My dear nairalander, please I have a very important question to ask about the 45 days issue.

I did my biometric before the 45 days. However, my flight booking is after the 45 days. Does this mean I won't be allowed to fly? On the visa sticker, it shows that I have enough time before I fly to dubai but the info am hearing on this forum is that you have to fly within that 45 days.

Please I need to know if anyone has tried to fly after 45 days and if they were allowed to fly at the airport or not? Please I need an answer, my heart is beating fast right now.

Few pages back, someone shared an experience where his brother wasnt allowed to travel because he had exceeded the 45days time frame. Hence, I am sure you don't want same. Just adjust your ticket to fit into your 45 days time frame from when your visa was issued in the UAE.

Go to ministry of education and tell them you want to attestate your degree cert. That's the best place to get your answers.

Thanks so much for your responses.

The truth is that I can't travel earlier than the date I chose. I wish I could but some personal and financial reasons beyond my control won't allow it.

I have to say this that nairaland has been of so much tremendous help to me ever since the beginning of this processing. One thing that hasn't been helping us in this part of the world is lack of information. This thread has been able to provide lots of information. However, I'll still say that there are too many speculations and assumptions and very little facts.

I had to walk into the embassy to make enquiries from the officials today and based on what I found out, the 45 days is still an assumption or otherwise a time span for the biometrics. I do not entirely trust them because of their corrupt processes and selfish mindset but I think if the 45 days deadline is official, it should be specified somewhere or the other by the UAE government, UAE is a very organized country from what have seen.

I agree that people's visas are been cancelled before entry but it's not only because of time deadline, I met someone whose visa came out this June and was cancelled. People's Visa are been cancelled even before 40 days. The little explanation I was able to get was that cancellation involves agents one way or the other.

Am not trying to mislead anybody but am willing to take this gamble. My Visa States clearly that I have almost a month before I move so I'm sticking to that. Those that have their visa cancelled should find out exactly why. There is a reason why the embassy is always telling people to contact their agent after having visa cancelled.

For what it's worth, I am willing to use myself as an example in this 45 days issue and am very optimistic. I'll share my experience later about the outcome so people can learn. I believe if am destined to go to UAE, some assumptions or speculations cannot stop me. I have already warned my agent not to try any nonsense.

Thanks again to everyone that has contributed to this thread.

so guys be careful and warn your friends and family not to relax with this biometric stuff.

I gave up almost 400k to this visa ish...turned out my name was not on the appointment list of the day even though I was given appointment for June 20something, Polly my slot was sold (typical once Nigerians are involved in anything).

my advice is once your visa is issued, book an appointment immediately and ensure you calculate the date given doesn't exceed or go close to the so-called 45days period even though it says 58 on my visa temporary copy.

a lot of bribery going on around the embassy I advice you follow suit to save yourselves stress and unnecessary spendings.

I have settled for a residence visa and thank God once it's out I have no business with Abuja. am told it will take a month or almost to process which I have started already.

Good luck to everyone and stay guided. here helps too.

Thanks for this piece of advise.

Pleaee house I wanna ask...is it true that the person issuing the eligibility letter at the Ministry of Education isn't on seat at the moment? Cos that's what the person helping me with the process said. I am sceptical about this really... anyone doing his/her attestation should kindly respond.

You still have to go to UAE embassy, Abuja for residence/employment visa, in this case you will still need to do medical test in their preferred hospital.

I have been observing this Thread since this year and noticed that even those that has never been to UAE are now the Special advisers on this Thread making those that has been here long enough to take the back seat.
These issues of visa and Bio metrics was explained by Justi4jesu or Nattybanta but no one took note and in same page people were still asking questions about same. Some of you guys tend to flood this thread with questions that was answered seconds ago maybe hoping to get a more comfortable answer from newbies.
I remember when the likes of Justi, Natty, Leosir, DrDre, Nonny and Many others with Long time experience in UAE always dedicate time here to offer selfless services. but now they have taken the back-seat cos you all just keep asking them if they are SURE or a Friend's Friend's told u that his friend said.
You guys should be Civil in this thread and quit speculations. If u don't have a genuine answer to any Question asked, keep it to yourself than causing confusion by speculating.

i still dont understand this 45 days thing. my visa was issued from UAE on 18th April, I did biometric on 31st May. I left naija on the 22nd of June and got to Dubai on the 24th of June.

Now, for everybody who's stil confuse, i'll use chekz169 case to xplain beta. Chekz169 entered UAE 24th June, ur 3 months will expires 28th Sept., meaning ur return flight shud be 25th Sept. (u have to leave UAE 3 days before ur visa expires)

Okay let me tackle this issue that is confusing all of you and for those giving out wrong information here.

Once your E-Visa is out and your agent sends it to you, then you have 45 days to visit the Abuja embassy for bio metrics/Payment and sticker, after that they give you appointment date for visa stamping/collection.

Because if you don't go to the embassy early, the visa might expire in your hands within those 45 days pending when you get an appointment at the Embassy.

After your visa sticker has been stamped on your passport, you have roughly 50-60 days validity to enter the U.A.E.

But I always advise travelers to leave within 1 month of receiving his/her visas from Abuja embassy.

Hope this helps.

i'm not trying to counter ur explanation, but after the visa is stamped on the passport, there's an expiry date on the stamped visa; what that date means is u have to enter uae before that date and then ur 3 months starts counting immediately u enter uae.
