How do I change the number connected with my BVN? I went to my bank, they told me to go and take affidavit in the court of law. In whose name will I swear?

Before a successful transaction you will be required to register your details and create a four digits pin to secure your transaction. Unless you're tricked off your pin by social engineering, i see no reason to panic as the USSD banking remains a secure gate way couple with daily transaction limitations.

if your recharging for yourself, it won't ask for your pin because your line is attached to your account. But if you want to recharge for a third party, it will definitely require your Pin.

imagine someone that knows your "credit transfer pin" then recharges 5k, transfer to his/her phone, deletes all text transaction from bank and your telcom.

you will only know if something prompt you to check account history. Remember your previous bank transaction bal is what you will see in your text or email.

i think gtb is not secure because if the person has your phone and your atm card then the person can be able to transfer fund from your account.

Hi Nairalanders i have a question to ask before purchasing some items (Chinese Yuan)

- ¥ 1 = ₦ 52.7009 while

- 1 NGN = ₦ 0.0188342 to Chinese yuan

Now if i want to purchase an item which is
E.g ¥ 50

Will bank change it this way ¥ 1 = ₦ 52.7009 x 50

OR

Naira to yuan which is 1 NGN = 0.0188342 x 50

Thanks

I don't have to worry though same bank blocked me for performing any transaction with USSD code

Lucky me right ? except when network / internet is bad and then it sucks for me

if you withdraw with your atm card, is it not your money
why did you think bank put a limit to the amount withdrawn + the number of times you use the atm card?

To improve security and reduce atm card theft related isssues.
So it's part of their duty also

thats FirstBank ussd Code is secured with a 5digit pin known to you only ones activated... if you follow that process you will be ask to input your pin to confirm..

Blesson04, you will be doing wayo with your second formula. The first conversion is correct. The second conversion should be 50 ÷ 0.0188342. Both should give you equivalent amount in Naira. I hope this clarifies.

lol....My friend used my card for an online transaction with a wrong pin and it was successful...

Naija Bank is totally not secured.
Actually, there are some foreign/reputable sites that dont require password for transactions; if someone carries out a transaction illegally on your account on those siyes, you have a right to ask for refund as the two factor authentication was not followed

Its not all that secure. My sister's phone was stolen in traffic and her bank accounts were wiped clean in a span of hours using USSD codes, i wonder how they got all her information, mind you she didnt store any of her banking details on her phone nor simcard. She after the theft, she remotely locked her phone using iCloud, thinking she was safe, now she lost both phone and money, I think the best way to secure your fund in any Nigerian Bank is to lock your simcard with a pin. The system is porous enough.
Another trend in this scamming business is to check your facebook for your dob.....then people use some pwd that are guessable (0000 1234 1991) and so forth....wil appreciate if u can ask ur sister abt her pin & see if it is something like d pins mentuoned above

At the point of confirming the transaction PIN CODE or the last 4 digits of your ATM CARD will be required. I feel it's kindda secure.
If the PIN is the last four digits of your ATM card, then it is NOT secure.

Do you want to hear the truth? You can't.

It's called USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) which means it's unstructured.

Just make sure no one has access to your phone.

Plain & simple.

1. Have You Heard About One Chance and How They Operate? Your Sim card Is More Important To Them Now Than Your Phone.
