Not to change your job celebration topic, but anyone with experience on selling a car. My GF thinks i'm too cheap and unsophisticated for buying my cheap banger, and i have been caressing the idea of buying the newer cheaper model...I somehow realised some websites offer to sell your car off, as fast as in 24hrs!...Are they any good? Anybody?

They would fix the selling price, you might get your money earlier, but you loss in overall value.....

Is she willing to contribute financially towards your new swanky vehicle, that fits her social standing?

Buy what suits you and fits your pocket and bank account....

Best thing is not to shout about your good news and just keep calm because sharing it in d first place is inviting unnecessary financial responsibilities

When I registered they didn’t get back to me o. I just did a credit check for my job and saw a slot for electoral register with my name under it. That leaves me to assume that my name is on. Right?

@ Aphrodite007
Kindly shed more light on the credit check.
I tried applying for a credit check however I am unable to provide addresses for 3 years as I have only been in the UK for a month. How do I go about this?
Thanks

Just put 3years in that section, it's just coding and programming when you are ready.

However beware of credit checks that early, read somewhere that a bad check can affect ur scoring and also you have not done much to have a score albeit a good one.

Advise is build up for a couple of months say 6month by paying house rent, all your utility bills via direct debit, register to vote.

It's a gradual process that builds up from continuous inflow and outflow of cash regularly and timely

You have got to wait a bit , one month is too early there is little or no information about you in the system. Try to open an account, put your name on the electora register etc

To add to this also, excessive checking at your credit score by financal institutions, would also lower your credit score........

Ebay hun. There is an auto section.

First search based on the make, model, year and mileage of your car to get a general idea of what you can realistically get for it.

Then you can list it auction style or buy it now. I used the auction style but started the bidding price at the minimum I would accept for the car.

Set the listing time frame to last for about 1 week, if it doesn't sell, you are allowed to realist for free.

Post your listing to start preferably in the evening on a sunday as more people are free and probably not out late cos of work on Monday morning. That way your listing will end at the same time.

The more info and pics you add, the better.

There are fees to list on ebay and you would pay a proportion of the final selling price to eBay.

Morale of my epistle

1. Never give up because when you do that's when all hope will be lost.

2. Put God in all you do.

3. Follow up as much as you can, your job is in that plenty lot of impossibilities

4. Also make sure ur CV and cover letters are up to standard and constantly edit and review

5. Always focus your past experience on the expected job role and responsibilities

If anyone needs interview etiquette and questions, I have got some good ones I did not see on google

Congratulations. I had a similar kind experience and refused to give up till I eventually got what I wanted.

Idon't know about that. All I know is that your economy ticket does not include checked in luggage, you either pay extra or go premium economy. Just for those who booked economy and think it includes luggage and then get to the airport.

There's nothing wrong with saying no to requests. If someone gets angry because I said I can't help them out, then that's more reason for me to not even be inclined to their requests.

Because of human being, I nor go celebrate my success? Dem never born the pesin.. Loud it joor!!!

Noticed this with Virgin late last month, they have this new category called Lite/Light...no luggage!!- costs £65 each luggage!

Also Emirate are in on it too...just one piece of checked luggage for their cheapest ticket!!!

Abeg Ryanair/EasyJet should start. Hoping Nigerian Airways get into the mix by year end. The prices are out of this world! they want to turn us to another Jamaica!

Don't give up oo, u will be surprised and u can do it leisurely and see what comes of it.

Thanks Fati. I have a job but I would have loved one in my field and expertise. When I say I gave up, I mean that I gave up searching for a job in my field and just accepted this one that I have (which is still lovely but pays £10-15k of what I should earn normally). I will work for my current employer, after a few months I’ll start looking for in my field again. Thanks for the encouragement.

Is the credit check for a job or credit card? If it’s for a job, it doesn’t matter what comes out but if it’s for a credit card, I’ll advice you wait till you’ve lived here for at least 6 months, then use comparethemarket to find a credit building card or “initial” card (these are the only cards that you have have with no credit history but the interest is so high so ensure you pay back ALL).

So just fill the most you can for the dates and submit. And make sure it’s an initial card you’re applying for o, it goes against you if you apply for a credit card and get declined. (It will show on your credit check).

On the contrary Madam, some jobs require credit checks. A bad credit would mean the applicant does not get the job..........
