What app? Once you download Google installer from the mi store, you should get all the necessary Google framework and services. You can then navigate to Google contact sync in your app list.

I downloaded Google contacts from play store. I also have Google installer. The Apk was sent to me by protein.

As it is with China ROM, factory reset is advised.
Then install "Google Installer" from Mi Store...and allow it to run its course... Then locate Google contact sync in your phone.

You will not be able to receive calls/ sms if 2g is the only available network mode. If you try to initiate a call, you'll get 'emergency call only' or 'no service' even if it's still displaying 3G.

But with 'wcdma preferred', it will switch you to 2g.

Tested on different phones across all gsm networks

U can only get info on an incoming call if ur network is on 3G or 4G

Just sold my redmi note 4 and being without a phone for some days now is starting to take it's toll on me. I'm starting to have xiaomi withdrawal symptoms

2g is the oldest and has the widest coverage, so forcing your phone to '3g only' in areas where you have only 2g doesn't make sense.
