This weekend I had a family visiting from naija so decided to do tourist stuff... take the family to see Big Ben , London eye etc and generally walk around CL

a great shock there was an event by big Ben... some nudist event. I saw loads of naked men and women cycling . I didn't hear off the event before hand .. As in all their God given goods were on display .

My friend kids who are just 5 and 4 were like yuck aunty what is this..... giving me eyes like Is this how una dey do for London. I had to look for paper to cover their eyes . As in grown men things were in full display . Women the same .I didn't even know it legal to show God given gift in public and full display.

My eyes have seen it all .... shocked but amused . The pics i took are not as censored as this so went online to find a censored pic to show so mod wont delete

They have been doing this for the past 10 years..It is called world nakeeed bike ride to protest for over dependency on oil and lack of care for bike riders. They said they are naked to get people's attention, I think they just want to get naked for the sake of it.

This depends on what you are earning. I have twins and their nursery bill is over 2k a month..... Except you are earning well it better to be housewife oo until they are old enough for reception / primary .

Nursery of 3 is not beans and has to be more than your income to be worth it. Finding aupair might help as that cheaper than nursery for 3 kids

I'm a Stay at Home Mum for now God is helping us. Taking each day at a time.

I'm still a freshet here in d UK, came in bout 3weeks ago on a spousal visa. We're based in d Midlands (Nottingham).

Its been a really different experience which I'm enjoying.

I've done all d necessary things, only waiting to get my provisional DL. BRP, bank accounts, GP, NINo all sorted.

I've also been applying for jobs and luckily got one last week to resume July 2nd (though not the kind I really want but make man no just fold arms siddon for house), pay isn't too bad atleast for a newbie like me with no UK work experience and I'm not a professional. I have vast experience in sales, marketing and management (pharmaceuticals). Plan is to do it for few months while I take up some professional courses then switch to something bigger (God help me).

A little about my last UK trip a few months ago. It was my first time in the UK. I needed to go sort out my runs. I was to stay for a total of 6 weeks. To save cost of accommodation, I contacted my cousin in France who has a friend in the city I wanted to stay in the UK and he linked us up. We started chatting several weeks prior to my trip and I even called him a few times. He said there's no issue at all accommodating me. He even promised to pick me up at the airport. Told me how he is really close to my cousin and I have nothing to worry about.

He even asked me to send my flight itinerary which I did. We finally spoke before i departed Nigeria and he said he'd be waiting for me at the airport as I land.

When we landed, I started trying his numbers all to no avail! Called him on whatsapp but he didn't pick up. Sent him several messages on whatsapp and skype, they were delivering but he wasn't reading them. Later the messages also stopped delivering. I decided to chill a little for him thinking he probably had some delays getting to the airport, I no no say I don jonze!

After 4 hours I was still at the airport with no calls from him or reply to any of my messages, I called my cousin in France who also tried to contact him but also couldn't. I then knew that I was on my own. I booked airbnb and took a black cab to the place.

He never called me back throughout my stay in the UK. I tried to message him once, it was delivered but he didn't reply, even up till now. I wonder what was going on in his mind for setting me up to be stranded like that. Thank Jah I was fully prepped for my trip financially and all, so, I just had to spend the money I was trying to manage.

On speaking with some Londoners about it, I learnt that it is a common behavior amongst Nigerians in London. I say na waa o! Brothers behaving like savages to their fellow countrymen. Unless they see clearly that they have something to benefit from you, they avoid you like a plague. The rest na story for another day sha.

Welcome to the club...Na their way be that ! .........I have learnt to always book my accommodation since i was messed up on my first ever trip...I dont even tell my families and friends when am around any longer....We see eachother on the street and they are like " Na wa o , you go just enter london , you nor go call person" ......

Thats one thing i hate about UK ...Most especially the Asians and those Somalians....They feel like they are so privileged even more than the Britons sef

The UK tax system is not as bad as you make it look. Someone on £11,500 a year pays less tax than a Nigerian on equivalent pay in Nigeria. It is high for higher earners but some don't mind or simply go contracting where they pay less taxes.

This is fair enough now.....Unlike what i pay in naija .....and still dont get value for money .

Depends on where you work, the sort of people you work with, and how you present yourself to them.

One thing I know for sure is that in the highly professional work place, respect is earned. You get it even more if you demonstrate (without an attitude) that you know your stuff and are willing to help out.

Been here for just over 20 years and with time you learn a lot....through making your own mistakes, observing what happens around you, etc. But that’s life isn’t it?
