Hello All,

Been a silent reader here. Although I discovered this thread after I submitted my TRV application, I have learnt so much from the visa application process from you all.

My TRV got approved yesterday, July 4.

My timeline is below:
Date of Submission (Online): May 16, 2018
Upfront medicals
Medicals passed: June 11
Approval and passport request: July 4

Documents submitted:

1. CIC forms
2. 5 page SOP
3. Personal Statement of Account with NGN2.8 (1.5m was transferred to me by my mum through a Deed of Gift)
4. Scholarship letter covering my tuition issued by UBC
5. Letter of sponsorship from my mum
6. Mum's account statement
7. UBC admission letter
8. Waec, Nysc certificates and IELTS result
9. Copies of awards I have won in my field
10. Qualification certificates, my transcript, CV
11. Evidence of landed property owned by my mum
12. My car ownership papers
13. My birth certificate
14. Employment letter and promotion letter, employment ID card
15. Police clearance certificate
16. My payslip and mum's payslip

I hope this helps someone. Truth be told, there is no exact method for getting a TRV approval. Just keep praying and holding on to God. When God says it is time, everything will fall in place.

Wishing all TRV hopefuls the very best.

Congratulations! It's indeed your time. Wish you the best in your career and in Canada.

Congrats @Dolzz,

An example of not 1 size fits all. I sight that you had a 5page SOP and got approved.

Just wanted to state that, following our recent conversations on this forum as per this topic.

Goingforward.

@Joe, try to reduce your sop. I'm only putting myself in the shoes of the VO and not claiming to be one.

I wish you the best.

Have you contacted the hospital you had your medical yet?

No. Should I? Just did, they said it was sent may 30th. Let me wait a few days for a reply or update on my cic account before thinking of going back to the clinic for redocumentation.

Thank you all for the Congratulations guys. Just returned from VFS. Submitted my passport and paid for delivery (8,060 NGN) via courier as I'll most likely not be available to go pick it up in the near term.

Up Next:

Opening a bank account with RBC (convo initiated with the bank)
Flight bookings (to Ontario for the renewal of my passport then to Nova Scotia)
Accommodations (partly sorted)

Better days ahead for all.

Please how long did it take to submit and does one have to go early for submission..Thanks

It’s better you go for redocumentation if there’s no update by tomorrow.

Hello gurus.

I'm new here. I have read all the important links on page 1. very helpful. It's now time to take it 1 step at a time.
I have 3.69/5gpa computer science. I aim to go for a master's. I have a Toefl of 105. I read about how hard it is to get a master's degree admission. my question is. can this secure a master's admission in Canada? I'm trying to spread my options this time.

I ll also appreciate if I can get a direct contact I can be asking the preliminary basic questions. thank you

Not long at all. There shouldn't be a crowd for submission. I got there at about 1PM

Was directed to get a ticket on the 2nd floor then proceed to the 1st floor for submission where the officer asked for:
1. A document I got after biometrics (the one with the visa fee receipt) and
2. the request letter from CIC

Go with a photo copy of both or photocopy right there on the 2nd floor when you're asked for the copies

Of course don't forget your International passport

Hello, I sent u a pm. please reply. thanks

Hi,

Its not hard per se however it is quite competitive as you'd imagine. I believe your CGPA is decent enough to secure admission into a Masters program, lower CGPAs have especially if your final 2 years were solid. Your TOEFL shouldn't be necessary for the admission though. Most schools give Nigerians a waiver for that english language requirement.

Just apply to multiple schools (of course there's the application price tag to consider 110 - 200 CAD depending). Don't go applying to the Top 5 schools only o; Depending on your risk appetite spread your application across the tiers. Admission is quite competitive.

Also, apply as soon as possible.

Why is it so difficult to get MSc. Chemistry in Canada as a Nigerian?

No supervisor is interested in working with me, I graduated with a 4.10GPA, I need your advice!!

It's not really about the GPA.
These schools are mostly research oriented so if you aren't intellectually curious with no clearly defined research history and maybe future, they wouldn't admit you.

Hope this helps.

Under SOA should do
Thanks for your response
Do you suggest I arrange it in such a way that each SOA follows the corresponding payslip or the 2 SOAs first, followed by the payslips . I mean my own SOA and that of my sponsor then my own payslip and that of my sponsor?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by MeinKampf: 5:19pm On Jul 05, 2018
Guys please where do you advise I put both my payslip and that of my sponsor ? Under proof of finance or under supporting documents?
