Your observation is not the problem. The problem is that you are ignorant about the state of affairs in the Niger Delta, especially as it pertains to the socio-linguistic makeup of the region. Even in your obvious ignorance, you were making careless statements and assumptions including but not limited to:

1. That all the languages spoken in Edo State are dialects of Bini (this is ignorance at its peak. The Edoid language family comprises related languages that are not mutually intelligible whatsoever. Even within a group like Urhobo, we have languages such as Okpe and Uvwie that are not intelligible to other Urhobo speakers).

2. That those who speak pidgin do not speak their indigenous languages intra-ethnically (you cannot substantiate this except you have visited EVERYWHERE in the Niger Delta and have spoken to EVERYONE. In my village alone, Urhobo is spoken by all but in cities such as Warri or conurbations such as Abraka, Ughelli and Sapele, pidgin is commonly spoken ALONGSIDE Urhobo).

3. Assuming that pidgin is not a formal language or a 'proper' language (I faulted you on this and pointed out that pidgin is 100% formal and has attracted academics from all over the world).

Above all, you proved incorrigible and are unwilling to take corrections and apologise for your crass ignorance, senile effontry and crude vituperations. UK resident indeed!!

I didn't say everybody in Bayelsa though not the rural area just Yenagoa and you know Portharcourt people has the cleanest English Delta also has some intonations they all seem to have that Urhobo accent even if they not from the tribe or speak it. Maybe it's because you're from there and you've been hearing your fellow deltans speak for long so it's sstarting to feel normal. listen when they pronounce Sh and Ch sounds like Chop they pronounce it as Shop. that's Delta accent even Bayelsans too share that Shosh for church accent too. Most Bayelsans in the Southern most places where they speak Izon and Nembe you'd hear them saying SOS for Church. But for New born Yenagoans it's not like that although they sometimes say Jejus for Jesus but it's just a few people the ones that stays near or are Epie Attisa speakers. But really I tell you the Yenagoans who speak pidgin as a first language don't really have tribal intonations like me.

the sh for CH thing about the urhobos is true but thats a mispronounced word which is also common with lots of tribes but intonation of the Igbo's for example when they talk is just something else. Anyway, bottom line is, pidgin English should be recognized as such since everyone in Nigeria now love it.

Anambra has minimal pidgin English, unless you are a Hausa or Yoruba (with visible tribal marks), the first language you will receive anywhere in Anambra is Igbo. This does not mean they are not fluent in pidgin English.
