I tire oh, Frank created the thread to Chronicle his daily experience in the USA as a new immigrant. Slowly it has been hijacked by people asking about visa stuffs.

As the time for the my admission to school draws closer, I’ve become increasingly worried about how I’d pay my tuition. I had made up my mind to be working and schooling at the same time and save up to pay my “school fees”. But then, the only way I’d make enough money to pay up would be to work crazy hours or get a second job which would tell heavily on my school work. So despite the fact that I make good money at my current job (for my academic qualifications), I was on the look out for programs that would help fund my tuition. Like I said, My initial plan was to keep my current job as a CNA, get a new car and register as a driver with Uber and Lyft thus, getting a second job.

Some weeks back, my younger sister back from school with this flyer, her friend told her about an agency that has a program to pay for tuition for students in exchange for working with UPS (the postal agency). I quickly registered for the program online and applied for a job at UPS. Fingers crossed


To be honest, I’m increasingly getting tired of working here. Don’t get the wrong, the pay is extremely gooood, but my bad days at work are becoming more and more frequent. The most recent one has had me questioning my career choice. Here’s what happened:

Let me give u a basic illustration, Mr A went to study IT (cyber security)in school which will take him 4 years to complete, with hefty student loan which he will repay.. Mr B does research on cyber security, takes the certification,passes it roll out his resume, once he can defend his resume he gets the job. Mr B has successfully Eliminated 4 years of schooling and a hefty student loans, before Mr A graduates MR B has already had 4 years of experience in the field.. That is why i said if you are still young kindly go to school, but if age is not on ur side use the back door.. Shikena

Glad you clarified, you meant another way to get skills and not a shortcut to immigration.
There is still the problem on how to get over there and work with that certificate without a visa that will entitle you to work.

Where is your abroad? US don't value Nigerian medical degrees though.

That's not true. a medical degree from an accredited university is recognised. to get into residency in the US, you have to pass your usmles very well and get necessary us clinical experience

Nursing degree bro. You can take boards almost immediately and start working while schooling for your masters or Nurse practitioner license
