AAA games are expensive and cost millions of dollars to make. Even in America and Europe, most studios are indie studios. Tell us the AAA games that Brazilians, Indians and other countries more developed than us have produced. |

Nice try. Your topic is actually useless to be honest. If you know what AAA games are you wouldn't use that in this. Just wasted few minutes of my life reading this. |

rentAcock:You're a big fool for saying that. This is why nigeria will never grow, because of dull youths like you. OP made a very good point. Video gaming is a very big business around the world. Do you know what "Esport" is?. It's basically playing games for the entertainment of other and making money doing it. A lot of American kids are quitting School to became "Professional Video Game Players". Do you know what "Twitch" is? It's a website where people pay you just to watch you play games. GOOGLE the gamer "Ninja", he makes almost 300 Million Naira a Month (yes a month) from people watching him play games. Esport a Video Game playing Competition is going to be in the Olympic in 2020 (GOOGLE IT) and people are going to win medals from playing games and you're saying shit like Donkey. We Nigerians really need to grow up. |

I've always looked and thought of you as an i-di-ot-ic sadistic myopic gnome specied cretin, even up till now. Especially after seen you condemn and bash other people. One thing is for sure though.., you are right a thousand percent on this post and I wish you had put it up in d graphics section so dat in can be pondered upon. Most of d points here actually interprets what we do over there but for a lot of reasons. I think I'm getting to understand you a bit more as I begin to see things more objectively. Kudos and nice write up. |

cao:me again what? is there anything wrong in my post? I just said the obvious truth and I don't see anything wrong with it or were you expecting me to hail this post that makes no sense? if a post is good is good, if a post is bad is bad. that's it no preferential treatment. And you asking me to contribute, in case you don't know, me commenting in this section is just same as contributing so..... |

LucemFerre:All your points are spot on bro. Unfortunately your fellow country men only care about insulting politicians and hopeful of being an oppressor someday (sadly that is the Nigerian dream). Evidently you can tell how uneducated the nation is from all the replies you've gotten. However if you still have hope in the country, and you want to give change a try, research on innovative education with tech (Edutech) think VR. Reach out if you ever need a research partner should you decide on that path. |

MobileGees:I don hear, I saw this as a post that would get people talking. I actually understand where the OP is coming from. Especially, when you see other countries actually sponsoring their game devs, especially the indie ones. But, our government, much like some commenters on here, don't even see the full potential, they're so caught up on oil. The same dunces that will complain about gaming being only for kids will go and gamble away their money. |

MobileGees:He came to flex, but he didn't know whose house he was flexing in. But, y'all know I don't just ban anyhow, unless you deserve it or actually ask for it. Plus, I could have technically banned him on the spot with his ogun comment. Instead, countered with amadioha, but the guy can talk nonsense. How can he not know that the gaming industry is big money industry? |

cao:so you think you are now successful because you are a nairaland mod? to all shouting, nigerians are not ready for video gamers, how many nigerians subscribe to gaming websites?, before telling the govt to copy other countries, research well on the citizens.. how many nigerians are well fed to the extent of subscribing for video games? we can't copy everything oyinbo people do abeg |

cao:I agree, the gaming is a big industry indeed but currently in Nigeria, Gaming is not really a profitable thing to venture in I've got alot of point to back this up but I don't have strength to type it (yes I'm a lazy Nigerian youth ). The only exception is if he creates his video game and sell it abroad, and that will limit the potential of the video game (Don't have time to type reasons |

| Re: Here's Why An AAA Nigerian Video Game Title Is Highly Unlikely by HajimeSaito(m): 6:39pm On Jul 25, 2018 |
LucemFerre:It is. But at this stage in our development as a nation, I would rather have an Elon Musk or Bill Gates than have a video game designer. The world is rapidly advancing towards artificial intelligence and we are already too far behind. I love games, but no matter how good a game is, at the end of the day its just entertainment. There are more important tech goals for us to achieve before we can consider the luxury of a gaming industry. |
