@bimbyabim information is very powerful... i was refused a UK visit visa in may, i acquire the service of an immigration lawyer who wrote the embassy on my behalf to review my application...
it took 15 working days before the embassy responded to my application but it wasn't successful again..
the post decision team urge me to work on the ECO decision of my first refusal and implore me to outline the concern of the ECO on my previous refusal.

in a nutshell, i will advise you to follow ekpotek advice and submit a fresh application and outlined the ECO concern on the refusal letter..

Good Evening house, this is my first time on Uk thread. I have gone thru several pages to see if any one has a refusal case similar to mine but didn’t see. I applied for Uk visa for my family sometime in Feb and my hubby being the sponsor. That wasn’t our first visa- we’ve had several Uk visas issued to us but we had a break (abt 8yrs)from visiting uk. Lo and behold for the flimsiest reason we were denied and slammed with No appeal and no administrative review.
We however heard That we can ask for a review becos it was too obvious eco probably got things mixed up. Now my request: @ justwise @frontpagelawyer and all the gurus in house, what email ad can I sent my plea for review to. Thanks for your response.

What was the reason for the refusal?

Please I need some info about the supporting documents to present for UK visit Visa. I got an invitation letter from my cousin and she’s sponsoring the whole expenses but I have close to 1.5M in my treasury bill, close to 100k in my savings account and I earn 69k monthly as a corps member. Please I need a guidance on the supporting documents to present and also ask whether I can add treasury bill amount as part of my savings when filling the form online because it will mature in November and am to travel in December. Please I need your responses ASAP. Thanks

Hello my good people. Please I need your help in preparing for a UK visit visa. My dream is to go to the UK to watch a football match and stay for about a week. The issue is that, even though I currently have up 4 million naira in my account, I don't have an official job. I invest in used cars and and sell for profit. I don't mind if I have to prepare my account for 2-3 months before applying. I just need your help and advise. Also I don't feel like I have a strong tie in Nigeria. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you, God bless.

If you care to read backward, many have listed the documents they submitted with or without sponsorship. Sure you can add the TB, provided you can explain, as a corp member, with a salary of 69K, how you saved to buy TB of 1.5M.

You will need to tidy up your used car business. Register it and operate it for the next one year. Then your reason for travelling will not fly as you can watch the match on TV. Many sport fans how get UK visa to just go and watch premiership have solid financial and home ties with good travel history.

If you’re sure that your refusal was unwarranted e.g the reasons they gave for refusing you were unfounded then you can appeal for administrative review. Despite saying visitor visa refusals can’t be appealed if you have strong grounds and lay a complain (go through their complain page), you can be successful. My best friend got her refusal overturned after filling a complain. Took about a month but they overturned it.

Good afternoon @Justwise

I applied for a visiting visa and I did my biometrics on 5th July. Till now I am yet to get a response concerning my application.

My question is that:

Is it necessary or overdue that I should contact them due to the late turnaround time.

If yes, how do I go about it? I meant is it by mail or a visit to the Lagos centre or i may have to ring them. Thank you.

Grateful assist

No. The tracking you displayed shows that your application has been received by UKVI. You need to exercise patience until a decision is made, typically within 15 days.

My processing started on 5th July. We are in August, kind sir. Is this normal?

There is no option of administrative review for visitor visas. You are entitled to complain if you are disatified with the service, however, this will not change the decision. You will need to re apply and point out the mix up. Perhaps if you post the refusal, gurus here can help out.

Thanks @ekpotek and @justwise.
The reason: am not satisfied these docs( ref to hubby’s bank statement) evidence ur income. Though ur business exists but they do not verify ur personal income/ the funds in d account are generated from this employment. Incoming transaction is more than declared income. As such not satisfied he intends to leave Uk after d visit.

By extension me and my kids got refused.

If a business man has 1m incoming into his Acct does that mean d 1m is his income? No. That’s why I think the eco’s reason for refusal is flimsy.

Unusual, but not unexpected given the summer rush and other factors.

It is difficult for me to help if you do not have a purpose for travelling. Because the document you will require for the visa application will depend on the purpose of the trip.

If you have been in this business for some time and you have records of your previous transactions, put them all together and show cause in your application covering letter why you need to undertake the trip you propose.

Address specifically how this trip will be of help to you in your business and why you feel the expenditure of funds on this trip is necessary.

You need to give reasons for your departure from your previous way of doing business which apparently did not require travel as you have obviously managed well so far as witnessed by your accumulation of some thirty millions of naira.

Naturally you also need to pay heed to the other elements of successful applications which you can glean from a reading of this thread.

It goes without saying that in this current atmosphere only the most solid of reasons will get you a visa to undertake a business trip which you've never made previously for your business purposes, so ensure you put forward the most cogent you have.
