Buying From Copart, IAAI Or Auction Export by halima83(op): 5:51pm On Jul 26, 2018
Which car sales site in the US offers cheap and has more reputation among these: copart, IAAI or auction export>?

I want to buy a car from them.
Re: Buying From Copart, IAAI Or Auction Export by villamba082(m):
I think Copart is the best. I used it when I was starting my car business. I come across it when I was searching for online store to buy used and accidental cars.

The only challenge I had was that I need a US account before I can bid for cars. However, this was solved when a friend of mine introduced me to his Logistics Company , Simplified Corporate Logistics, in which I don't need to have US Account again but I still buy from copart.

Mr. Account Office also introduced me to other sites like

cars.com
iaai.com

But I still like to use copart to others.

Halima83, auction Export does not have an auction location. They link to auction sites like iaai, copart, etc.

I believe you're better off buying from actual auction sites unless you want an entity to manage the logistics which I think, auction export then comes in.

Having had licenses at all three for years, I can tell you that the cars at iaai were usually better priced because they are more stringent. Going a few days before to sabotage a car you're interested in is a common practice at Copart. Things like removing a fuse here, taking the keys and locking the car, etc.

Bottom line with any auction is if you cannot have a trusted mechanic physically go to check the car before the auctions, you have no business getting involved.

I agree with this guy. Copart runs what looks like a rigged system. Someone wins a bid, but seller is unhappy with price. He relists the car and prebid starts again at the winning price of live auction. That's nonsense! Cars are over priced too. My first option will remain IAAI. There decently priced bids from Copart, but those are few and far between.

I stopped doing that years ago. Too many other things to manage. I wish I still had contacted for some reliable buyers who could help you but I don't.

How can one get a reliable agent to ship his car ?

We've used Africa 2000 inc for years. They have a bonded warehouse at The International Airport Houston.

EDIT: We have not used GIG for years as we had a myriad of problems with them and they are highly unresponsive. HONT GLOBAL SERVICES (air/consolidated sea) has been wonderful for us as well as Africa 2000inc (full container sea).

How can one submit a license on copart so one is not limited to only buying and bidding for no license required vehicles.

that's quite simple na, click on ur profile and select licenses then u will see the active ones...select upgrade then u will be asked to upload the licenses

it will take them like 1-3days to verify.... I used my drivers licence thinking it might work..... but they declined it...... if na Nigerian dey Dia e for work.

I can only bid for "no license required vehicles" which are no fun.......

what baffles me is.... when a live bid is ongoing and u see corolla... the only countries u will be seeing on the bid window are Nigeria.... Nigeria..... Mexico(oga calculux) and Nigeria again...Nigeria must win it

Lol...
If it is Honda Civic, no matter how bad it is, leave it for the Mexicans.
But whenever high mileage Sienna, Camry, and sometimes Lexus RX300 show up, Nigeria appears.
However, they quit when the price goes beyond $650.

True, especially with the high cost of shipping and clearance from the port.
