I came here asking you guys to criticize the my preference but you guys didnt. You said nothing other than asking my budget then suggesting Note 5 with nothing to support or criticize my choice until i confirmed my order then you guys started trolling me.

How are you sure its just gsmarena i visited? I visited this thread, what advise did you tell me before i made the order? Have you used the phone before? Have you done a proper comparison? You want me to swallow your recommendation whole line and sinker.

All i asked was look at Mi 5 and criticize. Have you done that? If you did, what in its specs is the reason i made a bad choice other than its a 2016 phone?

Please do justice and lets be constructive.

Hi. If you prefer to spend a little less, have a slightly better battery, an average camera, microSD card support, and decent budget performance, then the Redmi 5 is it. However, if you need a much better camera, strong mid-range performance, shorter battery life, no microSD card support, future proof USB Type-C, and a more premium package, go for the Mi5.

Personally, I'll go for the Redmi 5 because it's more recent, and has expandable memory; I can live with the downsides.

Heavy Gaming, Good Camera with OIS - Mi5
Better battery backup, miscroSD card support - Redmi 5

He may not have used the right words when he said 'bad screen' and 'weak battery'

Maybe he meant that he is personally not satisfied with the specs in those aspects.

You know sometimes we want to say something but it comes out wrong...

I use the 64GB variant. Yes, it's currently running Oreo.

However, modern models should be what you get. I could go for one of those trendier models soon.

I looked at the more recent Mi 6 but was well beyond my budget.

Several Xiaomi of 2017 are running Nougat with no ota plan for Oreo.

I considered Mi 5 for the support starting from Marshmallow to Nougat and now to Oreo. Most phones dont get that kind of support. If Oreo is its last, am good with it.

Ok sir, enjoy your phone, you'll seriously enjoy it, no pun intended. And stop blaming anyone here as if you pay them for something.

Not blaming anyone sir. Not regretting my pick either (at least not before i unboxed it, lol).

Its just the wrong words and timing.

Ok then, but your choices are limited; powerful, affordable 5" phones are now a rarity. The Mi5 is a former flagship while the Redmi 5 is a budget phone, so the Mi5 will trump the Redmi 5 in performance and features. Personally though, I will recommend the Redmi 5; it's newer, sleeker, and much cheaper.

I wanted a 5.5" phone.

I dumped the Redmi 5 for is battery life, ppi density, camera. Also, with a year between them, Mi 5 and Redmi 5 both run on Nougat but Mi 5 had the Oreo OTA planned and in the pipeline.
