Please people I need reply to these: I got admitted (conditional) in one of the universities in Quebec for PHD with partial funding. I'm about applying for visa but I've not gotten Quebec Acceptance Certificate (QAC). I also have not paid my tuition fee. I want to know if I can apply for visa without proof of tuition Payment and QAC.

Also, can someone tell me if I can submit my docs at the Canadian embassy in Abuja.

Good morning bosses, please I need your advice. I was able to secure a supervisor at Simon Fraser university. But he can't fund me and I intend funding myself but the school requires that students not funded by Professors should secure a scholarship in their home country as they (sfu) don't accept self funding. What can I do as I really want to work with man and the tuition of the school is very cheap. The Professor has already asked me to ask the Dean of Grad studies for a way around it but I also want to know your opinions please. Thanks

Is it for MSc or PHD?

OKay, my timeline.

Applied on the 20th of April

Had my biometrics done on the 24th of April

Naso i begin wait...Then got medical request July 4th.

Medical passed update July 6th.

Approval July 9th.

DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED.

Offer letter from the school
My SOP ( I took my time to do this)
Letter of sponsorship from my brother( Well aligned with my SOP)
SOA of sponsor( my brother)
MY CV
Police report

Ladies and gentlemen, that's all i submitted, yes! Just that, not even my school certificate.

So a couple of times, i saw people's applications, their documents and i lost all hope, but one thing is certain, I never forgot calling on GOD, because even the best applications got denied. His GRACE and MERCY definitely showed up for me.

To add also, i was in Canada for a couple of weeks earlier and i had gone for a short program in the same field in the US and i returned promptly.

Even though i submitted my application before i fully got involved here, i really truly appreciate everyone here, the wealth of knowledge and wisdom here cannot be underestimated. God bless you guys!!!

E pain me say i no baf since morning, i for don resume VHS now to drop passport.lol but the place too far.

Please what is the average processing time to have my passport returned back for pickup?

All TRV hopefuls, all the best!

Going by the standard of many, this was nothing but a joke application, but again student Visa applications isn’t all about documents. In my opinion, a lot have to do with suitability.

Big Congratulations to you...and from the bottom of my heart, I wish you many more success stories that come to many as a joke. grin

NYSC cert is just to explain that 1 year gap, if you can explain something else in place of NYSC(like working or doing any training) you will be good to go. The vo expects you to explain every gap from your years in school till date(from primary school-date)

No desrepect though.. from primary school is not considered a gap just from your university post graduation or post secondary, stay blessed

Hi guys,
I did my police clearance certificate today at CID Alagbon,Lagos.. The police officer initially told me 15K, thank God for the hints I got here. I bargained for 5K, lol. The process was pretty fast,in less than 30minutes I got mine.

No you can't submit without CAQ if you are going to Quebec. Payment of tuition depends on the school if it's mandated that you must pay . Yes you can submit at Abuja

20 business days. It's better you use registered mail so you know when it's delivered . I used NIPOST regular mail @#250 and it took about 19 days before getting to Quebec student's section but you can use DHL or ups if you want it to get asap

You can’t apply for a visa to study in Quebec, without a CAQ. You could try at your own risk, but it’s almost a definite denial.

My God has done it again oo! Very long post alert!!!

Thanks to all members of this prestigious platform, couldn't have done it better without you guys! @Frankrobbn1 thank you! @jnyuwa thanks for picking all my calls, you were of great help! @mcobex thank you!

Now my timeline guys;

Application submitted: May 29th
Biometrics done and completed: May 30th
I did an upfront medical ooo! Yet medical request gotten on June 29th.
That was where the tension began. My friend had the same issue, she sent an email to London office and got medical passed the next day. I sent mine, nothing happened! I had to send to accra, nairobi, turkey, dubai, lagos, even filled the webform...finally, on July 5th, medical exam passed! Till today, none of these offices has replied my email, I guess the right office just updated the info on my account.

Then today, July 9th: VISA APPROVED!!!
Docs submitted:
-All required IMM forms.
-Almost 2pages sop.
-letter of sponsorship (dad's letter was strong, he said he was keeping the promise he made to me cos I told him during my undergraduate studies o, dat if i made a first class, I would have my masters abroad).
-6month dad's SOA with 8M closing balance.
-reference letter from bank.
-1st academic year tuition fee receipt ($10,300cad).
-dad transferred 2.8M to my acct for living expenses, hence my SOA.
-dad's landed properties (I guess this was my home tie, said I will inherit one of the properties for the future establishment of *** in nigeria, as my long term goal upon return to my home country. Dad also said same in his letter, including that they are expecting my return upon completion of studies).
-dad's CAC docs for his business, i even uploaded a screenshot of the public search of the business name on CAC website, just incase.
-my nysc discharge cert. (April 2018)
-My waec cert
- parents and siblings birth certificate and mine.
- my CV
-transcript
- academic exellence cert showing graduation awards.
- ref letter saying i am a volunteer with ***
- my employment letter showing i am also volunteering with ***
- all my certificates of attendance to public health related conferences and programs (i just guessed this could let them know that i have been involved in the healthcare system in Nigeria).
- police clearance
Then prayer prayer prayer! I dont know of this helped buh I kinda had a good arrangement in my application. Each doc had the title written above it, to make for good recognition. Also this was an ONLINE application, you dont need an agent to do your thing, just grab the neccessary info and do it right!
Thank you once again guys! It will be your turn soon.
