem or the other to seek help for here for our hondas, mention, as a maximum, 2007 model cars and lower? Lol, is it that dem evil spirit accords and the likes do not develop so many problems? I currently drive a 2005 accord EOD, and i think i am sure what accord i will get next.

Lool. Don't underestimate that name "Evil spirit".
2008 Accord will give you problem....you won't be able to buy clothe again.
It will so deal with you eh.................you will be getting constant high bp.
It will give you problem.....................you will forget your own birthday.
You will register your mechanic number under family and friends.
Your mechanic will be the ones to be calling you to check up on you.

I own the v6 model tho. The 4 cylinder versions are less problematic and cheaper to maintain.
My advice is to go for the 2009-2011 models(4 cylinder).

. . . means your engine is taking too long to warm up i.e it does not reach expected temperature after running for a specified time.

this may be as a result of bad thermostat or your fan might have been bypassed directly.
boss..were u able to solve your code? cos i just scanned mine and got the same code..please reply//...thanks

Please experienced men in the house kindly advise me

The kickstarter on my '04 accord was replaced today and now the vehicle cranks but will not start. The mechanic and rewire say it has entered 'code'.

Please what does this mean and what should I do next?

Please help me with my Honda Halla braking system o. The brake pedal feels flat/soft once in a while especially when I'm going down a hill or slope or while reversing. I will have to match the brake 3 to 4 times before my car comes to a halt. I've been experiencing this for some months now and my Kazeem hasn't been able to rectify it. There was a day i couldnt stop the car descending a slope. It took several attempts of brake matching before the car stopped. Thank God the road was free(no vehicles or humans ahead). Please what can I do to remedy it ?

Tell ur mechanic to adjust d slow running, I guess its running to high, check ur dashboard to view d meter if its above 1 while running on neutral.

your alternator may have no major issue. it could be that the diode is burnt or having poor contact. I suggest you get to a professional rewire and have him check the alternator diode. you can change it for 5k tokunbo

ok. When last did you change your breaker pads? Again look carefully at the drums and disc behind the tyres, do you spot any leakage or stain off hydraulic oil?
Also check your brake line, there could be a leakage somewhere along that line running right from the brake pedal to the hydraulic pot and down to the tyres.

If after all said is ok without issues.
Then it could be you'll need to adjust the break pads at the back tyres if it's a drum type.
Pull out the tyres, take out the drum covering, look for a kind of Nut holding the break pads ,turn it anticlockwise, towards the ground, fit the drum back in to place.the drum should be a little stiff now. Put your tyre back on. And do same to the other tyre.

Note , don't make it too stiff, as this could effect your gas mileage.

There's another issue again. I took the car to the an AC technician last week as I've stopped using AC 7 years ago when all of a sudden one hose burst and all the gas escaped. I had to change the compressor as the man told me it's bad and he flushed the entire system including the condenser. I noticed the refrigerant he bought for me has expired as I saw 07/2017 at the base of the can but he said it doesn't matter. Now, he's completed everything but the AC doesn't get cold in the afternoon(only blows warm air). It's a bit cold in the morning and evening.

My questions :
1. Please is it because of the expired gas he filled for me or the new compressor he got for me isn't okay ?

2. The car used to idle under 1000rpm before installing AC. He increased the idle to 1000rpm so it won't go off when I put the AC on. Now, when I put on my AC, the idle comes down to 750-800rpm. Is this ok?

3. The car vibrates and jerks anytime I parked or remove my leg from the gas pedal while the AC is on but behave normally when I don't on the AC ? What could be the likely cause(s) of this?

Thanks in anticipation...

for the vibrations , check your engine mounts, there should be three of them. Make sure they are fastened properly. And for the hot air at noon, have the condenser washed properly by an expert, I still suspect leakage , so check the pressure of the gas you just filled , should be around 40psi, anything less is a leakage alert. Also have the AC air filter cleaned 7yrs is alot!!!.
