I thought of that cause i saw some of the burnt cars with there doors open even the first car behind the tanker. May their soul R.I.P

but I strongly feel we need to learn from incidents so as to properly prevent or mitigate a future reoccurrance.

Though we might want to shy away from the logical part of this incident, we still need to ask questions.

Nigerians are not well educated on how to handle emergency situations. We are no proactive on the right issue. It doesn't take us up to 10minutes to burn a robbery suspect, but time to save our own lives, we turn reporter.

Some drivers don't even know how to handle brake failure, they don't know how to use their extinguishers...how do you expect them to know the right thing to do on sighting a fallen petrol tanker?

Then the issue of insurance. We don't embrace insurance here, that's why you see people risking their life for cars.

I won't be surprised to hear the driver of that tanker is alive. Those guys have very active adrenaline.

Lawlessness on part of the danfo driver triggered the accident. You see why we shouldn't pity theese folks when they fall in the lands of the law, especially Lagos State traffic agency?

Snapping photos whilst still in the pool of spilled motor spirit - and he infamous gasoline aka PMS? A liquid whose latent heat of vaporization is very low?

The painfull thing is that the dead don't feel no pain no more but it's the living that feels all the pain and agony of loosing them!

Let your common sense be common o, follow your survival instincts.

The summary of what he posted is simply that ; the majority of those that died in that fire incident directly and indirectly contributed to their own death

It is called learning from experience, do you know how many people would have been saved assuming they have this knowledge of abandoning the cars, quit taking pictures and save your lives first.
Let's not attribute everything to fate, rather let give more attention to safety first. A lot could have survived if their response time was fast.

Until such disasters happen, you get to see how ignorant the average Nigerian is but are totally full of themselves. Acting like they know it all whereas they know nothing. If the people who were closest to the tanker had even started to run, it would have caused a chain reaction and virtually everyone there would have made the best use of the time from the tanker falling to the PMS igniting.

The way these commercial drivers drive will make you query their sanity.

I actually think mental status assessment should be conducted before issuance of licence to these guys.

They were trying to save their vehicles cos' they don't have a comprehensive insurance package.

You skip insurance, thinking you are doing the insurance coy, you are doing yourself.

If you have one, run and leave the car to burn to ashes, go home sip coffee, file a claim and

get a replacement within 2 weeks.

This is also what happens, when you use your last card to buy a car and drink garri thereafter.

People joke with their lives a lot in Nigeria.

Two things scare me a lot on our roads. The first is hold up. The type of holdup that is so long that you can't see what is happening in front or what has caused it. And the second is having a tanker close to me. They give me the jitters. I can tolerate them on the road but not in a holdup.

I still plied this Lagos-Ibadan road only last week or thereabouts and a truck fell and caused a holdup. A tanker was directly behind me. Immediately I heard from some people that the holdup was caused by a truck and that the truck was leaking oil, I got out of the car, locked the doors and crossed to the road toward Lagos. I didn't return to my car until the truck had been moved from the road.

Some of the deceased drivers might not be the owners of those cars they were trying to rescue from the explosion.Oga no wan hear stories.He go call SARS to come and torture him if he no find his car.If Na me sef I go wan save oga property.Where he wan see millions take buy another car for him boss.Make oga go arrest him dead body make we see.

I'm quite sad, really sad about the accident, but the truth still remains that we need to learn/know the exact cause of this, so should it happen again(God forbid) people will know the first attitude is escape, run, save yourself first and ask questions later... Drivers also to know how and when to stop, switch lanes etc... It's a multi faceted event

Lagos should do away with those yellow buses driven by illiterate agberos. They have caused enough damage. Guess the bus driver may not know what he has caused.

Now it all started after a bus parked where there was no bus stop to pick passengers, and this incoming Tanker was trying to dodge the bus, When the Driver stepped on the Brake, And that was it all...
