Dem no get competitor and rivals, that's why they re doing like this..

If people can switch to ip tvs and Amazon sticks and online streaming platforms it will be better..
But then again, network stability will be a hinderance embarassed

Apart from network instability, what about data consumption and pricing? That's the main issue. I hate multi choice and just wish for an alternative.
After realizing that TSTV won't work, they changed their plan.

we don't need to argue with DSTV ,don't just subscribe for one month and they will see the effect on their sales .I think is high time ADENUGA invest into this cable network. where is TSTV?

I talked about this about 10years ago. This should be his area of strength, leveraging on the facility he has already

DSTV is not a monopoly. If you are not happy with them go elsewhere.
It's a monopoly. Why do you think skysport can't give any service provider their sport Channel down here?

Multi choice are nothing but rogues.

Do I blame them? No

Why, because people that suppose to be protecting and fighting for us are selfish rogues.
For more than a decade, Nigerians have been pressing for pay as use but since our senators, rep, and other government officials are enjoying view to air they don't care about we the masses.

I knew DSTV will look for ways to regain back their money paid as fine.
it is either you subscribe or discontinue your subscription, And if you feel they are making too much profit, set up your own satellite TV as Dstv is not a monopoly. After all Dstv no be food

The reason why they are increasing price is BUHARI! sad

Some of you don't have sense...Did Dstv start increasing subs today? Compare the price of premium bouquet as at 2008/2009/2010 with what obtains today.

Believe me, DSTV is over rated...

Some people watches about 5 to 8 channels from dstv for the whole month... The rest are just there to complete number...

If you find Zeeworld, Telemundo, Sports, Music, Gospel, News, etc, which I feel are the few channels most people watch, you will see them in other Cable TVs...

Honestly, I left DSTV since 2012 and I never regretted it, after all I still watch the important news, sports, music and gospel channels I need. From CTL.

Well you're right. My reasons for saying there are no viable competitors may be self-centered/biased.

I'm already used to watching some channels/programmes on dstv, which I consider irreplaceable (and sadly, Start times and Kwese don't offer such).

The kind of Nollywood movies I saw on Kwese for example are sadly disappointing. I'm already used to watching largely recent 2017-2018 Nollywood movies on ROK 1 & 2, I mean the type you see in naija cinemas. I don't see why I should go back to old school movies at the same cost sad sad

i feel u bro, i got the message on my screen last night, i have been doing the same calculation, and will finally stick to DStv hoping they reconsider, i watch good movies on AMUrban, RoK and Rok2, i havent seen the ones on Kwese to make any comparison but reading this from u, mehn, my mind is made up, lets keep managing and hoping it wiill be better even though it hurts

why can't we have our own indigenous digital TV service provider?

The reason they are increasing prices their pay TV subscription is because APC has asked them to bring money towards their 2019 presidential campaign, so the only way to recoup that money is to shift the burden to her teeming subscribers. You think those South Africans don't have sense?

asuustrike2009:

They are sensible competitors. We have Star times, Actv Ctl and among others. The strategy of multi choice is football as that has been their selling point. Buying the right to air EPL,German league and among others are expensive. The highest bidder gets the right to air it in Sub Sahara Africa. Unfortunately multi choice will continue because many of her subscribers watch super sports channels. This invariably mean they accrue more revenue from subscribers paying for premium package. With this, it is easier for them to buy pay TV rights. By the time there is a drop on premium package, the price will fall

AcTv that ate my money and disappeared in 2016. I liked them but I dunno what happened.
