Then we should link up bro.... I submitted 2 weeks ago. I did not apply in Nigeria.

Hope you have started packing bags, we will get it.

Good day,

Please did you pay all the tuition?

Ermm, Did you apply as a Nigerian currently in the UK? or as a citizen of the UK. I don't think location of application/applicant determines the duration. Just to be sure things are not mixed.

All the best mate!

Naijaforeigner:

Thanks bro, we should link up. I would collect my visa this week by God’s grace (I speak by faith).

I am currently in Newcastle so I applied in London.

Wassup with Canada office though? It says 1 week processing time from the Uk for study permit but tomorrow makes it 2 weeks since I submitted (paper application) and still no response from them and my application status has not changed.

Where are you applying from ....United Kingdom. I am not a citizen but I think location matters. Do you know medicals is not needed cos I am applying in UK? Why is that if location is not important?

I could be wrong but I think location matters.

Good day,

Please did you pay all the tuition?

The requirement to get the LOA is you must pay at least first term fees. The total fees for 1 year (2 terms) was 16,000 Canadian dollars.

Bro let me advice, I think there are cheaper colleges in Canada. I chose Fanshawe college because it was a last minute decision to try Canada instead of doing my masters in UK. I never planned for Canada. The only school that still had admission (to the best of my knowledge) as at July for fall was Fanshawe college. I accepted it sharply.

Since you are applying for winter, you can try other cheaper schools.

If you don’t have citizenship, student or resident status in the UK, you have to come back to Nigeria and apply. As one sacrificial lamb proved last year, if you apply without these, you would be rejected based on status in country of application.

No you don’t pay if you have a place to stay with a relative or friend. Just produce a letter, notarized preferably, agreeing to house and feed you. Even so, nobody ever prepays for room and Board. What is prepaid for is tuition for one year.

Are you in Newcastle for visit? if no then you should contact CIC to know how far with your app cos it has exceeded the normal time, but if you are on visit then the processing timeframe will that of Nigeria(and it's not advisable to apply from outside your country if you are not a legal resident of the other country). Best of luck

Boss, i have a student status in the UK. Infact, like I said above in one of my posts, Canada was a last minute decision and the only reason I tried it was because I noticed processing time in Uk was 1 week.

I have the option of renewing my student status next month for masters here in UK.

I must specially thank you and Mcobex for your contributions on this thread as it has been really helpful.

You need to calm down with your sarcastic reply. The joke is on you. Read my response to the gurus above.

Just so you know, you need to submit a photocopy of your BRP (to show you have a legal resident status in UK) as one of the documents.

One of the reasons why I decide to stay in ghost mode is cos of people like you. God bless you mate.

You are very welcome and all the best to you as you relocate. Might take a little longer than the stipulated one week for you as they have to check up on a few things owing to your unique standing in the UK.

This could also help others too. Whenever you are ask to put 10years work experience, It actually calculated like this. E.g @Joe10 has 4years work experience + NYSC (1year)+ BSc degree (4 or 5years), when you sum everything up you will discover you have covered the 10 years work experience and again the work experience is trying to know what exactly you have been doing for the past 10 years be it schooling, working, volunteering e.t.c. So @Joe10 what did you put in addition to your 4years work experience?

I never knew this includes my educational history. I have worked for three organisations within these 4yrs but to make it complete the required 10yrs i stated that i worked 7yrs with an organisation whereas i worked for only 1yr. I hope the VO will not find anything wrong with this sha.

Thanks for the enlightenment.

You applied from London!!!.. I presume you have a valid permit to be in the U.K, hence you applied from London.

What program are you going in for?.

I also tap into your prophecy about the Visa. Maybe you should mail them by the end of the week.

Good day house,

i have a 3 year bsc in computer science and all the universities in canada i tried applying to have stated that a four year course with an average of 75% is the minimum admission requirements. I'd like to try pgd but i graduated back in 2014, are there no success stories on pgd anymore

But is it normal. Like do Canadian universities take this long to make an admission decision

It is over normal self. But it depends on the school. Some give administration on rolling basis, while some give admission after a deadline for application. So it depends. Those in the category of the later can take up to 3 months or more.
