Both stories are typical examples of human beings, however the similarity btw both was that they were remorseful n made effort to repent/change

1. You need to speak to a mature older person or a counselor about your pains and troubles.

2. You need a great deal of self Discipline. You condition yourself to say No to things you don't want to do. You stand by that No. Remember if you give in into gambling, you will become a slave to it. It will be controlling you instead of you taking charge and controlling it. Let your know be No. Learn to be in charge. It may not be easy but, keep pushing and don't give up.
To be a master over fear, you must face the fear courageously, conquer it and gain freedom.

3. If you're xtian/Muslim, you preoccupied yourself with religious activities.

4. You need to change or limit the cycle of friends you keep. Friends who will tempt you into joining them to gambling, change or reduce your friendship with them.

5. If you're jobless or unemployed, you need to stay busy and occupied. Find something to do, if you don't mind, learn a trade or a skill depending on your area of interest. Learn a skill that will add value to your life.

Trust me, there are more cases like him. I know someone who used his sch fees and house rent to play nairabet. During exam period he will tell us that he is going for exam,but he will go to a playstation shop to play FIFA. It was later we discovered that he was no longer a student. Eventually landlord drove him away from the hostel after so much hiding because he could nt pay up his rent.
