He also left Gbonyin people in total darkness for years

Their is a popular lady from that Gbonyin local government, they call her 'Sade Gbonyin'. Fayose probably relied on her to deliver the local government.

Nope

This didn't have any effect ,he isn't the fisrt to alienate anyone , tinubu was against OBJ and the entire PDP run government but won re-election and even ensured Fashola won

APC rigged him out that's all

He hoped popularity would win but that works in countries with strong institutions where elections are free and fair and not where the electoral body in under the imcumbent

He lost same way GEJ lost by rigging

I see Nigerians say they voted out GEJ and I laugh

Votes don't count in Nigeria , rigging does

APC know how to rig , GEJ believed buhari was always loosing so he would loose again but reality kicked him in the balls

Buhari and APC had been perfecting rigging from State levels and did same in the federal

In 2019 your votes won't count either APC will rig and win again, unfortunately

PDP had been rigging too but APC have the more.cerebral team hence perfected a system they met., Hence they are way better at it

It's a case of the student.becoming better than the master

Vites didn't count in 2015 , surely they won't in 2019

The Victor will be the master rigger

Wrong perception!
APC/Buhari won because of people's desire for new Government and sympathy for Buhari. APC was able to gain additional 3m to Buhari's previous 12m votes.

PDP Lost because APC block their rigging mechanism that fetches them over 20m votes in 2011, leaving them with 12m+ Votes in 2015. 2011 was a year Jonathan was well favour, I even met some who voluntary claim to have balloted more than 5 times for The PHD GEJ.

The Mechanism employed by APC was to announce the result on social media before the official release from INEC, in fact, some media house release 90% of the result which indicates APC win before Jega announce his own.

It is a False claim that Election was massively rigged in 2015, because as a ad-hoc staff during 2015 election in Kaduna, all party agents were present even till dusk to get Polling unit ballot result, they even followed us to the collation-centre. Present at the collation-centre are representatives of Civil Defence, NPF, Election observers, Party Agent. All of us (4 ad-hoc staff) in each poling-unit were asked to stand in their midst as if we are facing panel and call out our numbers while all of them are recording, a copy of the result sheet was given to all the reps in the panel.

With that experience, I believed inflating, falsifying or padding result number is impossible, and PDP did not give evidence that such happens. the failure of pdp was its inability to inflate election result as done under morris iwu

Fayose stupidly believed that Ekiti people are fools because we gave him a second chance in 2014. The 2014 victory got into his head and he felt he's one kind of political genius that knows it all. He quickly dismantled the united coalition that worked for him and made himself the alpha and omega of everything in the state. He failed to fulfil all his promises to political leaders in his own party and when they complain, he tags them an enemy and start victimising them. People who couldn't stomach such nonsense started leaving the party for him. Instead of retracing his steps, he became more hardened and told everybody that cannot accept his dictatorship to leave the party. More people left.

With his attitude coupled with the fact that he doesn't listen to the opinions of others, his downfall was just a matter of time. To show how stupid and arrogant Fayose can be, he publicly announced his preferred successor almost a year before the election. That alone gave his opponents both within and outside the party enough time to strategies against him. APC quickly reached out to those they knew would be aggrieved after PDP primary and reached a working agreement with them to defect once Fayose succeeds in imposing Eleka.

More foolishly, Fayose choose a candidate from Ikere Ekiti and still went ahead to create problem for him in his hometown by wagging an unnecessary war against Olukere, the traditional and spiritual head of the town. Olukere was arrested and locked up for some days in Ado-Ekiti few months to the election. Fayose's supporters openly celebrated the public humiliation of the traditional ruler without thinking of the political consequences. On election day, Olukere's supporters and the people of Afao-Ikere quarters turned up for APC thereby resulting in an almost equal division of Ikere votes. If Ikere had voted solely for their son, PDP would have won the election.

Apart from his crass arrogance, Fayose is also very stingy. He believed he can always get what he wants from people by manipulating them. In days towards the election, billions of naira was raised from PDP governors but Fayose sat over the money alone. Even Eleka didn't have access to campaign funds. Party members were complaining discretely since nobody could confront him openly. His stinginess also led him not to fulfil his N10,000 promise to motorist that agreed to park their vehicles in government house when Buhari visited the state. Most of the drivers failed to turn up for him on election day.

Finally, he allowed Adeyeye to leave the party. That was the last straw that broke the camels back. Adeyeye was the leader of the party before Jonathan hijacked it for Fayose in 2014. Adeyeye was placated with a ministerial appointment so as not to leave the party. In 2018, Fayose saw no reason to placate him. He instead ordered Mere Olayinka and his lackeys to attack him in the media. The outcome is what we saw last Saturday.

You are truly ekiti based, not all those online writers who understand nothing about what is really happening in ekiti. Kudos.

People that talk like you are obviously completely ignorant of the reality on ground in Ekiti. The election was free and fair. The security agencies on ground were neutral. Fayose is a complete dictator and most Ekiti normal people were patiently waiting for July 14 to be liberated from the occupation of Ekiti by touts, thugs and nonentities. Thank God they are free. Nobody really wanted Fayemi but Ekiti saw that Fayemi was the only option now strong enough to match the strength of Fayose. He was the only one they believed with the capability of silencing Fayose's killer gangs. Ekiti people were living in bondage. They were suffering in silence and praying for Liberation. Hallelujah!!! it has happened.!! Freedom at last.

People got tired of Fayose just like they are tired of Buhari. Wether APC or PDP wins is not a question of interest to voters now.
They will vote any party that displaces the people in office who have disappointed the people so badly.

Some will think that because APC won Ekiti, that it is a sign Buhari with APC will also be supported to win.
APC in Ekiti was embraced as a means to remove Fayose.

Any party poised to replace Buhari, will also be embraced when the time comes. This is assuming fair elections are allowed to happen when the time comes or that impeachment proceedings do not remove Buhari sooner.

But we all know that PDP too are master riggers, even if APC rigged as u seem to be so sure of,is fayose Worthy of being trusted by ekiti people any more?Let's call a spade what it is,fayose have bastardized the power and responsibilities entrusted in him. When tinubu was in his shoes he put in some performance by embarking on massive developmental projects in Lagos and workers welfare was never toyed with.Fayose made things harder for himself by imposing a candidate on his party bigwigs. He will definitely loose

For not paying workers for more than five months and you expect them to continue to keep you there is foolishness. I have a soft spot for Fayose but reading this article I now understood why he lost and I therefore believed that Fayemi truely won. This is simply victory for democracy in Nigeria. Dr Fayemi make your people happy.God bless you.

Fayose is a popular politician and he commands many fans and supporters, but his vocal and overbearing fans and supporters are all politically value-less fans and supporters in the grand scheme of things, especially in Ekiti state where it matters most, but his main supporters are Igbos, disgruntled and anti Nigerian elements and of course, out of state clowns like Wike.

These out of state jokers gave him the typical flawed sense of support, aid and comfort that means nothing to the hungry, abandoned and disenfranchised people of Ekiti state and he even spends more time on matters and issues beyond his own state than on the people of ekiti state, he even commissioned more projects outside Ekiti than in his own state.

He's a nuisance and complete waste of time and opportunities.
