It has been six years since my ex boyfriend and I broke up and four and a half years since his marriage to my paternal cousin.

Two years ago, my elder sister sent me a photo of the wedding invitation to the wedding of our 25 year old cousin and to my utmost surprise, there he was, my ex. 

I was bitter because there I was, 31 years old and still single and not a single man in my life.  


I felt very restless at the wedding. Jealousy swam through my veins. He looked very handsome and all the ladies there complimented his height and good looks.


One month after the wedding,  I paid the newlyweds a visit at the home gifted to them.

He was surprised to see me and even told my cousin we were friends in school and that he 'dated my friend'.

That Sunday afternoon, my cousin received a call at her church to come over.

Rushing out, she left my ex and I alone in the house. Not long after, I felt uneasy and decided to leave. 

As he walked me to the door, he squeezed my butt really hard. I turned around to see him smiling. My guard was down and he asked for a 'one last time'. I hadn't been with a man in more than a year and I couldn't resist him. We had the most passionate quickie right there in his living room. He took my phone and flashed his before I left. 


My cousin kept inviting me over to her house after she found out I knew her husband from way back. We were usually casual around her using only our eyes to communicate. One day,  he even sent a whatsapp message to me while I was jisting with my cousin to meet up at our rendezvous. He left the house and I did shortly after. I was satisfied with being his side chick and no other man appealed to me.

We were meeting up three to four times a week. On some weekends he took me with him to Port Harcourt or Abuja on his various business trips.


Fast forward to some time in the future, my cousin has been going from one fertility clinic to the other. She would ask me to go with her, but I'd feel terrible doing it and I would decline, not once not twice.


The family is great and not putting her under any pressure but as a woman, she's terribly depressed.

Two weeks ago, I found out I'm pregnant and since I haven't been with any other man in years, I was undoubtedly sure who the father is. I called him up to meet. I explained the situation to him and he was elated.

He proposed I relocate to the US before it becomes obvious. I have my reservations because I also have family over there. This bittersweet reality is staring me in the face and I have no confidant.

What should I do? I constantly read how women my age are no longer seen as good for marriage. I love this child and can't begin to imagine abortion. I know I'm in the wrong. I know I really messed up, but I just need advice on what to do.

Is it possible for a hoe to close her legs?....
