Peter Drury's commentary during the match though. I wish he would be the commentator in our match against Croatia. I duff my hat for him. He's the best commentator on planet earth so far.

I really don't understand why some Peeps are shaking, having little or no hope in the Team. Are we parading Farmers as Players?! We have capable Players who can make it happen with the right Tactic and Formation.

If we play 3 - 4 - 1 - 2 Formation, with right Lineup, we ain't only gonna dominated the Match, we also gonna win convincingly.

Argentina was a victim of lack of pre-tournament friendly today. They can only get better from here on. This is only the FIRST round of an EIGHT rounds bout. So let's not celebrate yet. Let's not crown Cristiano Ronaldo the GOAT yet, there's still many more games left to play. We will count scores at the end of it all. It's game on ....

And by the way, like I said on twitter, before you start celebrating the demise of Argentina, keep this in mind: This isn't a good result for @NGSuperEagles. It means that we have to win our first two matches because Argentina can only get better from here on. I don't see dropping another point. An Argentina win would've been better for us.

From @OptaJoe:

13 – Since 1966, only Luigi Riva has attempted more shots in a World Cup game (13 vs both Sweden and Israel in 1970) without scoring than Lionel Messi did today against Iceland (since 1966). Shocker.

This is so untrue. Any team can beat any team. All you need is chance and time.

This may be a good result for us to finish top of the group. Nothing is certain. Just like Spain in 2014 Argentina may be out before the next round.

We're winning ...

Balogun ain't gonna play in this match, he's not fully fit and shouldn't be risked, hence I expect Rohr to play Omeruo, Ekong and Ogu in the 3-Man Defence.

Tyrone and Idowu as wingbacks, Mikel and Ndidi Pivot with Iwobi as a No. 10 in the Midfield. Then I wouldn't mind the Combo of Moses and Iheanacho upfront.

The Argentina I saw not only can be beaten but they can also not make it to the next round. Football is not about who can keep the ball the longest it is about getting the ball in the net. I believe the template has been set, get extra men on Messi and let the rest beat you if they can. Iceland were lucky but luck is part of the game.

Super Eagles camp update

We are already aware of Iceland... So focus is on Croatia now....

From @ColinUdoh:

When I interviewed @Ndidi25 last month, I asked him about Argentina. He said “Leave Argentina, they’re the last game. The most dangerous team that we should be worried about is Iceland. We have been watching their games and they will be our toughest opponents.”

Good game

Congrats Iceland

I once asked on this thread, that what if our group ends the way our WCQ group ended?

What if Argentina, like Algeria, can only pick 2 points finally?

That will mean we will beat Croatia 1-2, Iceland 3-1 and Argentina 4-0. Hmmmm...

Bros, facts are facts. You don't go to a tournament like the World Cup without preparing adequately especially considering that a vast majority of their players are playing overseas. Argentina dominated the game but there was zero cohesion in their game especially in the final third. Those where some of the things a few quality friendlies would have helped Sampaoli to sort out.

I think they would get it right as they play more games together ... hopefully, it wouldn't be too late for them.

I watched their match against Haiti, and I told peeps, they still are cursed. If they could play against Haiti, a non footballing nation, and can have 7 or how many shots off target. Then they will have huge problems. The only thing was Messi, remove his 3 goals, and they'd have struggled against them, so, I'm not totally surprised at today

He’s taken over from Martin Tyler as the best. But Derek Rae and Ian Darke aren’t far behind.
Here, Fox Sports has John Strong and Stuart Holden as the main commentators.
